Zoe was surprised to hear Jona's voice, not too far away form her. Is he looking for me? She thought for a second then stuffed the tail of her shirt in her pants waist line. She then hung upside down form the tree, her knees hooked around the branch to hold her. "Looking for someone?" She said with a grin. It wasn't hard to find her with her hair color, but it was hard when it came to her hiding with her slender frame.

Jonathon started when he heard the familiar voice and he turned to find Zane swinging upside down from a tree limb.

"You're nuts, you know that?" he pointed out. He slung off his backpack. "I've got the clothes you left in my bathroom in the backpack, if you want 'em. You can keep the backpack, I've got a spare. And besides, I packed it with extra food if you're hungry. Besides, your grandfather is going to be coming to my house, right? So...it'd probably be best if you were in that general location when he pulls up."

Hopefully he could send Zane on his way before his parents found out what Jonathon had been up to!

Zoe shrugged, she knew she was a bit crazy sometimes. "What's the fun in life without taking a risk every now and again?" She said then pulled herself back up on the branch and jumped out of the tree, landing on her feet, surprisingly not spraining her ankle.

She took the backpack and thanked Jona. "I told him I was in the Old Creek area, I wasn't very sure on exactly what your address was, I wasn't really paying attention to it." She said with a shrug. "I'll wait outside the gates of the park and I am sure he will see me."

"Oh, right. That works." He paused, looking around. "I can wait with you, if you like."

Actually, he hadn't been to the park since he quit the gang, as he knew it was a regular meet up spot. But looking around now, he didn't see the telltale signs of it being used as one anymore. Maybe his gang had moved on to find a better spot to meet up after the police fiasco.

He moved over to a nearby swing, sitting down on it and rocking a little. "Man, I haven't been here in a while... I forgot how nice it is."

Zoe shrugged. "Up to you, I don't mind."

She rarely came to the park, she was always busy with the gang and school and work. Stuff that most teens shouldn't deal with but still getting sucked into. She enjoyed being outside, even though the sky was dark now and starting to grow colder. She sat down at the other swing, kicking herself off on it.

"I've been to one since I was a kid."

He decided to stick around, at least to make sure that Zane got home and wasn't picked up by any other gang members. Not that he wanted to be dragged into a fight, but, if there was no avoiding it, he wouldn't hesitate.

He swung a little, hugging his jacket a little closer around him as the cool breeze brushed past him. "Well, your grandfather should be coming soon. What school do you go to? I don't think I've seen you at mine..."

"Jackson High, it isn't far form here but I tend to stay away form everyone else at the school." Even though she got all the guys at her school to stop bothering her, it was not during school time so she was still marked as a no body. There was only one other red head at her school, some girl but her hair was dyed.

"Oh. Why's that?" he asked, curious. He used to do the same, but he had a few friends now in school. Not many, but a few he didn't mind eating lunch with or talking to at the lockers.

Zoe shrugged. "I just prefer to be alone when I am at school. I don't know most of the people there and the one's I do know were some guys who picked on me." She said, rolling her eyes.

Jonathon grinned, he couldn't help it. "Did you beat some sense into their heads then? Actually, if they picked on you, probably means they felt inferior."

He shrugged. "I had the same problem. Then I ran into a couple of, well, good Samaritans, I guess you'd call 'em, and they changed my life around." He shrugged again. "It's not bad to want to be on your own, but...having friends, or someone to hang out with once in a while is a good thing too."

He made a face. "I can't believe I'm offering this, but, if you want to hang out sometime, we could meet up here. Especially if your grandfather is working late, it's not like you need to be in a rush to get home, right?"

Zoe grinned. "I would hope so. They were just some dumb jocks, not any different form my last school." She said, kicking some of the sand up a bit.

Zoe shrugged. "I am used to being on my own. It seems most of the guys I have met are rude and jerks and the girls aren't any better. You've been one of the few people I have met that were actually kind." It might have sounded strange, all her life she was treated differently because someone always wanted something out of her and then when she moved and cut all of her hair, they bullied her.

She looked a bit surprised by that and shrugged. "I can't. I have to work after fourth period and after that I met up with the gang to see what is going on and to make sure nothing has happened to cause them to lose their tempers. Thanks for the offer though."

"Oh." Well at least Zane was busy and not just moping around. And besides that, it let Jonathon off the hook as well with his parents and any friends he might have that could otherwise run into him at an inopportune moment.

"Where do you work?"

Zoe never gave herself time to mope around, she kept moving forward, always having the mind set of the past is the past, leave it.

"I work at this little anime store, Animezing Escape." She said with a shrug.
