Leonardo Knightway (played anonymously)

Spring, it was a cool evening and smelled of fresh rain that would soon fall over the town.A little town of people unaware of what crimes were being committed in a old warehouse. The buildings roof sunk with age and the large doors creaked when a gust of wind came around.Clearly, the place had been abandoned, yet if you listened closely you could hear screams coming from inside.

Inside, anyone could find a mess of bodies of dead and alive people, those that were still alive didn't seem right. They had pitch black eyes and moved oddly as they walked to a young woman. She was so calm about all of it,the stench of blood didn't bother her and of course the bodies wouldn't bother a blind person. The young woman was rushing her long black hair with her fingers when she faced the men and woman.

"Hmm..just a few more people, and that's all I can get for you guys today."The woman said to them,"Now,remember to take care of the bodies you inhabit if you want to hold onto them for a while."

"Ahah. of course Yume."Someone said.

Yume, being the young woman these things looked up to was a tall slender young woman, she had long straight hair, a pale skin coloring and pale green eyes that would from go from thing to thing. She smiled at them, and said sweetly,"Good..now,you can deal with the others.I'm done playing in the dirt."She said to them, turning away.

D’Kota stood several feet away from the warehouse, his odd gaze sweeping over the dilapidated building. There was no denying the darkness hanging over the ancient structure, the air oppressive, the light dim, and the air chilled. If he didn’t know any better he’d swear some unseen force drained the light and warmth from the very atmosphere. Stifling the uneasy shudder rippling along his spine, he turned the scan the surrounding area, noting no one else foolishly came that close to the warehouse. D’Kota honestly wished he didn’t have to, but the woman within had information he needed. She knew where his little brother was and that alone was enough to drive him to brave the ominous interior.

Are you sure about this, D’Kota? Considering what I sense within, perhaps waiting until she is elsewhere would be wiser.

He glanced Solan’s way, giving his ethereal companion a brief shake of his head. Yume was currently his only lead, one he couldn’t risk losing, not if he wanted to find Leo. A moment later, D’Kota gathered his wavering courage and headed for the warehouse, stopping a few feet inside. The overwhelming scent of blood and rotting flesh slammed into him, D’Kota biting back the instinctive reaction to cover his nose, struggling not to gag. Just how was Yume connected to Leo? He wasn’t sure he wanted to know and yet, as Leo’s older brother and only living relative, he knew he had to protect Leo from this woman. First, however, he had to find Leo, that need alone driving him to approach Yume, his gaze flickering to the…things occupying the building, but his entire being focused on the woman before him.

“Yume Akuma?” he stated by way of a greeting, his deep voice rumbling through the silence. “I apologize for the intrusion, but I’m looking for Leo Knightway.”

Yume brushed her black hair over her shoulder, this man knew her name. That was enoguh to gain her attestation, she gave into a small smile as she faced the man that had spoke to her. She tilted her head,he was polite and looking for a boy that was very familiar with her;Leo. Yume, with the help of one of the people with black eyes, walked towards the person.

"Leonardo Knightway, why do you want to know about that child?"She asked him,"Unless, you're who they talk about."She said.

Yume looked at the person that had helped her, perhaps the things her little friends have been saying weren't rumors. The young woman giggled softly,as if she was a child amused by something. She always listened to the beings that helped her,but things like Leo having a brother seemed so ridiculous to her. Who would leave their little brother, as Leo often put it, A darkness that suffocates him'.She giggled again as she looked some what at D’Kota.

"Tell me,what is your name?"Yume asked him.

Step carefully, D’Kota. Blind and beautiful she may well be, but in her chest beats a black heart.

Nodding faintly, D’Kota kept his gaze on the tiny woman before him along with her rather unsettling companion. He didn’t question Solan’s warning, never doubting his spiritual companion or the ancient spirit’s insight. For that reasons, he acknowledge Solan in no other ways, unwilling to alert Yume to the spirit’s presence. Obviously she had her own connection with entities, but the only way she’d pick up on Solan was if the spirit allowed her to or D’Kota revealed his presence.

“I simply want to know where I can find him, nothing more,” he answered softly, glancing at Yume’s companion, his eyes narrowing faintly. “As for me, call me D’Kota.”

"D'Kota.."Yume echoed, smiling at him."You were right, seems like someone wants to help the little boy being suffocated by darkness? How sweet,it's almost heart warming isn't it?"

