Tidings . . .
And welcome to my update search thread, I'll be sure to keep this to the point as possible! I'm a sucker for all things fantasy from high fantasy to dark fantasy to fantasy dabbled within real life elements such as historical fiction and modern times. I've written quite a few stories over the years and I'm looking to revive a few that have a special place in my heart. As sometimes roleplays do, partners find themselves busy or life happens and you need to focus on your own will being for a while.

Regardless, I'd love to rekindle some stories with some new partners who have an equal love for crafting characters, worldbuilding and making new friends outside of the stories we write! I just have a few housekeeping notes before I post my ideas, if you don't mind reading over them to see if we're compatible partners, that would be so rad.

Multiple Characters + Worldbuilding . . .
I've done my share of 1x1 and sometimes I appreciate those interactions between two characters. But most if not all of these prompts are tailored for a setting where multiple characters play their parts in a complex worldspace, much like how you would see in a book or web series. So it'd make sense that I disclaim that I'm looking for someone who loves writing through the perspective of multiple characters! You don't have to play an entire cast if you don't want to (although, I certainly won't stop you from contributing as much as you want!) but my ideal partner would be able to play at least 2 to 3 characters on their own

As for worldbuilding, I completely understand that some people would much rather hop into the story than spend time crafting it (or vice versa) and either option is a-ok with me! Just let me know your preferences so I can adjust accordingly.

Character Diversity + Representation . . .
Tagging onto the last one, I find character representation important! I will always support characters on the LGBTQ+ spectrum, characters with disability and characters of all ethnic backgrounds. I'm also cool with elder characters and child or teen characters, so long as any minor under 18 is kept within age appropriate settings.

You know the rules of the site regarding players or characters in this age range.

That being said, I know some people don't normally roleplay with child characters so I just leave this disclaimer here just in case it's a deal breaker!

Quality over Quantity . . .
I can write anywhere from a single paragraph to multiple paragraphs. I'd say on average I write around five to eight paragraphs. Never the less, I'll do my best to match the length of my partner so that they don't feel over/underwhelmed by my length! All I ask is that you give me at least a paragraph to work with.

As I say, I'd much rather see a smaller post that was plenty of juicy content and amazing writing/grammar than pages of paragraphs that have more to be desired simply to meet a length requirement.

Ghost Friendly. . .
I always prioritize things that happen in real life over what happens on this site. If you need to go leave, then by all means leave! My door is always open if you ever want to pick up where we left off or you want to start another story. I really have no preference on if you tell me or not, I might send a message after a while just to check up on you! Otherwise, no hard feelings.

Be Nice, Be Kind, Be Friendly . . .
Seems like this should be a given, but if I feel like I need to step on eggshells around you then maybe we aren't partners who should be writing together! I love to chat with my partners OOC and build a rapport with them instead of simply being focused on writing. If something is bothering you or you need to get something off your chest (either in your personal life or in our story together), feel free to tell me!

Please don't be passive aggressive, accusatory or straight up rude about it. I appreciate honesty and tough love, but there are ways to go about it without being nasty about it!

Setting . . .
A fictional eastern country around the late 1930s to early 1940s. May be an entirely separate timeline or may have influences from history during WWII. The country itself may take several influences of real world countries, such as France, Germany, Poland and/or Austria during this time period.

The War is Over . . .
The small country of Ghanivia has closed another bloody chapter. A decade long civil conflict between the centuries old Monarchy and a fledging democratic Union had stemmed from an age old divide between Davos (the term for humans born with supernatural powers) and Non Davos. Where the monarchy sought to protect this people group, the Union saw them as a danger to the future of Ghanivia. With the thralls of war finally over and the Monarchy eventually victorious, the aging king begins to rebuild the country back to it’s former glory. But while the Union had been horribly crumbled, it's influence had not been stamped out entirely.

A young doctor, Josef Windsor, forfeits his medical studies in pursuit of politics in protest against what he believes is a flawed reign of power. Seeing Davos as unnatural and inhuman, he found other like-minded individuals and soon a radical branch stemming from Pro-Union ideologies become prominent in Ghanivian Newspapers. They called themselves The Black Mamba. What started as peaceful protests grew to acts of terrorism until as the people became swayed by Windsor and his powerful speeches, the fascists would eventually seizes Ghanivia when she is at her weakest and transforms her into a stepping stone of an anti-Davos regime. The royale family would be assassinated at Windsor's command, all except one, to further secure the construction of a new nation state.

Medical institutes are established to 'rehabilitate' those who cannot conform to the new regime. Prison facilities capture Davos to abuse their natural gifts, wringing them for all their worth until they are cruelly disposed of. Fascist tabloids paid handsomely spin rumors to blind the public to the true sinister nature of the Black Mamba. Those who still support the monarchy are executed. Ghanivia has become a dark and cruel place.

