THE RULES:
If you would like to join please ask first either by message or here on the forum.
This takes place in the Kalos Region (Pokemon X/Y) but this is more for the sake of a consistent map (when on the map), NOT what kind of Pokemon would be found in the wild there. Incidentally I'm going to start the RP just off the Kalos map so you guys can decide individually to keep exploring "new lands" or returning to Kalos towns/areas. "New Lands" can look like whatever you want so long as the logical progression takes place to get there.
You can play a trainer/gym leader of any level of expertise but level 40+ will be regarded as holy-crap-you-must-have-trained-that-for-a-long-time, NOT an easy accomplishment. You can also play individual wild (or not wild) pokemon as characters.
I'm not going to pressure you into a "post at least once per (time)". However if you're in a battle with someone please respond within 30 hours. If you do not the other person is within their right to decide the outcome of the fight (even if they're using a bulbasaur against your charizard).
Please be respectful of the people you're in contact with. This includes people sitting in your circle even if they aren't directly talking or fighting with you (you never know what they want to do in their next post!). Of course you have to wait no longer than 30 hours overall and it only applies to people in your vicinity.
RESPECT THE RARITY OF CERTAIN POKEMON. Aka legendaries, shinies or other uncommon finds. They are rare, if you're playing a trainer with an entire team of legendaries your character better be a crazy collector/friggin villain and be all about hunting down legendaries. You want to roleplay a legendary/a trainer with legendaries please say so to me so I can decide if the situation is allowed or not.
Please only four moves per Pokemon. If the moves feel like they're repeating themselves then you can describe it in a different manner (ex. If you have flamethrower, you can describe your Pokemon spinning while doing it or something. We'll still consider it flamethrower, just your Pokemon is being unique and dealing it differently c: )
Fakemon are allowed. Fakemon will be treated as not-yet discovered Pokemon hence the name of this RP "Discovery". The obvious shall apply here: Please nothing overpowered; Fakemon are not to be legendaries and thus should not be abnormally strong for a specific level.
No Mega-Evolutions.
Please also keep in mind that the intent of this roleplay is to have fun and have a bit of an adventure too, to have a story, to gasp at character twists and to have some laughs. It is not for getting down in the gritty on if your Pokemon team choices are actually better choices than the next person. If you want to fight for the sake of winning and proving your Pokemon skills then go play the video games please.
(Heck, I can tell you right now I almost lost a battle of all water types against all fire types in Pokemon Stadium. There you go, your Pokemon skills are better than mine.)

It’s south of Santalune City, Nixie’s grandpa told her, down there where people must just be too lazy to explore nowadays. Down there where there is land completely undiscovered and undoubtedly unseen Pokemon as well.
It was an offer all too tempting to Nixie Nevada, who had just gotten done complaining about her latest capture to her gramps when he proposed this theory to her. You see, she had a shiny charmander recently that she kept around to show off her rare find but a Water-type trainer like Nixie knew she had no business running around with a Charmander. Hell, she downright hated that it was a fire-type pokemon like a Charmander!
The sooner she discovered a new flashy water-type (or hell, ice-type) Pokemon, the sooner she could put this damned yellow Fire Lizard into storage for good. The best way to do that was to head south just as her grandpa said.
Days south of Santalune City and hours out of Vaniville Town she was finally, albeit only ten minutes, off the beaten trails and into land apparently undiscovered. And she could already see why.
“Oh—!“ Was all that could slip out of Nixie’s mouth before she tumbled down another sudden rocky ledge, giving a grunt as ungraceful as her fall when she hit the bottom. They weren’t long drops but Nixie knew EXACTLY why no bastard was coming into this rocky landscape.
The terrain, although quite beautiful with its trees and warm-colored stones, was uneven with rocks jutting out to bang your knees or tree roots that’ll trip you more times than an elementary school bully. Most people by now she would think would have given up purely out of annoyance. If these lands and Pokemon were previously discovered then she imagined no one would want to tell their friends about it at the risk their friends might immediately hate them for showing off this place!
Hell, Nixie was certain she would have given up by now too, content with spending the rest of her time searching for a shiny lapras or something, if it weren’t for the fact that she wasn’t suffering alone.
“Char--!” A Pokemon squeaked before reenacting Nixie’s fall down the six-foot rocky slide, bumping into Nixie’s hip at the bottom.
Nixie didn’t even look back at her companion before standing up and brushing her knees off. “Really, Fritter? Did you not just see me fall two seconds ago?”
“Charmander…” Fritter mewled as she too stood up, following Nixie as she continued on her unmarked path.
Fritter couldn’t see it but Nixie was, at the very least, smiling at her actions. It made Nixie feel significantly less stupid to see a Pokemon messing up as well, never mind the Pokemon that gave her enough grievance with its mere existence for her to go wandering aimlessly into a mountainside.
“I can’t imagine many Pokemon that’d want to live out here” Nixie voiced what was going through her head in that moment as she looked around at the rocky ledges to both her sides. It was going to be trouble heading home whenever she decided to turn around. At least she wouldn’t have to worry about that for a little bit.
For now she just concerned with keeping her eyes peeled, turning her head left to right in hopes of seeing a Pokemon that’d make her dreams come true.

