"..What.."He said, that wasn't what he meant!Just as he went to say something,D'Kota pushed him back. Leo ungracefully stumbled when his brother pulled his behind him, if he had expected that he wouldn't have almost fallen. After,he was almost quite literally a twig, one that didn't really enjoy being pushed around. His pale blue eyes narrowed at D'Kota."You know what they say about assuming, right?"Leo asked Solan before opening his mouth to say something to D'Kota.

Lily stepped into the room, she didn't seem like her normal accepting self, she seemed very serious. Very down to earth in a way. Lily walked past D'Kota and his younger brother, the twins and Shadow. This was no time for Leo to have poor attitude about things,if was about time that he met another person that wouldn't put up with his foul mouth. Before Leo had the chance to pop off at the mouth like he always did,it really was a bad habit.
"Leonardo, open that mouth up one more time,I dare you."Lily warned softly, the younger brother shut his mouth within seconds.

Lily looked around before she began speaking,"Wraith, was it? I apologize for Leo's behavior, but please, don't go. Like Solan said,we,no more like he needs you."She said calmly.

D’Kota, seconds away from snapping at his brother and reminding him they needed Wraith, bit his lip when their mother suddenly spoke. That simply she silenced Leo and his attitude and with far more success than D’Kota could have even begun to hope for. However, he did shoot Leo a look that warned he was to stand there and keep his mouth shut. Then, he moved to stand beside his mother, looking from her to where they’d last seen Wraith.

“Please, Wraith…”

Seconds from slipping away, Wraith hesitated when he saw the angel enter the room, the young woman far more beautiful than he’d expected. Of course, all the angels he met tended to come with wicked blades and murderous intent, Wraith not usually sticking around to long enough to notice how beautiful they were. Then again, not even her beauty was enough to keep him around, but what she said had him hesitating, D’Kota’s following plea making him second guess himself. His head lowered, his eyes sliding closed, he debated for countless seconds whether he wanted to put himself through all of this. Leo’s attitude wouldn’t go away overnight and Wraith…well, things tended to sink a little deeper than he let most people know.

The shadows begin to retract, the elusive tendrils fading to reveal Wraith remained, his violet gaze locked on the angel a few feet from him. “I can’t teach what he won’t learn,” he pointed out softly.

Leo glared for a moment, clenching his jaw before he looked at the floor. His bangs fell over his pale face in a black curtain, perhaps he was out of line. What else was he suppose to do,he had been hunted by dark entity's his whole life..to hear that something else could have been hunting him made Leo shudder. Which,he did always react badly to things, or people that made him nervous.

Their mother did not hold such things against Wraith,it hardly surprised that he would leave with how stubborn Leo was. Still,he was also at fault for not noticing both D'kota and Leo's reactions and confusion to what Wraith told them. If he had noticed things like this all of this could have been avoided. "Yes, I know that, but you are also at fault.,"Lily began,"If you noticed, what you were saying was making both of them uncomfortable. Especially Leo, and he would be. I choose to protect Leo from things like that,so everything you just said is all very new to Leo."She explained. Lily wasn't going to lose another son, and now that she had them back she wasn't going to lose either of them.

Wraith’s expression hardened, his violet eyes sparkling darkly as he listened to the angel, his gaze snapping briefly to Leo, then back to his mother. “You didn’t protect him from anything, you do realize that? No offense, but…I’d have to say you did the opposite if he has no idea of what’s waiting for him out there,” Wraith countered, his tone and mannerisms, he hoped, polite enough to counter the harshness of his words.

“What is waiting for him, Wraith?” D’Kota asked, hoping to finally received the answers he’d wanted earlier. With any luck, Leo would continue to just listen and not let his lack of patience and social skills get in the way again. “And why?”

“Because…we are forbidden. Half angels, half demons…we are about as taboo as you can get,” Wraith answered, sucking on his bottom lip as he debated just how to answer the rest of the older brother’s questions. Very diplomatically. Ha! “As for who hunts us…” He looked from the son to the mother, tilting his head as he studied her. “You’re far more beautiful than most angels I come across, but then…they’re usually blood thirsty warriors thirsting for my blood. Not much different than the demons who track us down…except perhaps you’d expect the demons to condemn us and the angels to be a bit more understanding. They’re not. If anything...they’re worse.”