But two years into the Black Mamba's reign, their power is shaken when Windsor is assassinated moments before his speech in the capital city. Not long after, rumors spread of a child from a backwater mountain village with an incredible gift. They say she possess what old Ghanivian myth calls the Fire of Life, an exceptionally rare Davos power that allows her to bring the dead back to life.

And now she's been captured by the Black Mamba, who intend to use her Fire to bring back their awaken their leader Josef and fully solidify their power within Ghanivian.

The country's sole surviving monarch cannot allow this. Under the guise of a local swing king, running a successful night club and gambling ring to fund an uprising against the dictatorship, they assembles a team of outcasts (mercenaries, mobsters, criminals, spies, ex-military, supporters, etc.) to undergo a near impossible task. Smuggle the girl out of the country and in the process, ensure that one of the century's most bloodthirsty dictators stays six feet under.

Characters . . .
In this prompt's case, I'd make up characters on the spot to specifically fit this story! The idea is that we both play members of this suicide squad team while throwing in NPCs, minor characters and antagonists as it seems fitting. You're more than welcome to come up with any idea you'd like, here's just some I had that could help in brainstorming interesting dynamics between characters:

▹ An upstart mobster whose looking to make it big and overthrow the current kingpin.

▹ An wealthy noble hoping the child can resurrect their dead lover/friend/family member
▹ An ex criminal (or even an Ex Mamba) looking for redemption or clemency for their crimes.

▹ A crusty old veteran turned seaport smuggler hoping to avoid the prospect of another war.
▹ An exploited Davos looking to protect another Davos from going through what they went through.

▹ A covert spy for a rival group looking for the perfect opportunity to take the fire of life themselves
▹ An ex military loyal to the monarchy eager to bring their ruler back to their former glory.

▹ An cultist believing the Davos' survival will promise prosperity to this broken country.

Setting . . .
Two fantasy worlds, one where mortal reside (humans, elves, etc.) and another that is home to otherworld entities (demigods, monsters, spirits, etc). Sometimes these two planes of existence overlap using a path that acts as a sort of World Between Worlds, where entities from either side can cross into either realm so long as the bridge is open.

Once upon a season, as far as seasons pass for the gods, Nern was a vast and prosperous paradise known to the godly races. The legends say that its streets were laid in pure moonstone, the poplar trees leaves shone like pearl and the sun never set within the capital city. It was a mortal's heaven, protected by the goddess Averdeene. And for generations, Averdeene saw that Nern was protect from all harm by the work of her great angels - The Pale Knight, The Minstrel of Amber Run, The Seer of the Azure Athenaeum, The Lilac Huntress, The Beast of Jade Hall and the Bloodstone Blade. Each guardian possessed a gemstone key within them that could open or seal Nern.

But it's said that, within a single fortnight, an overwhelming slumber numbed the realm and cast it into a shimmering mist. The once prosperous kingdom vanished under a spell, never to be heard of again. Eventually, the land of Nern became nothing more than legend and the world forgot about the realm of beauty and pearl.

Nern did not vanish. But was instead held prisoner by dark hands.

A demon known as Phylox of The Larimar Order learned how to pass between the bridge between the mortal realm and the immortal realm through manipulating one's dreams and nightmares. And through the power of dreams, he could create a dreamscape where he bring anything he wanted from the real world (or the realscape) or vice versa. Through devious trickery, he lulled Averdeene into a deep slumber where her memory became faded and her knowledge of her immortality was clouded with only dreams of a simple peasant's life. She forgot who she was and all the power she knew banished for her thoughts.

As shadows gleamed over the ivory towers of Nern, the guardians rose forward to vanquish the demon and free their goddess from his curse. And although Phylox was weakened, but he could not be defeated - he destroyed the guardians by taking their essence so their physical bodies could do nothing else but crumble into dust. The heavenly paradise descended into unimaginable hell.

But as an immortal himself, Phylox knew these formidable demigods could return to one day vanquish him. Unable to destroy their essence directly, he only weakened them by grinding their keys to dust and scattering them into the mortal realm to be left at the mercy of the elements.

The gemstone dust was not lost, as Phylox had hoped. Instead the pieces found themselves among mortal eyes, six of whom could not blink them away. And thus, the souls of the guardians were revived and left to grow in unaware bodies.

Years past and in the human kingdom of Arcsberg, an unusual maiden is taken from her life in the peasantry to be betrothed to a prince. Though not by the love or piety, but through the greed of the royal's thoughts - for this prince found, through news of his advisors, that the maiden possesses a wondrous gift. Through the act of good deeds, she could produce pearls of wondrous wealth and beauty. And so the young prince, blinded by the greed of a luxurious life, took the peasant girl to be his bride.

