Be really careful about killing off all the easy ones if you don't have enough people to tackle the hard ones -- there's a maximum number of monsters that can be at each portal, and the easy ones are taking up space that could be occupied by a much harder monster

If you only kill the easy ones, you open up slots and they'll keep randomly being filled until every single slot is taken up by a hard monster

Yep, I only smacked it because it it was about to die anyway, but yeah. There have been many times folks picked off weak monsters through the night and everyone else got to wake up to a wall a the most difficult enemies - and more time to rest between is also needed with them, so those walls take extra long to bring back down, too.
