Leo looked u pat him, even if he really didn't want to look that far up just to see D'Kota
s face. No,he wasn't going to fight anymore. The boy had lived long enoguh to figure out when he couldn't win a fight, when it was only a tiring tedious thing to keep up.Even for the boy that could think of a sarcastic remark for almost anything. So,he could no longer run from everyone, from his older brother that he never knew existed. The same one he watched look at his book and frown. He tilted his head, was it possible he couldn't read?
"..I see."He said softly.
Leo looked down at his book again,he took it from his older brother. It felt weird to refer to someone as an older brother,"..Hmm,I live with my uncle in apartment not to far from here."he said still looking down.

“Uncle?” D’Kota whispered, tilting his head, knowing this man had to be some distance descendent. Nodding after a moment, he began walking, ensuring Leo stayed at his side, not about to let his little brother back out at this point. “I’m going to assume you want to go pack your things and explain everything to him. Which leads to ask, what exactly are you going to say about me?”

Solan watched as the brothers walked off side by side, a warm smile washing over his gentle features. His gaze shifted to the light entities trailing after young Leo, understanding filling his violet eyes. No wonder Yume saw Leo as a challenge, the youth her exact opposite, and a threat to all she represented. He needed to speak to D’Kota about that, but the conversation could wait. D’Kota and Leo needed this, they needed each other, the troubles knocking at their door from outside forces not an immediate threat. Granted, life would become rather interesting, particularly when Leo discovered Solan took on a more corporeal form in D’Kota’s house, just not one the young man was likely to expect. Ah well, he always did enjoy people’s initial reaction to his more…animalistic form. This time would be no different.

"Yes,I said uncle."Leo said. He had yet to tell D'Kota that muttering or whispering things around would be pointless. He might as well be talking perfectly normal rather then speaking softly.Leo sighed, that was something he could find out on his own since he wasn't really up for idle chit-chat at the moment.Leo looked over at D'Kota when he asked what he was going to say about him.Within seconds typical Leo came back as he quickly followed him,"..That apparently your jaw has been broken."He replied sarcastically.

"Hmm.."A park always had tree, and people would of course be in a tree.Normally that would be children no older then 13 and found themselves full of pride when they got to the top. But,today wasn't really normal and if someone looked hard enoguh they could see Yum sitting in the tree.Just sitting there with a smile that could make anyone shudder."..So he went with him any ways, nice move."She muttered to what seemed like no one, but that no one was in her lap explaining everything that happened."I guess I'll just have to make my move soon, and make it too where not even D'Kota's friend will expect anything."She said.

D’Kota arched an elegant brow and slid a sideways glance at Leo, but he didn’t say anything in response to that sarcastic remark. His little brother’s sarcasm didn’t really bother him, not knowing it was a defense mechanism Leo used to hold people at bay to protect…well, he’d wager everyone. Besides, he had no intention of changing the youth, of trying to “parent” his little brother. At 316-years-old, Leo didn’t need one, but what he did need was someone to stand beside him, help him through the rough spots, and make sure he knew he wasn’t alone anymore. That D’Kota could and would do.

“Depending on how much you have, you made need to grab just what you’ll need for next couple of days,” he said instead, pausing long enough to pull his cigarettes out of his pocket, lighting one, taking a long, hard drag. “We can have the rest delivered.”

Solan started to rejoin D’Kota and Leo when something caught his attention. Spinning around, his violet gaze snapped to Yume, the young woman perched in a nearby tree, one of her dark entities at her side. Realizing she’d spied on the brothers, he cursed in an ancient language, drawing up the raw energy buried deep within him. Without warning, a powerful gust hit hard enough to almost bend the tree in half, the branches whipping about violently, a spray of leaves scattering in the air. The gale force “breeze” hard enough to knock Yume from her makeshift throne, Solan’s hoping the twisted woman heeded the warning.

“Ooops…” he whispered in amusement, heading after the brothers without further delay.

Leo looked up at D'Kato,it was a good thing that he didn't seem to mind Leo's sarcastic response. Considering the fact Leo was very sarcastic most of the time, and it was like a defense mechanism in ways that no one can really avoid.Th younger brother looked back down at his book,he didn't exactly feel like looking up at D'Kato all the time, especially now.

He thought for a moment, what was at his uncles apartment that would be very important to bring or remember for that matter. He thought for a few more seconds before looking up at D'Kato,he couldn't be serious. He sighed, everyone had their preferences even if it was lethal to the peon, anyone around them and the planet, but Leo wouldn't say anything. Just as long as the smoke stayed away from him he would be fine."..Let's see.."Leo said, yet again thinking when he stopped."..Ohh."He clearly seemed to remember something that he regretted ever forgetting.

