"He has to. My parents don't exactly help pay for the bills and I haven't been able to work for the past month, my grandma's medical bills need to be paid some how." She said with a shrug, standing up for her grandpa. Life at her home wasn't easy. She refused to have her parents help pay for anything doing with her because they got her into all of this so she wanted nothing to do with them.
"Yes, thanks. It shouldn't take too long." She said, pulling off her jacket that had a good bit of blood on it, and so did her t-shirt. She grabbed the towel and wet it, washing off most of the blood on her neck, which was dried and crusted since the throat cutting was older than the rest and was healed, leaving a scar. Then she washed the blood off of her cheeks along with any dirty, using some of the soap. "Do you mind if I take a shower? It well help better at getting all the dirty off of my body. I got a few slashes on my waist." She said.

The more Zane cleaned, the worse the wounds and injuries got. Jonathon realized he was staring but he couldn't help it.
"They really tried to kill you, didn't they." His hand went to his neck, rubbing where he didn't have a scar. No, the only scar he had was on his leg, from where he'd been shot.
"O-of course you can take a shower. Um, upstairs bathroom, near my room. You can borrow some of my clothes--though they'll be a bit loose on you." He led Zane up the stairs and opened a door on the right which was the bathroom and shower, and then straight ahead was his room. He went to the dresser and pulled out a couple of t-shirts and some pants. "When you're all clean, you can see which ones fit you best and wear those. I'll be downstairs making lunch, but um, I'd hurry up if I were you. No telling when my folks'll get home."

Zoe nodded. "Yeah, they did. They really hate my gang and of course they go after a simple leader." She said with a sigh as she finished wiping away the last of the blood on her neck. Her eyes held no fear or terror, after a month of being tortured and nearly killed, it seemed as it all didn't affect her. Most of the time Aiden took over her body, not letting her see much of what happened, only what was left in her memory. It felt weird for her to have Jona watch her, even he if thought she was a guy, it didn't help. The only guys she spent any time around was her gang members and her grandfather.
She followed Jona and thanked him for the clothes and letting her use the shower. "I'll try to be quick. The bleeding has stopped so I shouldn't really need any gauze's." She said, setting the towel down on the toliet and the clothes on the counter.

Jonathon listened, intrigued and horrified. His gang had never done anything like what Zane had gone through--that he knew of. Yes they went after rival gangs and beat them to a bloody pulp, but never had they taken someone hostage for that long. Well, maybe his gang leader had a few homicides to his record, but that was the gang leader. Not the gang itself.
"Geeze," he muttered. "I hope you're right about the bleeding. Usually soap and water opens things up all over again. But...I'll leave you to it. Just come back down when you're ready," he repeated, and headed back down the stairs to start making a couple of sandwiches. He had a feeling that Zane could eat more than he looked like he could.

Zoe knew her gang could never do any of what had happened to her. But the Red Kings were going to get what is coming to them for this. No one, and she meant no one would put her finally through all of this and not get beat near to death. She would let her gang members do whatever they liked to any of the Red Kings they found but she was sicking Aiden on the leader. She kept Aiden on a leash, so he wasn't going to kill him but he sure would have a hell of a hard time healing without a month of rest.
Zoe nodded. "Don't worry, I am a naturally fast healer. If the wounds do open, it won't take but a couple minutes for the bleeding to stop." She said, watching as Jona left the bathroom and closed the door behind him and locking it, she didn't want to take the risk of him coming in and see that she didn't have a flat chest like a guy. Though she lacked quite a bit in the breast area, she still had something to hide with it. She quickly got in the shower and washed herself, getting all the dirty off and cleaning the dried blood and such.

Jonathon made several sandwiches. He was hungry, too, and it was his experience that a PB&J didn't last very long. He also made two ham-and-cheese sandwiches as well, putting them on a paper towel which would be easy to throw out and remove any evidence, than two unexplained plates in the sink.
When Zane returned, he'd offer him one of each sandwich, unless Zane had a preference. "You look a lot better," said Jonathon. "Get a good night's sleep and...no one would ever know what happened." He frowned. Actually, that wasn't necessarily a good thing. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make a joke out of it."

Zoe finished her shower quickly and got dressed. Jona's clothes were lose on her skinny body but they would have to do since her's were soaked in blood. She kept her bra and underwear on though, then stepped out of the bathroom and went down stairs.
She took the sandwiches and thanked Jona for them. "I feel a lot better, that's for sure." She said, taking a bite out of her sandwich. She was hungry now and thankful for Jona helping her out so much.

Jonathon nodded. "That's good." He scarfed down his sandwiches as well, before the sound of the garage door alert him to the fact his parents were returning.
"Right, we should get going--that'll be my parents. The back door would be best--and we can jump the fence." He grabbed what he could to throw in the trash, before heading for the backdoor. Then remembered the First Aid kit still sitting out. Oh drat. He'd come back for that later, with a story to make up for it.

