Does choosing combat or speed in the walrus game lower the chance of being attacked?

Combat makes you seek fights, I think. Speed, you just try to get through ASAP. I had a few reports saying they just saw some lizard hurry away while using speed focus.
Combat focus improves your odds of winning a little, though.
Hmmm. Get attacked more, but also more likely to win.