When Solan had noticed their little visitors, she had been working on getting back down the tree on her own. It was a little frightening since she was blind, but at the same time a bit fun. Even if at some points she would cling to the tree and then froze when the dark entity called her name. She blinked twice, not understanding why it called her name, that was until she felt that sudden breeze and down she went.Yume did hit the ground, but not that hard thanks to that same entity giving her a soft landing.

Yume tilted her hand and with another 'Hump' she walked off.

He glanced back at Solan, wondering what led to that almost playfully comment. A moment later, his attention shifted to Leo, his brow furrowing, his curiosity mounting. He lifted his gaze to Solan again, the spirit flashing an innocent smile but offering no explanation. D’Kota knew then his constant companion wouldn’t say anything, whatever Solan was up to something he’d adamantly keep to himself no matter what D’Kota said or did. Thus, seeing no point in even bothering, he shifted his attention to his little brother and continued on, silently hoping Leo wasn’t thinking of how to explain he had an entire library at his uncle’s house they needed to move. He’d realized Leo’s love for books was extreme when he Yume commented on the pastime turned all day activity. Again, D’Kota didn’t mind, his intention never to try and change his little brother, only to keep his family close. Admittedly, though, he wished he knew what was so interesting in books his brother preferred them to anything else.

“What?” he asked softly, glancing around at the city as they exited the park, letting Leo take the lead being he didn’t know where they were going.

Leo had looked back at some point,he stood there with his arms crossed.Honestly, how long had she been there without anyone knowing? At least Solan had taken care of her in a rather amusing manner if you were to ask Leo,yet there was no smile. No laughter, but he was really grateful for him doing that.

Leo didn't exactly follow,he was looking around still thinking. Now it wasn't a matter of what do I need, now it was just an explanation he needed to come up with for three, technically four different people. What could he say to this two,oh well y'know, this may have to be put on hold since I should be watching two kids.'That did sound pretty easy to say,but it just wouldn't sound like him if he said something like that so nonchalantly.

He looked back at his older brother,"Uhh.."He seemed like was about to explain, but in the end he just started walking towards his uncles house.Leo wasn't always good at explaining things, this being one of those times.

D’Kota’s frown deepened, his odd gaze locked on Leo as his brother looked around, hesitated, struggled, and finally headed off toward his uncle’s home. Shooting Solan a questioning look, he moved to catch up with his little brother. That took more than two steps, Leo so much shorter than him. Actually, D’Kota towered over Leo, although he wasn’t apt to point that out, doubting his brother wanted anyone to comment on his short stature. D’Kota had a feeling Leo took after their mother. Either that or Leo’s father was short, too. As for D’Kota, he topped his own father by five inches, that nothing short of a miracle considering his childhood. Another topic he wasn’t ready to bring up…if ever.

“Leo,” he called quietly, reaching out to gently catch Leo by the arm, pulling him to a stop. Letting go almost immediately, he studied his little brother before saying anything else, trying to figure out what was going on…and why Solan stood off to the side with an amused smile. “Something I should know or do you prefer to keep me in the dark until the last possible moment?”

Leo still wasn't sure how to explain to them that he was watching two kids, and any ideas that he did have shattered within one second. When D'Kato grabbed his arm, gently or not, that teenage boy spun around and glared. No one touched, he didn't like being touched by anyone."One, don't touch me.Ever.Again."Leo hissed,he took a step back as if he was tiring to control his foul temper."...I'm suppose to watching these two kids,so moveing out isn't that easy right now."He said as he crossed his arms.

D’Kota jerked his hand back, his mismatched gaze locking on his rather irate brother, his eyes narrowing in silent warning. “One, they in no way hamper you coming home. I don’t mind children one bit and Solan loves them,” he stated as calmly as he could, his own temper flaring, but beneath that a deep flash of pain. He knew, logically, Leo didn’t reject him, his brother apparently having issues being touched. However, logic was rarely heard in matters of the heart. “Two, I had no intention of hurting you. I simply wanted to get your attention so you’d tell me what’s going on, nothing more.”

Leo shifted his weight from one foot to the other as he listened to what his older brother had to say.He had never really liked being touched by anyone, even as a young child his mother had issues with the same thing. Although there would be days the child clung to her and never wanted her to let him go,however, those days had long since passed. So it was safe to assume that Leo felt no guilt for snapping at D'Kato, even seeing the clear irritation that sparked in eyes.

He actual seemed a bit more irritated then earlier,Leo felt a bit like an idiot. But how was he suppose to know that these two people didn't mind children,he just met them today.God,why did he always worry about things like this,it only seemed to cause more issues for him and those around him.He looked at the ground for a moment, biting his lower lip.