Zoe was quickly alerted as well about his parents coming home. She nodded then followed him out to the back door. It was easy to jump over the fence for her, even if she was only a few inches over five feet. "Where are we going?" She asked, making sure to stay out of sight.
"Um...nowhere really. Just figured anywhere out of sight of my parents was good." Jonathon said, leading the way down the sidewalk to a small convenience store, hands stuffed into his pockets. Now that Zane didn't look so rough, they wouldn't have to worry so much about the police.
"You sure you're alright?" Jonathon asked, his hand fiddling with the bandanna still tucked away.

Zoe nodded and followed beside him, just realizing that she left her bloody and tattered clothes in the bathroom. She guessed that it was alright if she didn't get them back, they were old and pretty destroyed at this point.
She looked up at him and nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Like I told you, I heal quickly."

Jonathon sighed. "Alright, I'll quit asking about that. You planning on getting them back for what they did?"
He knew he was treading on dangerous territory now, but he couldn't help it. Pastor Jeremy would be pleased if he knew the moral battle Jonathon was struggling with right now, though Jonathon had the feeling Pastor Jeremy wouldn't exactly understand either. Gang stuff was so complicated to explain to people who didn't understand it, he wondered why he even tried sometimes.
Then, because he really couldn't help but ask, "Why did they grab you anyway? No offense, but you don't look like someone a gang would go out of their way to seize and, um, torment for a whole month."

Zoe nodded. "Yes, I will get them back for this." She was beyond mad, she was ready to let loose on those idiots form the Red King gang. She just wanted them to pay for worrying her family, they don't even know or care that they could have caused the death of her grandmother.
She looked a little surprised at that question but she understood the assumption with her skinny body. "I am the leader of the Black Jacks. Their previous leader was very cruel and one of the members stumbled upon me when one of the jerks at my school challenged me to a fight. I won and they begged me to take on their previous leader." She said with a shrug.

Jonathon's jaw dropped. "You're the leader of the Black Jacks?"
He stuffed his hands further into his pockets, keeping his red bandanna hidden. Oh man did he ever know who to pick friends with. He was pretty sure too that his former gang had picked a few fights with the Black Jacks; even though they hadn't been true enemies since the Rats had showed up--the rivalry was still there. But apparently the Red Kings were now the enemies of the Black Jacks.
But now all that was behind him. Sort of. Except for the bandanna that he kept with him--but not because he was gang-affiliated.
"Look, um, if you plan on getting them back, the best thing you can do is drag them out into the open. Preferably lure them to an area where cops are."

Zoe nodded. "Yes, I have been for the past year." She said, stuffing her hands in her pants, well, Jona's pants pockets. "Is something wrong with that? I keep them out of trouble as best as I can."
She was only a fifteen year old girl and she could keep a bunch of guys, most high school drop-outs, under control. She was kind to them, but if they did something to get the cops on them, she was a totally different person.
She raised an eyebrow at what he said. "Uh, wouldn't that leave my members exposed as well?" She asked, more curious on to why he would try to help. There wasn't any connection between they two, they just met today. She doubted he knew any of her sisters let alone who she actually was.

"Yeah, but only if you brought them." He raised his brow at her, hoping she'd get the hint.
"Geeze, you keep them out of trouble? Sounds like a hassle..." he murmured, before realizing what he was say. No, no, no. He was not going to go down this path again.
He kicked at some loose gravel. "Well, look, I should get going...my parents will want to know where I've been and all, and, um, I'm glad you're okay." He threw a half-hearted smile at her before heading back towards his home.

Zoe thought it was strange but pushed it aside with just a shrug until he commented on the fact about her keeping the guys under the control. She was about to say something until Jona said he needed to go and left. "Uh, bye?" She said, completely confused.
Something was up with that guy but she pushed it aside and went walking down the street. It wasn't long till she found a small park and decided to sit down at the swing set.

Jonathon returned home to, well, a bazillion questions and immediately regretted it. Interrogated by his parents about the First Aid kit being out and then with his sister haunting his every move, he realized just how suffocating home actually was. He knew they loved him, but this was ridiculous.
He swung by his bathroom, discovering the clothes that Zane had left behind, and quickly stuffed them into his backpack. He would have washed them, but he didn't want to have to tell his mom why he was washing bloody clothes that he couldn't fit into. So they'd have to do for now.
About twenty minutes later, he was back on the sidewalk, jogging along with his backpack on, before coming across the park. He wasn't sure where Zane had wandered off to, but this was as good a place as any to look.

Zoe had decided to move form the swings to one of the trees in the park. She liked being hidden in high places, it was always good for her. She watched as the sun started to go down. She didn't have anyway to contact her grandfather of where she was so she only hoped that he would check the park for her because if not, she had no choice but to sleep in the trees until she could walk to his store in the morning.
She sighed, starting to wonder how much had changed in the month she was gone. She knew she had a lot to make up at school, most likely she was going to fall behind and have to stay back a year. She let out a frustrated sigh, cursing a bit under her breath as all this ran through her mind.

Jonathon sighed when he didn't see Zane anywhere. No one could miss the flash of shocking red hair the other sported.
He flopped down on a bench at last, with a sigh, watching a few squirrels scurry around to gather the last of their nuts.
"Now what do I do?" he muttered, looking around and feeling rather exposed, despite the fact he wasn't doing anything wrong. "I'm gonna have some old man show up at my door and not know where Zane is--oh that's going to be loads of fun to explain."