"Thursday use cut!" a Liepard leaps from bushes cutting down an apple that is then caught by Hayes. He takes a bite and enjoys the sweet and crisp taste "Good job Thursday, lets go grab some more for the rest of the group"
"Lie liepard!" After collecting a good amount, they return to the camp. "Ok every one come on out" PHOOSH! First to pop out is a stern and strong Houndoom, "Luicefria, good girl, keep first watch i don't want anything sneaking up on us, this territory is unexplored and hasn't been mapped out yet."
"Hhounddoooom!" liucefria canters off ever diligent and focused. PHOOSH! PHOOSH! "Poe and Spook, welcome to the party." Poe the Hounkrow flutters up to a branch and gets comfy watches the horizon. Spook the Zuroa looks at joey with curiosity and concern. "No worries spook he's here." A Joltik pops out from his cloak "Hey Tix your friend wants to play, but stay near the camp" They both nod and run off to play. Joey then sits down against a tree and takes a moment to enjoy the forest. his Houndoom returns, "Liucefria what is it?" she looks off past the bushes, he peeks over and sees a Stantler he pulls out and ready's his bow and arrow, carefully takes and then mutters under his breath. "And so the hunt begins again....."

Spectreeon was wandering in her forest, content to watch the other pokemon go about their business. In this forest, even the most timid pidgey would allow her to approach as the pokemon here knew that she had no need to eat. Instead of hunting pokemon for food, she protected them from human dangers.
Yet no matter how well she protected those in her self appointed care, the ghostly fox would still that it wasn't enough. After all, she had failed most of those who had suffered with her. Oh she could still remember those days with perfect clarity. The cages, the injections, the pain, the screams and...the dying. Even now she could hearing the dying screams with each one permanently craved into her soul, especially her own. Yes she had died herself and by rights should be nothing at all, not every a memory as there was no one who would have remembered her had she died in a normal way. Of course she hadn't died in a normal way which was obvious by the fact that she was here. The only pokemon who had evolved into the ghost type which had happened at the moment of her death...
Spectreeon quickly shook her head in an attempt to temporarily banish those unpleasant thoughts. It was then that she picked up the scent of a human. She instantly snarled and headed off i search of the scent. It wouldn't take long for her to find the human as well as the Stantler that said human was hunting.
She immediately gave a loud bark which alerted the stantler to the danger, opened her mouth and fired three beams of different colored light at the human to give him something other then pursuit to think of. Then not watching to see if her Tri attack hit the human or not, chased after the stantler to protect it from any possible pursuers.