Leo looked up at D'Kato once again,"Physical contact is an annoying thing, you have a voice and I have a name,so use things like that rather then touching me!Whether you intended me harm or not doesn't matter, since I doubt you would try to hurt me,but the main point I'm trying to get across and you should really listen to is;Don't touch me.Got it?"He inquired.

D’Kota, stop and think. You’ve just met each other, you both have a lot to learn about each other. This is not the way to start…

D’Kota shook his head, his gaze locked on his brother, his odd eyes showing the rising temper buried within. “No. This…this is ridiculous, Leo. It’s not as if I tried to hurt you or pin you down. More to the point, I’m your brother. To my knowledge, your only brother.”

He doesn’t like being touched. As painful as that may be, my friend, some people are like that, Solan tried again, his hope to soothe D’Kota’s temper before the brothers broke out into a huge argument moments after meeting each other. There was a time you weren’t that different.

“I got over it and, if it’d been family, I’d have welcomed every touch, every embrace,” D’Kota countered, glancing briefly at Solan before turning back to his little brother. He never once yelled, never even raised his voice, the snap to every word spoken and the fire burning in his eyes saying plenty about his temper. “And that’s just it, Leo. I’m family, your brother. I understand not wanting strangers to touch you, and I realize we don’t know each other, but family…family is everything.”

Leo sighed before popping his knuckles,he didn't like where this was going but this was his fault. The younger brother breathed in deeply,at least he admitted to himself that this was fault. Only if he had realized for both of their tempers spilled over and causing a mess that grew more and more with each look, with each word. "..tch."He took another step back, and looked away.

His pale eyes stung from sudden tears that he blinked away very quickly. This was really bothering him,it was as if the guilt of snapping at his only family, and pushing him away was finally getting to him.He hated it."..you are wrong."He said softly,he knew that D'Kato was talking to Solan and that was just a single thought that just seemed to slip from his head and out of his mouth."...anything, anyone I get close to dies..so say what you want but I will treat you like stranger for a while! I will push you away for a while! That's just something you'll have to get use to until things in this world straighten out for the both of us!"

Solan sighed softly, his violet gaze shifting one brother to the other, seeing what no one else did. They both hurt so much, their years of suffering taking a toll on each of them in different ways, but this…this wasn’t the solution. D’Kota and Leo needed each other, desperately so, Solan unwilling to let a petty argument rip them apart before they even had a chance. He ignore the people walking by, aware many shot Leo scathing glares, D’Kota the recipient of more sympathetic looks. They didn’t understand either, these people judging only by what they heard and saw, seeing Leo as a disrespectful, ill-tempered teen and D’Kota the young adult trying to be calm and reasonable. How could they not see the pain, the sorrow, the grief? Humans were blind.

Lily, your sons need you…

D’Kota stiffened as if slapped, his brow furrowing hard, his lips tipping down. “I’m not wrong. Leo, I lost everyone, too. I was less than a year old when that…bastard ripped me away from all I loved,” he stated quietly, taking a step toward his brother, but going no closer. As much as he wanted to pull Leo into his arms and ease all that fear and sorrow…touching his baby brother was how all this started. “But I learned at a very young age, what happens tomorrow doesn’t matter. If you lose me tomorrow, it doesn’t matter, not so long as you make today everything it can be. Not if you make every moment, every second count. It’s now, Leo, that matters. Please…don’t push me away just because you’re afraid you’ll lose me one day.”

Lily, normally the bright bubbly young woman looked around when she heard someone. She blinked once before appearing on the edge of a park. She was not a tall person, actually she was very short with pale skin and long silky black hair that nearly brushed the ground. The young woman wore a snow white, high waist dress that fell to the ground like a fall of water, and had bell sleeves that fell to about her hip."Hmm."She spun around, facing Solan,"Excuse me,did you call me?"She asked very softly, almsot as if she was shy but smiled at him.

Solan turned to face Lily the moment she appeared, a warm smile bringing a brilliant light to his elegant features. Bowing gracefully before her, he rose to his full height and moved to her side, taking her tiny hands within his own. “I did and I apologize for the suddenness, my Lady Lily, but I saw no other way,” he explained, quietly motioning to the brothers just a few feet away. “Your sons, Lady Lily. They’ve just met for the first time, but…their experiences have shaped them and now…well, as you can see, they aren’t exactly seeing eye to eye.”
Leonardo Knightway (played anonymously) Topic Starter

Lily clasped her hands in front of her as she smiled back at the man standing before her.Even when he bowed she kept a smile, but said softly,"Please, you have no reason to bow to me."She said to him.Yes this was a clear sign of respect but Lily didn't see the point to it,everyone was equal in some way right?Lily thankfully not like Leo in that sense, allowed Solan to take her hand and listened very closely, thinking,'My my,his really tall,my neck hurts a little bit.'
Solan had no idea how much she was relived to looked somewhere else, that was until a wave of shock stunned her for a few minutes. Her free hand went over her mouth, she needed a moment."..That is..really them..."

