Evenin', RPR community.
I just wanted to pop in and thank you all for how friendly you make this place feel for an ol' roleplayer like me who's been around a while and has been and is going through a lot of ups and downs in her other communities. All of you, from the person who may log in once and never come back to the staff who help run this show on a daily basis, go out of your way to make a place where I can show off and do what I like with my characters without fear of ridicule or scorn, and where I can just be myself as I interact with others-- as goofy or as civilly serious as I like-- without fear of causing or feeling as if I've caused offense to someone for every silly little thing I might say or do. Because those who know me best know I tend to have many a "derp" moment in my day.
So thank you, everyone, for that. I really do appreciate it. I've never been a part of an internet group that's been as loving, kind, patient, or civil and generous as you all have been-- to not just me either, but to each other. It's a wonderful change of pace from the usual humdrum of flame wars, gripe fests, drama bombs, and hissy fits thrown over even the most miniscule of issues I get to watch on a nigh-daily basis.
I suppose I felt compelled to write this because I've been through one of those yet again, and it made me stop and consider how fantastic this place really is to everyone who steps through the RPR's front door. You darn well do this Texan proud with your hospitality.
With great love to each and everyone one of you,
(And maybe a few happy tears nearly shed,)

Awww! You're so welcome, Lauren
I agree in everything said here though. This place is just amazing
I've been having a drama-filled week, but I am soooo glad no drama has come from here! It makes me so happy This place is da bomb

I have to agree too.
Without going into details, I lost a very good friend last year and then Kim invited me to take part in this community. All the new friends I've made here made me feel like the loss wasn't so bad and it was much easier to get over it.
Now I just think you're all really great people I like chatting with and I'm really glad I listened to Kim when she encouraged me to come here

Drama, flame wars and all the things you mentioned seem to happen everywhere everyday. Especially drama with me. Mainly cause I tend to purposely take everyone elses drama and put it on my own shoulders by trying to help people out with what causes there. This really is a great place. I believe I said one some some time ago that this is the only place with forums that I activly partake in. Both for role-playing purposes and just chit chatting with others. Kinda like how we're doing now on this one. So I can understand your feelings completely. I do have one minor problem with this place though. And that's that someone keeps stealing my cookies! Heh.
*hugs4everyone*
I'm so happy to know that folks share my sentiments, and that the RPR has helped y'out so much when things have gone cruddy.
And yes, that's all I have to say again at this moment until my frappuccino kicks in. Brain refuses to brain, and frankly it doesn't have to here at the RPR unless I need it to. Huzzah!

Copper, I am SO glad you posted this! I feel exactly the same way about all the people here. Including you!
I am thankful on a daily basis for how good and caring everyone here is. It is absolutely breath taking!
I am very sorry you had to go through drama elsewhere. It can be very difficult to understand one another through the filter of the internet, and it seems to encourage dramatics from all corners. We're very blessed to have so many people that work hard at interpreting things on the screen in their best possible light.