(About what time would it be in the rp?)
(oh sorry xux I'd probably say afternoon, 4pm tops)
Unfortunately for Nixie, the next Pokemon she came across was a fire type. Wait a minute... A fire type? On the coast? And a big one at that.
Walking leisurely along, crossing in front of her was an eight foot tall typhlosion. Why was a Johto native doing in Kalos? Aside from his strange location and size, his back was sunflower yellow and his eyes were calm blue. His fur was matted down and dripping with water. Had he been swimming?
The massive fire type looked around and flashed a smile at her.
"Hello," he greeted her, speaking clear English.

Nixie really didn’t know what to expect when she came this far south in Kalos but there were some things on that would be on the bottom of the list were she expected to make one. A Typhlosion was NOT something she’d say she expected or even hoped for---never mind one that talked. She couldn’t even think about if that made him rare or not as she took a few steps back from the eight-foot beast.
“H-hello—h-holy crap.” Nixie greeted significantly less elegantly than the Pokemon had.
She took little notice to anything about him, even the color of his back. She just stared at his face and that toothy grin a Typhlosion has. She couldn’t help but shudder. Yeah, he was a fire-type and she had water-type Pokemon but she was fairly certain that if he wanted to bite off her head then she wouldn’t be able to get out one Pokemon before he gobbled her up.
Fritter on the other hand looked much less surprised and nervous than her owner. She took a few steps out from behind her wobbly trainer with no face of fear as she neared the fully-evolved fire-type. Fritter could see enough that he was wet however and smartly did not go in too close.
Maybe it didn’t translate well to human or a human-that-hates-fire-types but Fritter at least could tell that the Typhlosion was smiling and offered a meek smile in return.
“Hi.” Fritter responded softly, “Her name is Nixie, I’m Fritter.” Not in English but instead in Pokemon tongue. It all sounded like “char char charmander” as far as Nixie was concerned.

"Hello, Fritter," the typhlosion said, still in English and he slowly lowered his head just to be more at the Charmander's level and then he looked back up at the girl.
"Are you okay?" he asked with a gentle tone. "I don't want to hurt you, if that's what you're wondering."
After completing his question, he stood up on his feet, rising to his full, eight foot height for a moment, then sat down, his hands resting on his lap. "I'm Eon," he said cheerily to her,

“bah—uhhh mmm.” Nixie was still having a bit of a difficult time forming a sentence. At the very least however, her muscles were relaxing. As the Typhlosion—Eon as he was apparently called—sat down she could at least feel at ease that she wasn’t about to be tonight’s dinner. She quieted for a moment as she collected her thoughts.
Fritter sat down as well before looking up at Nixie. She wanted to urge her trainer to sit down with her but Fritter was completely aware that Nixie would listen better to Eon than she would the shiny pokemon that was considered oh-so annoying to the water trainer. All she could do was look happy until the warmth—both emotionally and physically—calmed Nixie down enough that she finally, albeit awkwardly, sat herself down as well.
“Uh. I’m Nixie.” She started again, completely unaware that she was repeating her little Charmander. “I’ve…I’ve never met a Pokemon that could talk.”
She decided against bringing up that it was also surprising that it was a big dorky fire-type learning to talk. Best not to piss off any wild Pokemon, nevermind a Typhlosion. At the very moment, the idea of actually capturing a Pokemon had left her mind, she was completely entranced watching Eon open and close his mouth and that English was what was coming out.
“Did you learn to do that from around here?”

