Eric hastily raised his hands up, palms facing Floran in a 'wait, slow down' gesture.
"N-no thank you, I don't need a sample to eat...although I might take one to bring back with me." He reached into his lab coat's left pocket and pulled out a small beaker with a cork. "If it's not too much to ask?" Oh he'd have a field day researching whatever the Floran could come up with to put in the beaker.
"And I promise to go back to my planet," he agreed. Frankly he wasn't sure he trusted the Floran entirely--as he wasn't completely positive what was true humor and what wasn't with the plant-creature--and he'd rather prefer to play it safe, than be sorry.

"Floran givesss all of it! Floran hasss a lot more back home. Is presssent to friend!" She walks up to one of the walls of the ship - the vines move themselves out of the way, revealing what resembles a high-tech electronic safe embedded into the wall. She inputs a code and the door opens, revealing... a big storage area that is mostly empty, except for, you guessed it, a large jar full of green liquid and with a brain floating inside. It's quite human-looking, that brain, but too big to belong to anything sapient from planet Earth. She happily scurries over to the scientist and hands it to him, all with that huge, toothy smile of hers.
It would be a shame to disappoint (and possibly offend... or anger...) the Floran by refusing such a thoughtful gift, would it not?

"Oh all of it? Are you sure?" He hesitantly took the jar with the floating over-sized brain in it and looked it over. Okay so it wasn't necessarily human, that made it better by a little bit.
He looked back to the Floran and smiled. "Thank you, Miss Floran. I will always treasure it." In fact he had just the spot in mind for it in his lab.
"I-I feel I should give you something also in return..." But he had nothing at the moment save for a rat treat crumbled in his pocket that Tungsten hadn't eaten yet. Would the Floran even want it? His other pocket turned up sunflower seeds. They'd make a good addition to any Floran's garden or lab. He offered the sunflower seeds. "Put these in dirt, soil, and they'll sprout into big yellow flowers nearly six feet tall," he said.

"Yesss! Token of friendsssship.", the plant creature says happily. All things considered, for a savage being that stabs first and asks questions later (or at least claims to), this Floran is quite nice! At least she is for now.
"Ooo? Flessshy has presssent for Floran too? Floran isss excited!"
"Ooo? Flessshy has presssent for Floran too? Floran isss excited!"
He grinned at her excitement. Yes, best to appease the plant-creature with a preference to stab things with gifts now than with cries for mercy later.
"Well, I'm afraid it isn't much, just a few seeds, but if anyone can grow them, I'll bet it'd be you." He offered the seeds to her. "And you can get more from the flowers they grow into."
If there was ever a planet discovered that was filled with sunflowers, he'd know why. He contemplated telling her that the seeds could also be eaten, but refrained from doing so. Keep the Floran happy.

She lets another of her excited squeals. "Babiessss!" She holds the seeds in her hands, admiring them. It's hard to read a humanoid plant's facial expressions, but she does seem rather pleased with the gift. "Floran grow many friendsss! Planet full of friendsss for Floran!" She hurries to put them on the table with the mechanical arms. Immediately one moves closer to the seeds, as if curious - only to get promptly and suddenly smacked by the Floran's clenched fist. Like an animal that was just hit, the arm returns to where it was and becomes motionless again. And the plant creature in the labcoat turns back to the fleshy friend.
"Now flessshy go back home. Floran ressssume travelss!", she says, and waves happily at the scientist, clicking a button in her wrist... thingy that goes beep. It, unsurprisingly, goes beep, and the familiar flash of light follows, teleporting the human back to his lab, and to the company of his glowing friend.

If only the Floran had seen his face when she squealed about babies--that was not at all what he had had in mind when he'd offered them to her. But, he supposed, it did make sense. Somewhat.
And then he was back in his lab, and he looked around. He was still holding the jar with the brain in it still, which was the only real 'proof' he had of having been anywhere than in his lab.
And Tungsten came out of hiding, scrabbling across the tiled floor to chitter at him angrily for how long he had been gone.
Eric grinned and scooped the rat up, heading over to one of the shelves of various organisms in jars, before setting the brain next to them.
"Easy Tungsten, I know. I'm back. But...I think I made a friend. And she's out of this world." He chuckled and looked around him again. "I really wish I had a teleporter like she did...next time I run into her, if I run into her, I'll have to ask about that." And he'd start a collction of 'baby Florans' as well, to give to her if they met again.