Yume chuckled softly,in her mind she was wondering if he should help him,or not? After all, knowing that someone was simply uncomfortable was like music to her ears. So,would she speak or not? Yume faced the possessed human being,it could be like a game, she thought.Oh did she enjoy little games that put people in difficult situations. The blind woman went to hold a hand out for D'Kota, but the entity standing next to her wouldn't let her. The entity clearly didn't trust him, none of them did.

"Ah,very well.I could tell you, but I could also keep him to myself. Then you would never find him and I would lose my little puppet."Yume said, pouting at that idea."But,I love games.Hmm,always reading, always outside when clouds hide the sun."

He didn’t like what he heard, Yume’s intentions toward Leo obviously not good. Of course, that she did nothing to hide that fact mixed with the hint of insanity she revealed and D’Kota understood Solan’s warnings all too well. Glancing at the hand she attempted to offer, he arched an elegant brow, his odd gaze snapping to her possessed companion. Even had the thing not prevented Yume from reaching out to him, D’Kota had no intention of taking her hand, of allowing any physical contact with this woman. The proof of her abilities were all around, the dark magics suffocating what little light attempted to illuminate the warehouse interior. He didn’t want to find out what would happen if she actually touched him.

Choosing to ignore her insane rambling, D’Kota inclined his head faintly, murmuring, “I thank you for that information, but if you could be a bit more specific. An park or a nearby street maybe.”

Yume looked around completely ignoring D'Kota The young woman already told him all she was willing to say, which wasn't including specifics. After all,you can't hold the opens hand in a game, the rest he had to figure out on his own..or so Yume had lead herself to believe. A part of her seemed to forget the dark entity's didn't like Leo,didn't like thinking about him, nor hearing about him and she wouldn't be angry at them for that. Why,that wouldn't be fair to the little entity's.

"He's in a park, some where north of here."The dark entity said coldly."..Now leave."
D'Kota Blackestone (played by Sylvermyste)

D’Kota slowly turned to face the thing before him, his expression cut from stone, his eyes bearing a warning glint. Scanning it from head to toe and back, he left no doubt as to exactly what he thought, otherwise refusing to respond. He would not acknowledge the abomination in any other way, would not speak to the thing, would not lower himself to its level. He did look back at Yume, wondering briefly what snapped her mind and twisted her soul, but she wasn’t his problem. At least, so long as she kept her claws out of his little brother she wasn’t his problem, and he wasn’t her’s.

He boldly turned his back on them and walked away, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt Solan watched over him. Nevertheless, D’Kota shivered in relief when he walked back out into the sun, the warm air washing over him a welcomed pleasure. He just didn’t pause long enough to enjoy the heat baking down on him, instead turning north to find his little brother. Fortunately, that didn’t take too long, but then there was only one part north of the warehouse, and only one young man sitting under a tree, his nose in a book, ear buds in his ears. That was when D’Kota hesitated, his expression softening, a faint smile ghosting past his lips as he drank in the sight of his last living relative…his baby brother.

He looks like your mother.

“From what I can remember of her, yes, he does,” D’Kota agreed, for a brief moment his smile deepening. Slowly drifting closer, he came around to stand a few feet away Leo, crouching down where he stood. “Hello, Leo.”

Yume waved good-bye to D'Kato,he was interesting, defiantly someone she wanted to meet again. The young woman stopped waving, and smacked the entity upside the head. She giggled when she heard it yelp and complain about her hitting it.Even though she appeared amused the entity wasn't quite sure.
"Hmph."Yume looked away, placing her hands on her hips...especially after that.

Leo seemed fairly content, sitting there under the shade of a tree, reading the day away. What better way to spend a day then that.He wasn't really one that did anything that involved dealing with other people,he kept his distance from everyone, even the people that took care of him.The pale skinned boy flipped the page before glancing back..he thought he thread someone coming to the park and instantly turned his music up a bit louder.

"It really is a childish hope to wish that my music will drown out the world around me.."He had muttered to hismelf with a heavy sigh.

He was about to continue reading, however, when someone knelt in front of him and just happened to know his name wasn't comforting. Not to mention, his book didn't seem all that interesting anymore.Leo slowly set his book down in his lap, looking at the man as his pale eyes narrowed.

