Viola was very shocked when he had yelled at her, she stayed quiet while he yelled, not saying a word. She stood there, waiting for him to finally calm down but she could sense the emotions rolling off of him, the pain and loneliness. Once he had sat down, she walked over to him and gently patted his back, listening to what he said. She then gently rubbed his back, trying to calm him down. Once he was done speaking she then cleared her throat. "That doesn't mean you need to push everyone away. Most humans that I have met are cruel like that, but I am not like the humans, in many ways." She said with a kind smile.
Nova didn't move from his position as he felt her hand on his back. He had tried so hard not to get angry but it didn't help in the end, just like every other time that he tired. She still didn't understand... that was alright he supposed, not everyone did at first. "I don't... at least not on purpose. It happens and nothing works to stop it, not even the medicine they tried to give me. And I'm not talking about just humans... other demons as well..." He shifted to glance over his shoulder at her. Surely she thought he was really odd by now.
Viola didn't care much on how strange he was. "You expect demons to be kind? I know I have been said to be kind but that is only because of my mother's human genes and gentle personality." She said with a shrug. She sighed, "I might not understand what you have been through or how you feel, but that doesn't mean I don't understand how it feels to be alone and pushed out." She said. She was trying to understand, but if she really couldn't, that didn't mean she wasn't willing to listen and try to help. She was still gently rubbing Nova's back.
"You don't." He stated simply, how could she know how it felt to be so far out that no one wanted to be around him, that he knew he had this issue but he couldn't do anything about it. Nova pushed her hand away from him. "I've met a few demons that aren't that mean. Just because they're a demon doesn't make them evil or prone to be unkind. Just like how just because you are a half-ling doesn't mean you are either half the time." Sitting back up put his arms down by his side.
Viola moved her hand away when he pushed it away then let it fall at her side. She wish she could understand but no one can truly understand what another person goes through. "Nova, I don't understand but does that give you the right push away someone willing to help? Now, you refuse to even try anymore, are you really going to give up that easily when someone is trying so hard?" Viola was a tad bit annoyed with this, it was clear in her voice. She pinched the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes.
Nova breathed out looking back down at the counter. "You're saying that you won't leave me, even though I will yell at you and get angry, and at times see you differently. Because if you aren't it would be better if you left now and spared me the empty feeling once it does happen. I don't choose to be the way I am, but it will happen no matter what." He turned his eyes back over to her for a moment then back away. If she said it was true that she wouldn't, would it stay that way... or would it dwindle like everything else. Not just people were cruel the world was as well.
Viola grinned a bit at what he said. "Getting yelled at is really nothing to me, my parents use to yell a lot and my father was partly deaf so he always yelled. If you get angry, then I will let you just cool down, if you need to yell and vent, then I will listen." She opened her eyes and let go on her bridge of her nose and let her hand fall at her side. There was nothing but honesty in her bright blue eyes.
Nova smiled and sat back up straight, turning to face her. She was nice and yes she was trying to help. Oh, wait a moment they hadn't come for this to happen. "Mmm, one moment, I'll be right back." He stood up from his chair quickly, heading out the door for a bit. When he came back he had another chair that he was pulling behind him. Normally it was just him so he only had one in the room, no reason he should keep her standing the whole time and he didn't want to stand either. "Here go ahead and sit."
Viola smiled when she saw Nova smile, which she could tell was a good sign. She was a bit surprised when into a different room then came back with a chair. She nodded and sat down in the chair, figuring out that it was time for all the questions. She did hope that he didn't ask if she had any other forms and if there were any things like a demonic side in that form or is it in all forms.
Sitting back down in his own chair, he messed with the height for a moment before he leaned against the counter looking over at Viola. He had a bunch of questions that he could ask, that he would like to know but none of which seemed fit for the first one. Taking and deep breath he leaned his head against the palm of his hand. "...Tell me about yourself?" He finally asked tilting his head to the side as he watched her.
Viola was expecting a different question to start off but she thought for a moment. "I work at a Marine Laboratory as one of the biologist. I prefer to swim most of the time, read a book every now and again." She said with a shrug. She couldn't really think of a lot to say about herself. "My father, well, my mother's husband, works as the Captain of numerous ships and sometimes Zeppelins. My mother is a house wife and my biological father is a mermaid demon that I assume is probably in the waters around here, last time I saw him was when I was about 15 or 16."
The marine lab, seemed fitting enough also went along with her wanting to make a communicator. Nova nodded as she spoke, listening to what she was saying. Her family wasn't all happy either, except his he didn't even know. He had been adopted when he was little and grew up with what he would call his family. "Biologist huh? What do you do at the lab other then trying to figure out how to get humans to be able to communicate with fish?"
Viola's father had raped her own mother so that is why she never mentioned him her father, just her biological father or "Cassius." She thought for a minute. "Besides that, I feed the animals and occasionally run errands, just getting the supplies we run out of. The guys are a bit clumsy and break things quite a bit." She said with a sigh and small shake of her head. The sound of glass shattering on the hard ground will never leave her ears.
"Ah, sounds like a bunch of fun..." Nova looked over his shoulder at the caged rats. Sure he had to feed them but he got to do his own experiments, she only sounded like she was just around to be a lab assistant. Not to mention breaking things, though he couldn't say much about that on his behalf, he broke things too mostly test tubes. "They don't let you do anything else? Or do you enjoy doing just that?" He shifted slightly in his seat.
Viola shrugged. "I don't mind feeding the animals, mainly because I am able to speak with them in any form. I don't like wasting my gas to go get things, sometimes things that we don't really need."
(Sorry for the short reply, I'm on my iPod. )

"But do you enjoy it? Are you happy?" He pushed up off the desk, rolling himself over to one of the cupboards and pulling it open. Nova went through it until he found a few things. Going back over to the center counter he set a few bottle of chemicals down before he got up to find his beakers and vials off in a drawer.
"Feeding the animals, yes. Running around like dog to get errands, no." She said, noticing him getting test tubes and chemicals. "What are you doing?" She asked. She was familiar with different chemicals but she handled machinery more.
Nova kept on with what he was doing, ignoring her question on what he was doing. "Ah, well you're welcome to stop by then I guess if they get to be too much for you... none of the the other scientist come by so it's just me, Harold and the other rats." He spent a few moments mixing a few chemicals together carefully, watching them as they reacted with one another.
Viola nodded. "That's kind of you." She said, watching on what he was doing. She had assumed that Harold was the lone white chubby rat. She was hoping that he was just generally curious on how the chemicals were reacting and not trying to make something for her to test because she was willing to help a friend but not when it came to the point where she was the test subject.
Once the chemicals got to a certain point he capped the test tube watching it for a moment as it turned to a similar color of blue that he had seen on the girl before. He smiled slightly and looked back over at her shaking it slightly. "It really was a nice color of blue." Nova set it down in the rack, springing back up from his chair. He pulled all his used beakers and set them over into the sink before he started digging though his papers. "There are a lot of things that chemicals do, like how demons have their powers, or plainly how things work in the body even in humans." He made a face as he couldn't find what he was looking for.
