This is reminding me of the Harry Potter riddle egg, which is musical and is the first clue of the under-the-lake riddle. I'm gonna go look up the technical definition of schism.
So it's a split or divide of some kind, sure enough, but maybe harry Potter isn't the right direction and this is an actual musical piece? One referring to a destination, maybe, like This Must Be The Place. Or one with lyrics that hearken to the riddle's style or words.

Schism is a religious word so it's probably an anti religious song.
Something like "take me to church" where there torn or autrisized for a desire.

Schism automatically made me think of the Tool song by the same name, if that helps, but that doesn’t fit any of the other clues…
The wording of “a desire of strong” is what I’m interested in the most here…
A riddle made physical, correctly it is musical makes me think of those “play the notes and they spell a word” riddles :’D (like FEED, BEAD, DEAD, DAD, etc. Or EGG BABE from the Adventure Zone if anyone remembers that!)
Edit: to build on the Tool suggestions just in case: they are known for employing really weird time signatures and the album in particular Schism is from (Lateralus) has the album’s title song feature the Fibonacci sequence, with other songs featuring similar math and science references. That kinda fits the “correctly, it is musical” part, but not sure otherwise.

I don't know much about music, but the rest of the riddles in this prism (so far) have been sci-fi related (and I suspect the cube puzzle is somehow math/science related too), so I think the Fibonnaci sequence is along the right lines
I know I’m stuck on Tool but :’D I just remembered a type of puzzle or riddle is called a lateral thinking puzzle where the goal is to think in a creative way
(Here are some examples https://www.rd.com/article/lateral-thinking-puzzles/ )
Also, the latissimus dorsi (lats among bodybuilders) is the largest muscle in the upper body. Maybe that would fit with the desire for a strong make (also I missed the word ‘make’ on my first go, my bad )? (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latissimus_dorsi_muscle)
If so we might want to try lateral (or lateral thinking), Lateralus, Fibonacci sequence (or Fibonacci), latissimus??

Could this be a reference to "The Goonies", where they had to play the right notes on a makeshift piano to get to One-Eyed Willie's ship (their destination of strong desire) without falling into a chasm?
Bonus clue arrived
I keep thinking Ready Player One. Wade plays Discovery, from part III of 2112 by Rush.
Other than that, it's making me think Zelda with the portal clue, but maybe something else because that doesn't match the others.

Oh, this is a Portal riddle, isn't it? Music is an understated, but important part of both games, and it fits with the prisms sci-fi theme.
Aperture Science Hard Light Bridges are constructed out of light (... made physical), but they actually emit music in the game (a low background hum naturally, but they actually play the song Cara Mia if you stand still on them for a minute or so). They also bridge gaps between schisms/divides, and let you arrive at destinations.
Both Companion Cubes and Sentry Turrets also sing at points during the games, but I think the hard light bridges are compelling.

Folks, phantom of the opera!
Could it be about Stranger Things?
- Music had a big part in it, 'Running up that Hill' by Kate Bush mainly, which helped fend off Vecna. Vecna was made physical in the real world's dimension by the portal opening.
- There was a divide between the dimensions.
- Pain and trauma find you at Vecna.
- Vecna opens a portal.
- Given there was a lot of psychic power involved in Stranger Things, could be why your head throbs when you look at The Haunted.

Oh yeah, there was that whole thing in season one with Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?, as well... This one has me pretty stumped
Okay so… potentially silly suggestion but I just remembered very late and wonder if this has to do with Amphibia
There is the calamity box, which is a music box with three faded gems shards that opens portals. You need three tests to get the gems to reactivate (one of strength, one of wisdom and one of heart), and once done you can go to different worlds based on different music combinations.
I can’t remember anything about a physical schism in particular but the central theme around amphibia was how things change for better or for worse, including friendships. So there was always a theme of people being divided. I guess you could also consider frogs, newts and toads being in different schisms since they were pretty against each other.
Heck the series begins with Anne Boonchuy trying to reach her family who she has been separated from, and her friends landing in different parts of Amphibia.
A desire of strong make has you as the puzzle's sake... one of the temples had this: "Keeper of the box, one strong of mind, three trials await, that will return the stones' shine." But in general, as far as desires go, characters wanting to use the calamity box each had a strong desire behind it, whether it was to get home, to protect people, to hold power over people, to keep things the way they are, or for experimentation.
Can we try Calamity Box, calamity gems, calamity shards, calamity gem shards, three stones?

Amphibia sounds promising!
The only other idea I have for this one is Rock & Rule, and that’s a real deep cut if so.

Ooooh, Rock and Rule feels promising too! I know it got a sort of revival in interest not too long ago too. There’s definitely a riddle with a portal that requires music to control!
The magic of one voice! One heart! One song! But there is no ONE!
Maybe we can also try “there is no one” in that case?
(Also just a great movie all around :’D)

Right? And it's full on sci-fi (or, well, science fantasy I guess technically with the demon) so it'd fit *this* portal-stand-in, hahah.
(Did it come back? I totally missed that.)

Has anyone tried "LeMarchand's Box" as an answer?
According to the Hellraiser wiki, LeMarchand's Box was a sort of key to opening portals to other worlds and dimensions (some of which were described as being inhabited by demons), and would play a musical tune when opened correctly. It is described in The Hellbound Heart novella by Clive Barker as a lacquered box that would play an increasingly complex rondo as more and more pieces of it were unlocked.
Other possible answers related to this topic might be:
"The LeMarchand Configuration"
"The Lament Configuration"

"The boxes, known in some circles as LeMarchand Boxes, were each one of a kind creations which were also puzzles, with the answer to one's ultimate heart's desire as their solution."
"A LeMarchand's box is a mystical/mechanical device that acts as a door — or a key to a door — to another dimension or plane of existence. The solution of the puzzle creates a bridge through which beings may travel in either direction across this "Schism"."
...Yeah, nah, I'm pretty sure you've got it, there!

Congrats on solving this symbol! The answer was "Lament configuration".