"..Hello."Leo said, taking his ear buds off.
Who is this guy?How dose he know my name.'He thought, pushing his glasses up a bit.
D'Kota Blackestone (played by Sylvermyste)

Leo didn’t exactly exude friendliness, the wariness he felt toward D’Kota palpable. Mentioning that, though, would likely only to serve to put his little brother more on edge. Unfortunately, D’Kota just wasn’t sure of where to go from there, the short, sweet, and to the point greetings they exchanged not leaving much of an opening. He could try straight forward and blunt, but he really doubted Leo would appreciate him simply stating they were brothers. No, he had to ease into this or he’d probably succeed in nothing more than chasing his little brother away.

I know this is not easy for you, my friend, Solan murmured, placing a comforting hand D’Kota’s shoulder, giving him the support he needed. All the while, he studied the half angel, half demon staring at D’Kota, aware the young man’s powers were bound. That was probably a good thing for Leo considering the youth’s conflicting nature, although Solan wouldn’t mention this just yet. D’Kota and Leo needed to get to know each other without the added stress of their lineage. Speak to him, D’Kota. Don’t chose your words too carefully. Simply open your heart.

D’Kota glanced back at Solan and nodded, turning to face Leo a moment later. “I’m D’Kota,” he finally offered, brushing his bangs back from his left eye, revealing the dual colored teal depths. “I think we need to speak, but being Yume’s things seem to know where you are, perhaps there is somewhere else we can go. How about I take you to lunch?”
Leonardo Knightway (played anonymously) Topic Starter

Leo normally didn't seem friendly to anyone, that was a given just by how he spoke to this man. How could he show any sign of trust when this guy at least knew his name, but left Leo knowing nothing at the moment. He was just some random guy that walked over to him. Leo's pale gaze went to the ground, that was odd. No one just simply approached him on a whim,so then why did he? Leo looked at the person kneeling in front of him.

He's...looking at something.'
He thought,'maybe this isn't as random as I thought it was, still he is an incompetent fool if he thinks he'll gain my trust that easily.'

"..D’Kota"Leo echoed softly. When D'kato revealed his left eye the teenage boy looked at his book. It was as if he was thinking about what he had just seen.A different eye, this defiantly wasn't some mistake he had realized that by now.He took a deep breathe, this was defiantly different for him,but not that name. She was more than familiar."..Are you a moron?"Leo asked him bluntly.

"She keeps those things away from me when I don't want to be bothered,D'Kato."He explained.

D’Kota quirked an eyebrow and tilted his head, silently studying Leo for a long moment before responding. Even then, he hesitated, wondering if his little brother truly held some unknown ability to keep Yume’s things at bay. “Perhaps, but she seems to enjoy playing games and I’m the unexpected factor,” he pointed out, glancing briefly at the book his brother read, looking away just as quickly. “I’m asking for lunch, Leo, in a public place of your choosing, with plenty of people around.”

Should be interesting considering he’s no more fond of people than you are, Solan pointed out, finding Leo’s feisty personality rather refreshing. D’Kota was reserved to an extreme, repressing many of his emotions, keeping firm control over himself at all times. His little brother didn’t seem to bother. You might have better luck…

“You’re not helping,” D’Kota whispered, his gaze lowered, his eyes sliding closed. When he again spoke to his brother, he managed a hint of a smile tipping up the corners of his mouth. “I just want to talk. Nothing more. I’ve come a long ways, looked for you for a long time. I’m not going to just walk away.”

Leo set his book aside on the ground and brought his knees to his chest. He was also trying to figure D'Kato put,he felt doing things like that would help him expect certain things from the person. For instance,he could talk to something or someone."..Yume.."Leo said softly, those pale eyes narrowing into an icy glare."the witch sets the board yet again."He muttered. He then looked at D'Kato slightly tilting his head, what was that about? "A public place of my choice huh?..My apologizes, but you would have to choice that. One,I don't like people, two,I generally don't eat that often."Leo told D'Kato, looking down at his book.

“How would you be so sure.Yeah,to you he may not be very helpful but who ever or what ever you have been talking to might be right” Leo said to D'kato. The teenage boy looked at the man he had just met,he seemed pretty serious about this."..Hmm,I see."Leo said, looking away. A long time? What could he mean by that, how did he even find out about him?
D'Kota Blackestone (played by Sylvermyste)

D’Kota didn’t quite know what to say to that, his odd colored gaze sweeping over Leo, noting his little brother’s thin build. To be honest, Leo was tiny, but he had no intention of pointing that out, not when things were so uneasy between them already. He didn’t expect Solan’s reaction, his spiritual counter becoming visible, although not actually corporeal. Leaning close, Solan guided D’Kota to meet his violet gaze, resting his forehead against D’Kota’s, staring deep into his eyes. After a moment, D’Kota visibly began to relax, the tension flowing from him, his heart slowing to a normal rate.