Leo set his jaw,how funny that the person to say he was wrong was his long lost brother.Oh only if he knew how many other times he had proven right, and hated it so much.Although,as he spoke and listened his pale blue eyes softened for a handful of seconds. He seemed stuck, frozen to where he stood looking away.
Then those thoughts, those dreadful memory's and thoughts came spiraling back into his mind.Leo bawled his pale hands into tight fist, and unfortunately digging his fingers nails into his palms before he exploded. With no warning Leo did walk up to D'Kato only to push him as hard as could"Don't you dare say that! Shut up!"The younger brother yelled in protest.

"..They are are grown up,they are just as beautiful sweet angels I remember holding in my arms.."She trialed off, that sweet tone kept getting lower the longer she watched,"And they're fighting!"She exclaimed in disbelief.

Grunting softly, D’Kota took no more than a step back despite how hard Leo pushed him, paying no mind to the flare of pain shooting through his abs. No, what caught his attention at the moment was the fact he’d cracked Leo’s touch exterior, seeing the tormented youth within. Before he could react to that, though, a female voice cut through him, drawing his attention. Glancing over, D’Kota did a double take before growing very still, the blood slowly draining from his face, his mismatched glistening with unshed tears. If not for Solan, he wouldn’t know who she was, but his companion showed him exactly what Lily looked like long ago.

“Mother…”

“Yes, unfortunately, they are,” Solan murmured, aware the tension between the brothers suddenly bled away. “This is why I called you so soon. I’d hoped to wait until they grew more comfortable with each other, but…”

He looked toward D’Kota and Leo, aware D’Kota reeled beneath the hard emotional impact, never doubting Leo faired far worse. Yes, calling Lily was a low blow and underhanded, but better the boys deal with this shock then destroy any chance they had of standing together as a family. His gaze shifted to Leo, Solan ensuring the younger brother could not only see him, but hear him. At that point, the troubled youth needed to be aware of everything being said, of everything going on or he’d retreat once again.

Leo quickly brought his hands back, his black bangs falling in his face. He didn't want to hear that, those foul words.Yes,D'Kato defiantly broke Leo down that tough exterior he spent so long making to protect himself from the pain of losing others. It did seem pretty selfish, but it worked for him.".."He opened his mouth to tell D'Kato to e quite in a rude manner again but that voice. With the same hands that slammed into his older brothers abs began to tremble in uncontrollably,he swallowed.

Lily looked back at Solan, she then looked at the ground thinking of what to do. But all logical thoughts would not come, she just kept thinking my children. She lost both of them, she hadn't been there when they really needed her."Ahahah,it has been to long.."

She would have scolded them, they deserved a good scolding for treating each other that way. However as she walked over to them, she couldn't find that strength to yell at those two. So much had happened, the things she wished to protect them from shaped them into who they were now. The young woman stopped in front of the two, smiling she held out a small hand for the two."..Ah,only if I could be angry at my little ones.Your faces make it a little too hard."She said with a chuckle,Lily seemed so happy, she seemed perfectly fine. But look close enoguh you could defiantly see tears.
D'Kota Blackestone (played by Sylvermyste)

He felt numb, every thought crumbling to ash in his mind, his heart still in his chest, his breath locked deep in his throat. Watching from beneath thick lashes as his mother walked toward them, though, he felt himself begin to crumble. Then, she opened her arms to them, D’Kota not hesitating to sink into that warm embrace, cherishing the love his father once thought to deny him. The dam broke, the numbness fading away to a deep ache that tore through him, all the years he suffered without family, all the agony he’d struggled under threatening to rise up and consume him. Outwardly, though, he simply bowed his head, his eyes sliding closed, silent tears slowly trickling a pained path down his dark cheeks.

Solan watched on in silence, smiling when D’Kota went to his mother without hesitation, knowing he would. He looked toward Leo then, knowing the youth wouldn’t go to her, the guilt he felt for her death holding him prisoner. Refusing to let Leo hide, Solan slipped up behind the youth and gave him a light shove, one that sent him staggering into the embrace he sought to avoid. Standing back, Solan couldn’t help but beam, the scene he’d waited so long to witness playing out before, one far more beautiful than he’d ever imagined. The brother were finally united with each other and their loving mother.
