Thorns I see in one location, and probably flowers/blooms in another.

There are a few random events that can cause them to recover a few HP here and there, but the only reliable source of healing is base camp where the veterinary hospitals are.

Oh, and sand quarries for bottles.

If you give them looping orders with home base as either end of the loop, they will make sure to remain in home base until fully healed before starting their loop over again.

We're gonna need so many fish...

hmmm... I still feel like I'm doing something wrong strategy-wise. I am down to 50% health and have found nothing.