So it happened on one rainy night, the soon to be princess crosses paths with a cloaked stranger. A foreigner who had traveled far to find this ivory maiden with the pearl heart capable of fantastical magic. It's revealed that they too hold a gemstone within the sanctum of their body. As the stranger taps into her pearl heart, their gemstone piece awakens to and begins to enlighten her with her true identity and the true fate of Nern: She is the goddess Averdeene and before her stands one of her angels. All the life she's known has been nothing but a dreamscape and Nern is relying on her to free it from Phylox's hold.

The maiden is given a choice. She can remain here, a servant to a prince's greed where her memories would be erased and she would continue to believe she was a mortal. Or she could flee into the world, to regain her godly powers and resurrect the remaining guardians to free Nern from the terror of Phylox.

Characters . . .
It's written for six character but I totally understand if that's too many main cast and we can lower the number that seems fitting for our needs! The gemstones/classes themselves are also able to be changed to something more fitting or interesting to what you may had in mind for them as characters.

Setting . . .
A standard fantasy world with at least two known continents (time period resembles the medieval feudal era). It has your standard fantasy races you may see (humans, elves, orcs, etc.) although this could definitely be expanded upon! There may be alternate planes of existence where otherworldly races and spirits reside as well.

ezgif-com-resize.gif

In the first dawn of a new world, before mankind was vast across the earth, the mortal races co-existed upon a small landmass known as Ardunia. A beautiful oasis, its first ancestors were blessed by the Emerald Mother, an earth goddess mankind called Enya. And for generations, the flourishing valley proved protection and nourishment for the people who resided there, watched over by the goddess and her faithful earth spirits.

But as time passed, the whims of man overwhelmed their desire to do good. Selfish princes became ruthless kings who oppressed their people. Monks lined their pockets with bribes to lay false blessings upon sinners. Soon, slave markets lined the streets in place of fruit stalls and narcotics flooded underground dens to claim the lives of many. The promised land that was Ardunia had become little more than a den of thieves and murderers. Prayers to the goddess grew less and less.

Enya looked upon the valley and seeing what had become of her children, she wept, regretting what she had made for those who no longer followed her. In anger, she planned for a way to wipe them from her sight completely.

But a spirit named Cyphos, a vineyard spirit of mirth, wagers and mischief, stumbled upon five persons whom not even he could justify tampering with - while their mortal natures left them flawed and imperfect, Cyphos found much light within their hearts.

The spirit relayed what he had found to his mistress, naming the persons the five lights and explaining the purity of their hearts. But Enya would not listen. For she believed that humanity by nature is tainted and that any soul regardless of their initial purity would eventually be corrupted. When Cyphos saw she would not spare humanity in its entirty, he offered his goddess a wager - a prospect of a new Dawn. if these five souls could show her the beauty of humanity, then she would spare them and any they saw worthy to live. If they could not, then they would perish with the rest of humanity. Enya, taking favor within her servant, agreed and gave him one year.

As is his nature, Cyphos began his quest with a trick - luring his mistress into a peaceful slumber, he searched through her ancient mind to find memories she still held dear. Stealing five of these memories, Cyphos lay magic upon them and carried them to the mortal world below. Through further mischief, he lured the five lights together and placed each memory upon each soul in the form of a gift:

To one, a silver star that shines even in the darkest nights.

To one, a golden flower that gives healing through sacrifice.

To one, a bestial strength that is untamed and wild in unbridled glory.

To one, a flame that burned at the sight of cruelty and injustice.

To one, a foresight that is heightened by humbleness and cautious pursuits.

The five lights were to use these gifts to pave the path to the new dawn, to a land above the valley and high over the clouds that Cyphos called the Everdawn - a place untainted by wickedness, made for them and any they believed were worth saving. For one year, they have the task of proving the truth worth of humanity.

Characters . . .
It was written for about five main characters, but I have no problem making it six (three per player) to make things even on each side! Right now, I have character ideas for Kindness and Hope (and other possible Virtues like Faith), but we can brainstorm to see which ones you like best and would prefer playing. I definitely don't mind switching things around!

I'm not picky and would love to brainstorm any other ideas you might have so please feel free to shoot me a message or respond to this thread. This thread was last updated on 2/24/23. Come back again when more ideas have been added! Thanks for taking the time to read this, I hope you have a great morning, day or night wherever you are.
Magic 70%
Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Technology 30%
Renaissance
Combat 40%
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
Romance 30%
Some romance is possible, but the overall plot is more important.

Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred. Will be played one-on-one.

Oh, my word! I read your whole rp search thread and I have to say that each idea has caught my interest. Most of my characters are on toyhou.se and each can be shifted to fit any sort of setting.

I'm willing to play more characters as a main cast. I'm not sure of my exact character limit, but I would like to give each idea a try at any point in time.

My posts can total up to 4k+, but I can try to match my partner's rp length. I've had others ghost due to being overwhelmed by the length of my posts before. So I'm a little hesitant to let loose with it.

But I am very much interested in all three settings/worlds that you have typed out. Love anything fantasy and the like.
One or two months ago, I showed interest in you're Witch/Servant prompt. Is that still on the table?
