Like my best friend, who I can't even go to his house anymore because my mom thought she smelled weed on my clothes.

He or his parents hadn't done anything like that when I was around them, and his mom is legally allowed to use it for medical reasons.

And she just shuts me down whenever I try to defend him, and when I'm openly sad/pissed off about it she'll rub it in my face.

And then she tries to 'compromise' with me by saying he can come over whenever when I explicitly told her that the reason I go to his house is to get away from her.

yeah that's code for "I want to watch you two and I don't trust his parents"