Lily had taken things into thought years ago,and years alter she really wondered if it was the right choice. Even now she wondered if her decisions were rational, or irrational.. But now that Lily had a being like Leo,she began to doubt her reasons more and more. Clearly, the tone had nothing to deal with Lily looking at the floor, rubbing her arm;guilt.

She felt her face heat up, half from what he had said to her, and that she was ashamed to be an angel at a time like this."..Yes,angel and demons a like fear beings like Wraith and Leo since they are said to be extremely powerful when they balance both sides, both kinds fear them. So..they try to kill them well they are still young.."She said softly, then looked at Wraith,"I realize now, that hiding this may not have been my best choice..but I was frightened and only wanted to protect one of my sons..since I failed to do so before."

“I didn’t say I didn’t understand your reasoning,” Wraith pointed out, his brow furrowing faintly, his gaze shifting briefly to Leo’s brother. Was this the son she failed to protect before or was there another son lost to the past? If this one was who couldn’t save, what did she have to protect him from? He was half angel, yes, but not half demon, thus not condemned. “Just that he’s rather ill-prepared for the danger waiting for him out there and…if I found him…”

D’Kota spun around to face his mother, shaking his head. “No, mother. You didn’t fail and what Devon did is not your fault,” he stated without hesitation, leaving no doubt that he didn’t blame her, he never had. Gently guiding Lily to face him, he smiled down at her, the love he felt for his mother visible in his mismatched eyes. “He was the monster in that household and I think he knew that. I think that’s why he did all that he did, but…he did pay, mother. He suffered for his sins.”

Lily gave Wraith a small smile, even if she knew that something said she would have said that other wise. The mother looked up at her older son, what he was saying made her smile a bit more. But at the same time tears glistened in her blue eyes,".. I just wish I could have gotten you back sooner. To protect you from Devan."Lily said before hugging him.

Meanwhile, Leo was silent , which was a good thing but odd at a time like this. He took a few steps back, his mother and D'Kota were handling things anyways, so what could it hurt for him to slip away. With a soft huff he blew his bangs out of his face, then proceeded to walk to the stair case very quietly. Each step was silent, it made it fell like he was floating or something even on the stairs. Leo stopped at the top of the stairs, thinking about everything he had just learned. All of it...was just so much."..I really do need a moment.."He said to himself as he walked to his bedroom. With a glance around,he slipped into his room.

D’Kota pulled back and shook his head. “Everything happens for a reason, everything we experience, everything we endure, even the joys and the peaceful moments. Yes, I suffered because of Devon and Xavier and, yes, I bare my scars, but…ever since I found Leo I’ve realized my past and all I carry because of what happens helps me relate to him, to understand a little of what he’s going through,” he explained, gently wiping his mother’s tears away, his gentle smile assuring he regretted nothing. “And if…if the hell I went through helps me understand and reach Leo now, if all of that helps me reach him, then it was all worth it and I’d do it all over again for my little brother.”

He watched their interactions for only a moment before he turned away, his lack of any familiar ties leaving him uncertain. Wraith never really knew how to react when he saw those precious bonding moments between loved ones. Why would he? Orphaned and cast out shortly after birth, he lived his first few years in foster homes, going from place to place, spending just as much time in doctor’s offices and hospitals as he did everywhere else. Effectively born in Hellshock, Wraith fussed, cried, and screamed at all hours of the day, but the humans taking care of him didn’t understand, and many recoiled at the thought of taking care of such a fussy, miserable baby. Even when he was older and quieter, no one wanted him, not when he found trouble more often than not, refused to obey anyone, and became violent without warning. Wraith would be the first to admit he caused most of his problems…if he had. Just a child himself, unaware of his forbidden heritage, he suffered just as much as those around him. He eventually struck out on his own, Wraith ending up on his own, family interactions and relationships confusing at best to him. That alone was reason enough for him to decide there were better things for him to do, his violet gaze locked on mother and son as he stepped closer to the shadows, intent on disappearing for a time.

