That's one worker that's not gonna report for duty tomorrow.
Dragon-

Oh, no, there's tons. Blasted things got into Scamp's enclosure again. Last time, I managed to spot the issue fast enough that it didn't really turn into a big issue, but I think they might have managed to colonize before I managed to cut off their entry this time... I've been vacuuming them up in the meantime, but I might have to just take the whole enclosure apart sooner than intended...
My dad's been sprinkling baking soda on the yard where the ants' trails are at, he says he saw a video that said baking soda was supposed to help get rid of them.
So maybe try that?
So maybe try that?
Or possibly, cinnamon. I heard a lot of bugs don't like cinnamon.
I've been laying out cinnamon on parts of my floor for the past 2 or 3 years now.

Ohh, hm. Still coming in, huh?

And for the ones that got into the enclosure, there's nothing I can do to them that won't also be a problem for Scamp and the bugs I actually do want in there.
No, no more are coming in. I think they just managed to get a queen into the enclosure.
Ohhhh.
I was hoping maybe there were just a lot hiding in there and that I'd be able to steadily tempt them all out to their doom, but today I started seeing some that are slightly smaller making me think they were hatched in there and only just got big enough to start doing their duties.

Oh.
That sucks that you can't do anything about it without affecting the other bugs

It's possible some just found a new way in, but seems unlikely...
Uuugh.
Would cornmeal be a problem for Scamp and the other bugs?
Ants tend to... bloat on it.
Yeah, that's the downfall of bioactive enclosures. Regular maintenance becomes a lot easier and it looks nice and natural, but if something unwanted gets in there... it's a disaster. @_@
Bloat?
Bloat?
Eat so much they explode.
Oh no. 😅
Hm... I'll have to look into it. As it's been, I'd ended up feeding them to lure them out where I can vacuum them up, but it's looking like I might just been helping the multiply more in the process. And I can set aside cultures of my other bug to keep safe as a precaution...