Relax, my friend. This isn’t easy on either of you, but perhaps you should simply sit down and speak with him, truly speak with him. Tell him the truth, D’Kota. No, Leo won’t immediately accept what you say, but he will hear, and somewhere deep within…he will know the truth when he hears it, Solan advised softly, keeping D’Kota focused on him, sending soothing waves through the deeply troubled youth. This dancing around you’re both doing goes nowhere. You’re holding back and he’s suspicious. For once, open your heart and resist the instinct to hide. Leo will no more willingly hurt you than you will him, not once that bond forms, but for those ties that bind to form you have to give him a chance. Take that first step.

Sliding his eyes closed, D’Kota nodded and took a deep, calming breath. What Solan suggested was not easy, bearing his soul to anyone something he just didn’t do. However, he trusted Solan, knowing his spiritual half would never lead him astray. Besides, D’Kota wasn’t really getting anywhere, Leo just as guarded as he, just as untrusting. Solan was right. Taking his little brother somewhere they were surrounded by people would put both of them on guard and unlikely to respond well to each other, much less anyone else. Nodding again, he turned back to Leo and sank down on the ground, quietly studying Leo for a long moment.

“What I’m about to tell you, you’re not going to want to believe, but…he suggests this is the best way to go about things,” D’Kota began softly, scanning the area around them before turning back to Leo. “I’m your brother, Leo. Before you deny that, you were born 316 years ago to Lily and Marcus Knightway. I was born 319 years ago, my father taking me away from our mother before I was a year old. I don’t…I don’t remember much about her, but I recall enough to know you look a lot like her. I would’ve come sooner but…well, that’s a long story.”

Leo moved a bit noticing that D'Kato didn't exactly seem happy about his repose. What, did he prefer it if Leo lied to him and end up getting no where? Yeah, that wasn't going to happen,he didn't like wasting time either. Leo looked over at the other person, was this who he had been talking to this whole time? Who was he suppose to be? He watched this other person before his eyes narrowed a bit."..who is he.."Hr thought aloud, and how come he couldn't hear anything he said.

Call Leo painfully paranoid, but he was about ready to walk off. There was a lot he didn't understand, and for once this made him very comfortable and dare he admit a little afraid. There were many things that seemed to start out something like this only to have a very foul ending that Leo would prefer not to see. '..it's very simple, all I have to do is get up and leave' He told him self, and slowly he did start to get up.That was until something grabbed him by the shoulder and sat him back down, this being wasn't rough about making him stay. He sighed, so,even when he thought he was alone earlier he really wasn't,but he was grateful to a degree.

Leo looked at D'Kato, and then at the other man. So he was most likely fine, well if D'Kato wasn't anything like the people Leo had met before that is. And,unfortunately the way he worded things made Leo even more uneasy about all of this, even if he knew there was a light being that he knew very well."..My..what?"Leo asked, everything he had just said stunned him pretty close to speechless. The teenager looked at the ground as he slid his glasses off, that wasn't possible. There was just no way.

Instantly,Leo stood up,trying to think of someone or something that would put some up to something like this.He just couldn't believe it.,"No..no..you're lying!"Leo said, quickly facing D'Kato. The being from earlier went over to him, it tried to help him however,"Back off!"Was Leo's clear sign of not wanting the comfort of light entity at the moment.
D'Kota Blackestone (played by Sylvermyste)

D’Kota visibly winced, the accusation that he lied, followed by a demand for him to back off hitting hard. Rising slowly to his feet, he started to take a step forward, hesitated, and seemed to think better about doing that. The problem was D’Kota didn’t know where to go from there, what to say, knowing if Leo wasn’t his brother he would walk away. Confrontation far from his strong point, his aversion to people running strong in his veins, he floundered helplessly for countless seconds. In the end, though, he’d searched too long and too far for his little brother, his last living relative. D’Kota refused to walk away.