Joey releases the arrow with hope of a big dinner tonight, but at that second beams of light pass over him breaking his concentration when the dust settles he find his arrow sitting in the ground and the Stantler gone, leaving a chill going up his spine. he hurries back to camp to find it shambles. "Thursday, Liucefria it seems we are trespassing here, Thursday round up Spook and Tix. Poe fly up and scout which direction the Stantler went. Hounchkrow flys up surveying the land and finds nothing " hhmmm i wonder what kind of pokemon that was? Everyone return!" SHWOOOOP! "Liucefria you stay out I'm going to move downwind to avoid detection, lets see if we can find who attacked me."
"Well not many Pokemon can talk. I find it easier to tell humans it's in their best interest not to try and catch me if they can understand me, so I learned English," he explained, a pleasant expression upon his furry face, "It's nice to meet you Nixie," he said politely and then shook his head to her question, "No. I learned back in Johto, when I was still just a quilava... Partly just because "why not?" and partly to try and impress a girl..." he sighed a little bit, "It didn't work... But now I just travel the world."
Nixie bobbed her head and shrugged. Yeah, it sounded about right. Impress the ladies and not get captured, sounded like all was good reasons. She actually found herself chuckling a bit.
“Well I’m not going to catch you.” She responded, it actually didn’t come out in a nice-sounding tone. She pinched her shirt and pulled it down slightly, showing that she was wearing her bathing suit underneath. “I’m a water-type trainer, if you’ve got any buds that know water moves then they might not be as safe as you.”
Fritter turned her head slightly so that Nixie wouldn’t see the shiny charmander rolling her eyes.
“She seeks to replace me.” Fritter added onto Nixie’s story. Yeah, she knew exactly why Nixie was out here, Fritter wasn’t dumb, and as much as Fritter would prefer being cheered on and praised, she also didn’t look forward to a life in some storage bin for the rest of her days. As far as Fritter could tell however, it was only a matter of time. Fritter couldn’t learn water moves and hell, even if she could she’d probably get herself killed in the process.
She supposed at least Nixie would be happy and maybe someday Fritter would be traded off to some fire-trainer for a shiny squirtle or something. That was about as optimistic as Fritter could look at it.
“Her family said these lands were undiscovered. Nixie wants to find a water-type as rare as me so that she doesn’t have to keep me out anymore. So really, your friends are not safe only if they're shiny.”

Eon's smile faded to a frown when he listened to Fritter and he looked at Nixie with disappointment in his blue eyes.
"You're going to replace her?" he asked then reached down and gently picked Fritter up and turned her to face Nixie, "But look at those eyes! She's adorable~" he laughed a little bit then nuzzled the little dragon.
"Are you really going to replace her just for typing? When she could be the most beneficial Pokemon to a water team?" he asked. The typhlosion was apparently familiar with the rules of being a trainer.

Tyke was wondering through the forest, He was a new trainer and was exploring some of the areas. But he did not have a Pokémon with him... Only 5 Pokeballs. he was taking quite the risk here because he did not have a Pokémon he could be attacked and seriously injured or worse if he was not careful. But he is planning on finding a weaker Pokémon to be his first partner. He heard what sounded like a Pokémon using an attack, But he did not want to go anywhere near there for the sake of his life. He kept going though, The last thing he wanted to do was go back without a new partner.
He continued on and saw this Girl talking to a Pokémon, He would have called her insane but he heard the Pokémon talk back, He then slowly walked over, He was kind of shy, He looked at the Charmander and saw it was Gold "oh my gosh!" He said and walked faster over "Is that a shiny pokemon!? only 1 in 8000 or so pokemon born is a shiny! Your the luckiest Trainer ever!" He said looking at the Charmander, Then realised he had just walked in without saying hello, He turned to her "Oh im sorry, Im Tyke! A new Pokémon trainer!"