She smiled at her older son, he was right. Everyone was put in some sort of situation to get them to grow, to learn from their mistakes and smile at their achievements no matter how small they were. But in the end, all that counted was the end result, for D'kota it was true freedom. Not to mention that he would stand by Leo's side as well as her made proud. Happy. Overwhelmed by so much. She wanted to say something, anything really but instead she wound up wrapping her arms around her child. She didn't fail him, that came from his mouth itself...D'Kota had healed...

Leo swallowed, at least someone knew how to get free. The younger boy smiled, his gaze went to the stairs as he finally turned to the higher level. Someone had to heal, at least it was his brother that was unknown to him the day before. Someone that was a stranger{who turned out to be his older brother} to Leo was so willing to stand by him no matter what, he heard that, but he kept wondering how long that would last. Especially when things just seemed to pile up more and more, he could feel the weight of a three hundreds weigh down on his shoulders. Leo really needed a moment to think things through, to gather what thoughts that made sense up and line them up in hopes of understanding all of this. With a soft creek he entered and shut his bedroom door.

D’Kota smiled and wrapped his arms around his mother, his head bowed, his eyes closed. This…this was a moment he never thought he’d enjoy, to have his mother hold him again, to feel her love for him more than he dreamed possible. Now if only he could reach his brother, truly reach Leo, draw him out of his shell, help heal him, and actually bond with him. Maybe then they could be a complete family, a happy one. Either that or he was asking too much, but he really hoped that was the future they worked toward. Squeezing just a little tighter, D’Kota chuckled and pulled back enough to gently lift his mother’s chin, guiding her to meet his gaze.

“Everything is going to work out, mom, I promise,” he assured softly, looking over to where he last saw Leo. Greeted by empty space, he scowled and scanned the room, realizing Wraith disappeared, too. “Where did they go?”

A mothers warm embrace, well in this case her sons warm embrace since she was pretty tiny compared to D'Kota. Still this was a heart warming moment for her, and proof that she had him back, she had him back for good. Now only if she could get her younger boy back as well. She laughed softly when D'Kota pulled away and then guided her pale gaze to meet his one reveal eye. "I know it will, it always dose in the end.."Lily said to D'Kota with a bright smile. Soon she frowned when she saw D'Kota's expression, then she took the time to look around. No Wraith. No Leo. Where did they go?

Leo sat in his room, on his bed with his pale eyes hidden from the world. Soon, his pale eyes open and strode over to a case;his violin. Very carefully he picked the case up and set the black case on his bed. With two click the case was free to open, but he paused for a moment. It was like he was thinking before going to open the case which brought a faint smile to his pale face. He took the instrument out of the case and the bow string and began to play a tune. It was slow, sad but very beautiful.

D’Kota scanned the room, his calico gaze falling on Gilbert, Xerxes, and the panther, but they didn’t seem anymore aware of Leo and Wraith whereabouts than he. In fact, he doubted they even realized Leo and Wraith left, the panther tenderly nuzzling both boys, preoccupying them with avoiding a rather persistent scratchy tongue. Smiling at the adorable sight, D’Kota turned to his constant companion, never doubting Solan knew exactly where everyone was and what they were doing. Sure enough, judging by the man’s amused smirk, he could state where Leo and Wraith disappeared to…and why.

“I think he just needed some time to himself, time to…digest everything going on,” Solan stated softly, keenly aware of the question burning in D’Kota’s mind. Slowly lifting his head, his pale gaze locked on the general area of Leo’s room, waiting for the first strains of music to reach them. Not a bad form of stress relief, honestly, one Solan felt many could benefit from if they’d just take the time to learn, to indulge. “We all know he is not easy to reach, particularly when things he doesn’t expect are thrown his way, but…he’s fine. As for Wraith, I do believe he’s just curious.”

Intentions being what they were, Wraith found himself drawn to where Leo retreated, his pale violet gaze lowered, his attention focused on the youth so like him. When the half angel, half demon pulled out the violin, he tilted his head, intrigued by the other’s actions, by his need to lose himself in music. He never learned to play any instrument, but then he never had the time to either. The vast majority of his life was spent surviving and not only the angels and demons determined to rid the world of him, but against his own dual nature. Not that Leo didn’t have his own issues with being relentlessly hunted, the boy just as tormented, just as plagued. However, he had something Wraith didn’t…family. Then again, listening to the pleasant melody washing over him in soothing waves, he also had talent, something Wraith doubted he could claim.