“I’m not lying, Leo. I realize this isn’t easy for you, that after everything that happened…” he whispered, his brow furrowing as his thoughts turned to the past. Neither Leo nor he were destined for easy lives, although they were made to suffer in vastly different ways. Funny how they were so similar now. “I didn’t know about you for a very long time. Even when I found out, I didn’t know where you were, how to find you. I wasn’t in a position to, either, but the second I could I started looking. I don’t want to hurt or upset you, but…you’re the only family I have left.”
Leonardo Knightway (played anonymously) Topic Starter

Leo rubbed his eyes,he looked around even if everything was blurry. He didn't want to see his reaction ,or that others guys reaction. After all,he really doubted they could see who he had actual told to back off.At the same time he kinda wished he had said that to him,"..brother.."He whispered to himself, even if it was remotely possible it was a pointless to even try and understand any of this. To actual get to know his actual brother,to anyone this would sound selfish and cold..but that was his way of protecting others.Yeah, it really bothered him,but he would do anything to keep people that happened to be family and wanted to treat him like family.
Oh he so wished that this guy was lying, that this really was some joke, But when he looked over at the light entity he did snap at,it didn't say anything to suggest other wise. Or show any signs that it doubted what D'Kato had just said, what he was insisting on being true.Leo wrapped a pale hand around his forearm and looked at the ground, listening to what he had to say.He shook his head,"..don't say that..don't you dare say that! I am not the family you want!"He said firmly, perhaps Leo was a little too stuck in his own past. He lived in his fear of hurting others as well, but that's just how he figured he could get through certain things.
D'Kota Blackestone (played by Sylvermyste)

Those words, D’Kota knew, were born of deep loss and blinding agony, his brother trying to push him away in effort to protect both of them. However, he was no less determined now than he was a few minutes ago. “Why? Because of everything that happened over three hundred years ago, Leo? None of that was your fault and you’re not a curse to anyone,” D’Kota countered calmly, looking back at Solan, quietly signaling his spiritual companion. A moment later, Solan stepped forward, revealing himself to Leo once again. “And I’m not that easy to get rid of either. Look at him. He’s Solan, my spiritual twin…and the planet’s guardian. He protects me, Leo, he watches over me, ensuring no one does anything to me.”

For the first time since they met, D’Kota dared to move closer, although he didn’t actually approach Leo. No, he walked over and picked up Leo’s book, dusting the cover off before offering it to his brother. “I’m not going anywhere, I’m not turning my back on you, and I’m not going to run scared. I’m here to stay, little brother. If I have to track you down every day, I will. However, what I’d like is for you to come home with me. I couldn’t be there for you three hundred years ago, but I am now. I want you to come live with me so we can be a real family.”
Leonardo Knightway (played anonymously) Topic Starter

Leo turned his back to his older brother. At times like this he loved that fact that there was always a light entity or two near him for the simple reason of Yume finding out. But with no little spies she was unaware of what was going on,ut wouldn't she find out eventually. What then? The sixteen-year-old glanced back at D'Kato,"..You wouldn't understand, and trust me,that in itself is a blessing."Leo replied in a very soft protest.'Leo..your glasses.'The light entity said when Solan came forward,to Leo without his glasses both of them looked like a blob of color.Slowly,he slid his glasses back on as he listened to what D'Kato was saying, there was no point in him refusing. The light entity made it clear that it wasn't going to let him go anywhere, nor were they.

In this momentary silence Leo looked away, thinking of all of this. Weighing his options, thinking what could happen. His pale eyes went to his book, and then up at D'Kota. He swallowed, looking at the book as if taking this book would be his final decision. Would he stay or go with D'Kato,he wasn't sure. But,before he actual thought about any of this, really thought about it,he had grabbed the book."..I..I can't run away anymore..can I."He said softly.
D'Kota Blackestone (played by Sylvermyste)

He waited in tense silence, unsure if Leo would continue to fight him or if his little brother would accept the truth before him. Watching as Leo slid his glasses back on, hiding his pale eyes, shaking his head at the soft question. “No,” he whispered, looking down at the book, frowning faintly. D’Kota couldn’t read the title, but then he couldn’t read at all. As a child, he never learned, his master never allowing him any kind of education. Granted, three hundred years passed, but he felt too much shame to admit to anyone he couldn’t read, much less ask someone to teach him. “Leo, we both have our demons to overcome, but walking away from each other, forcing ourselves to empty lives isn’t the answer. Together, we’re stronger. I’ve lived alone long enough to believe that, understand just how vulnerable, how weak we are when we stand alone. And I’m tired of standing on my own. So, no, you can’t run away anymore.”

Once again offering Leo the book, D’Kota smiled faintly. “I rented a decent place not too far from here. It’s not much, but I manage to accumulate enough money over the years to live comfortably. Although something tells me I’m going to be investing in a lot of books,” he realized, glancing around to make sure Leo had everything. “Where have you been staying up until now?”