Fritter couldn’t help but be happy as the big warm paws of the Typhlosion picked her up and nuzzled. If she were a Meowth she was pretty sure she’d pure. She looked at Nixie with hopeful, adorable eyes but clearly the water trainer wasn’t convinced by the two sweet fire-types.
“Yes, I’m going to replace her because of her typing.” Nixie deadpanned, “She’s not very beneficial if she’s going to die by her own teammates attacks. She’s good for cooking but I can teach one of my other Pokemon scald if I want something warmed up, don’t you think?”
Fritter heaved a sigh. Well, she did enjoy cooking with Nixie so hopefully she’d take her sweet time deciding which of her Pokemon can learn scald and put this shiny Pokemon’s place in hot water.
Just as her place looked like it was going to be so easily tossed away, so easily replaced, Fritter jerked her head to the sound of someone else gawking at her. Did this trainer named Tyke just say Nixie was the luckiest trainer for having this little Charmander? Fritter couldn’t help but blush.
“Lucky! Pah!” Nixie exclaimed at the arrival of the new person. She couldn’t be surprised, after all she was sitting with an 8-foot talking fire Pokemon from the Johto region so another human wasn’t too shocking. Clearly others must gossip about these lands outside of Nixie’s family. Made sense, she supposed, she was from the other side of Kalos and her grandpa must have heard it from somewhere.
Nixie extended a hand to shake hello to the fellow trainer, a frown of her perceived misfortune on her face. “I’m Nixie and I’m a WATER trainer. You should start praying now that your first shiny isn’t your LEAST favorite type of Pokemon!”

Tyke tilted his head in confusion "But I love all types of Pokémon... I feel it would make it so I can beat any trainer because I wont be focusing on one type of Pokémon!" He said proudly, "But first I have to get a Pokémon... Do any of you know where I can find a Pokémon? Any Pokémon will do! I will love it regardless what type it is!... But I have to find one willing to go in a Pokeball... And most wild Pokémon are not keen on going in these" He said sighing
"Can't you get a Pokemon from a professor?" Eon asked the new trainer and clung tightly to Fritter then glared at Nixie. "You're just shallow. What would happen if you ran into an electric type? Or a grass type? Fritter would be your next and only line of defense. Even steel types are a threat if any of your Pokemon wind up being ice types."
Nixie cocked her head. She couldn’t imagine not picking a favorite Pokemon type, or at the very least a favorite Pokemon species. Sure, when she was really little she wasn’t sure which one she liked yet but she did know she wanted her most favorite and only her favorite since a young age. Apparently that made her shallow, which she supposed was ironic considering water is usually ‘deep’.
“Hey, it’s your remorse if you pick one you end up not liking.” Nixie shrugged, “I don’t know if there’s a Professor around here, I’ve come all the way from snowy old Dendemille Town but what I do know is the closest town from here is a bit of a walk anyways.”
She looked at Eon and Fritter, her cheeks puffed out with frustration. “Be careful with the ones around here, Tyke, apparently they’re very judgmental and intend on being back-seat Trainers.”
Nixie then pointed at Eon, wagging her finger, “and I’ll have you know I’m not dumb enough to pick fights with electric types that are going to mutilate all but one of my pokemon—oh no wait, ALL of my pokemon. Fritter isn’t experienced enough to kick butt, I can’t train her with my Pokemon!” She couldn’t help but glare at Fritter at the end, the charmander burying her nose into Eon’s arm. Fritter was a little ashamed herself that she couldn’t even spar with Nixie’s other Pokemon.

Tyke rolled his eyes "yeesh! what did they put in your breakfast?" he said putting his fingers to his forehead "I may not be as old, as talented or as good of a trainer as you, But I know one thing better than you, Understanding Pokemon" he then bent down and pointed at the Charmamder "Can you tell me without a hint of exaggeration that this Pokemon is happy with you?"
Goodness- Somebody picked the wrong group of people to hang out with. Hadn't these people ever heard of specialized trainers?
Sure, "love all Pokémon," and all that, but come on. Being a competitive trainer meant having to be good at a certain thing. Fritter wasn't at fault here, but neither was Nixie.
Chaos seemed to be the only Pokémon who understood competitive battling. Then again, Nixie seemed convinced that there was no such thing as grinding. Fritter could be an awesome powerhouse if she trained him in the wild instead of only thought about sparring all the time.
Alas, these thoughts would go unheard by all. The Pikachu himself was perched on a nearby rock, munching away at some Oran berries as he watched everything go down. "Pika-pi..." He thought aloud as he popped another one of the blue fruit into his mouth.
