Othniel had gotten a lead from his hunter's network about a demon that was nearby. He had been tracking it for a couple of days, but he had yet to get close enough to kill it. He was currently lingering outside of a night club in the downtown area. He was hoping the people all around would attract the attention of the demon.

He was dressed fairly casually in a button down shirt and jeans. He had his blade with him, but it was tucked into the back of his pants and hidden under his shirt. He wasn't aware of any other hunters in the area but that didn't mean they weren't around. He was actually hoping he could get backup on this case because the demon was starting to seem like something he'd never had to deal with before.

Alex had been told by the Hunter Society to go to a city that has been rumored to have strange deaths accruing there, mainly just young people being found dead without a wound or sign of cardiac arrest or brain trauma. It was very odd, anyone could see that. They didn't know either or not if any other hunters were there but they wanted to send Alex and so here he was. He had just arrived at the place a day ago, staying at a hotel.

He looked through all the kids and young adults's records and family ties. He found three that seemed to have more of a troubled past and had parents or siblings that got caught up in the wrong coward so he decided that it would be good to go out and find these family members. He was walking over to the night club, knowing that one of the mother's frequently came here and another sister worked there. He wore a simple black t-shirt and faded blue jeans. He didn't notice the guy standing at the front door, thinking he might just be some guy out here to relax and get some fresh air.

Othniel had arrived a few days ago as well, and he was starting to get frustrated with himself since he hadn't been able to close the case yet. He took notice of the guy, just the way the other man walked seemed to suggest he was more than one of the silly club kids. He nodded a hello, but looked back to the line. He was hoping to find one of the family members himself, but so far he had yet to see one of them enter or exit.

Alex had been able to get photos of the family members and he memorized them so that he wouldn't miss them. He nodded back at the guy, then walked inside. He waved a hand, hating the smell of alcohol and sweat, he never liked nifht clubs or even drinking unless he really need it, which was never. He sat down at the bar and looked about the room, after a couple minutes, he finally spot the teenage girl that was clearly a worker here, just a simple dj. He got up and walked over to her. He asked if he could talk to her and she nodded then put on a mix tape of up beat music. They stepped out the back of the bar. He talkex to her, asking about what she knew of her brother's death. She broke down, crying loud sobs. It didn't take long for Alex to comfort the emotional teen and then she told him how she was coming home and it was late so she unlocked the door but then she saw in the middle of the living room stood a large creature and it had its mouth open with some white light pouring out of her brother's body into it. She tried to explain that to the police but they brushed it off as nothing.

Othniel had waited outside a few minutes more before deciding to head in. He figured that the people he was looking for had to be inside since he knew that they were working tonight. He was a few minutes behind Alex and he paused when he saw the man talking to one of the girls he'd been looking for. He made his way a little closer so he could listen in on the conversation. He didn't know who the guy was, but he was thinking that maybe they were on the same case so he'd wait until he was done with the girl to speak to Alex.

Alex nodded and thanked her for her information and promised her that he would do his best to figure out what had happened to her brother. She went back inside, ignoring the other guy and after her, Alex stepped inside, still thinking over what the girl had said. He knew there weren't a lot of demons who lived on the life force of any creature.

Othniel waited until the guy had walked off from the girl and then he approached. "Hey." Maybe Alex would remember him from outside? "I overheard you talking to that girl." He hoped Alex wouldn't have a bad reaction to that. "I want to help." He had no idea if this guy was another hunter or a cop, but he figured it never hurt to have backup!

Alex did regonized the guy form earlier when he had stepped inside. He was wondering for a moment what he could possibly want but then he had explained his reason. "I see. Might I ask as to what you know and are looking more for?"

Othniel thought for a moment that he had misread the situation, but he knew there was no way that a guy was looking for the same people and talking to them about the murders for no reason. He shifted, "The demon?" He figured that there was enough noise in the club to keep people from being too interested in what they were saying. "It's not like any I've tracked before. I'm having trouble...well...tracking it down."

Alex nodded. "I am doing the same. Form what I know so far, this isn't a demon I have encountered before, so this will prove to be an interesting hunt. What have you gathered so far?" He asked, wondering on what this man knew so far. He thought for a moment to introduce himself but he decided that could wait.

"That it's big, scary and been killing people." He reached into his pocket and pulled out the folded up paper that had the picture and information on the women to show to Alex, "I was going to talk to these women and see if I could get a better lead. Have you spoken to them all?" He might be dumb for trusting a random hunter, but he was still pretty young.

Alex resisted the urge to roll his eyes at that description of the creature they were looking for. He looked at the faces of the women on the photo that he showed him. "I have only spoken to one you just saw, the DJ here." He said, nodding his head in the direction of the DJ stand where the girl was at now. "What I have collected so far was that of the fact that this creature seems to suck the soul out of it's victim's bodies."

Othniel kept a serious face, "See...that's not at all the type of demon that I'm used to hunting." Which probably explained why he didn't have much information about it. "Maybe we could get more information from some of the other girls? It might give us a direction to go to take it down." He was serious about killing the demon, it was hurting people and it needed to be taken out.

Alex nodded. "I am still trying to locate one of the mothers of a child who was attacked. I decided that the trouble children would be pasted off as nothing for them being in trouble."

Othniel looked through the papers he'd had folded up in his back pocket. "Her?" He held up the print out of a woman in her early 30's. Her young child had been killed recently and it made the news because of how bizarre the death was. "I have her address. I haven't been to speak to her yet because I didn't know what I was looking for but..." It seemed as though Alex had a good handle on the type of demon they were going after, "Did you want to go and check it out?"

Alex gently took the photo form the man, look over at the woman and seeing that she was one of the one's that had been reported to have a dead child. He handed him back the paper and nodded. "Yes, let's see what she knows on this topic."

Othniel nodded, "Alright." He headed for the door of the club, with Alex hopefully following. Once they got out of the club, Othniel was glad they could speak at a normal volume. He headed in the direction of the woman's house because he was intending to walk. "So what else do you know about this demon?"

Alex was also glad to be out of the club, he did not like the loud sound of pumping music and the strong, potent scent of sweat and other bodily fluids. He took in a deep breath of fresh clean air as they stepped outside. He looked over at Othniel and shook his head. "I already told you all I know. I have a list of all the victims and all of their living immediate relatives."

"Hm...I thought that you knew what kind of demon it was." It wasn't the first time he'd been mistaken and it likely wouldn't be the last. "I'm hoping holy water still works..." He wasn't really sure, which made it seem as if he were really new at the whole hunting business.

Alex shook his head. "No, I have not been acquainted with this kind of demon. I have heard of demons that suck the soul out of the body, usually through the eyes." He said, stuffing his hands in his jacket pockets.
