Yuke drew in a sharp breathe,"Wow..it really is yo,brother."He spoke softly,after all the perching. After so many people saying that he just wasn't letting go, and now he stood there in front of Yuke. The younger twin smiled at Nylain, he had been found, and at the moment that was all the really mattered to Yuke. He missed has clearly missed his older brother. The young man tilted his head, Ny had a tattoo which was defiantly not something he had expected from him. In fact, it kind of made him laugh a bit.

Nylian smiled and lowered his gaze, nodding slowly as he racked his mind for something to say, anything to say. He wished he could claim that was easy and he was just behaving as much as fool as the guards, but it wasn’t. Too many things Nylian guarded, never wanting to expose his twin to the horrors he knew in any way. Too many years he remained quiet, preferring silence to voicing his thoughts, his opinions, even his rage only to be beaten down for his defiance. Now that he stood there, now that he’d returned home after countless years, he found himself a prisoner in his own home, his people believing him a traitor, his homecoming nothing like he’d hoped. For all of that, though, Nylian wanted to be nowhere else.

“You haven’t changed,” he finally murmured, slowly looking up into his twin’s red eyes. “Still playing tricks on everyone, still walking about with furry shadows following you everywhere.”

Yuke chuckled softly, oh only if Nylian knew what else followed him, acting as his personal shadow. How would his brother even react to him having a Eara as a pet at some point. He would say that it was the best six weeks in a long time, but some how solders losing fingers didn't give off the same feeling. Yuke lashed nervously at that as he rubbed the back of his neck, best to save that for when Nylain isn't stuck in the dungeon. The prince shook his head a bit before looking back at his older brother.

"Ah, from what I can see you haven't really changed yourself. Your still so quiet."Yuke noted with a smile. He then looked at the floor, resting his head against the bars yet again. "Yeah..I guess I just didn't want to change, and I didn't so I didn't try to change. Especially after everything that happen I don't think anyone would be able to deal with another huge change.But enough about me, how do you feel,big brother?"He asked Nylain.

He admittedly stared at his brother in disbelief, wondering if Yuke realized he rambled as bad now as the guards had just seconds ago. Yuke never rambled. No, that wasn’t entirely true, his twin tending to ramble around Yume, f he spoke around her at all. He had to admit, at least to himself, his twin was just as cute as ever when he fell to that habit born of uncertainty. Lowering his gaze to hide his amusement, he pushed off the wall and drifted toward his younger brother.

“I wouldn’t go so far as to say you haven’t changed at all. You’re just…still you, still mischievous, still an animal lover,” he corrected softly, wishing Yuke was right, wishing he hadn’t changed either. “How do I feel? Shorter than you. Beyond that…about the way one would expect, I imagine, all things considered.”

He knew he was rambling, and he hardly rambled now. Of course he rambled a lot around Yume, and when he was first in court. He shook his head, that was not something he wanted to Nylain to know about, the day his pride and common sense seemed to take a dive out the closer window. Oh how he was happy that Uncle Lathai was there, and he is still happy that his uncle still hangs around.

"ahah, yeah,you have no idea."Yuke laughed, referring to the Eara had once had. Spring Bringers were no joke and the one from earlier today had made that apparent. " It's funny, isn't it, we don't seem any different aside from me being taller than you for once."

Oh gods, how Nylian wished that were true, that desperate desire shining in his golden eyes before he lowered his gaze. “It is, but…as much as I hate to disappoint you, brother mine, I’ve change,” he whispered, his voice heavy with that knowledge, his shoulders slumping a bit. Nylian couldn’t lie to himself, aware all the things Yume did to him, all she permitted the dark entities to do to him, all she forced upon him…he’d changed. Stopping a foot from the bars, a sad smile washing over his noble features, he gazed at this brother through thick lashes. “You have no idea of how much I’ve changed…and I hope you never do.”

Yuke wasn't surprised at all, he knew they would change to some degree. For one at times Yuke was extremely serious, and often surprised many people and as Nylain had just seen he humor was a bit darker. Morbid truth about it was he realized that his humor was getting darker the longer the war progressed, still he was still himself. He was still Yuke. Yuke shifted his weight to one feet," Yeah...I kinda figured, but your still quiet."He said to his brother.

Nylian nodded, unable to deny the truth. “I haven’t had much reason to be anything other than,” he admitted, slipping closer, his lithe fingers wrapping around the bars imprisoning him. Looking one way down the hallway, then the other, he realized he alone occupied that part of the dungeon. Was that because of who he was or because of who they feared he might be? Did it really matter either way? No, Nylian just glad to be home, even if he did now find himself in a position where no one trusted him, many viewing him as a traitor. Deep within, he’d known he’d face exactly this if he ever escaped Yume’s strangling hold. “I didn’t know Uncle Lathai still lived. She claimed he died…she swore everyone died.”

Ruby red eyes, something everyone could see that he was happy, that Yuke was fine, however those eyes turned into a raging ocean of sapphire. He set his jaw, Nylain didn't know how many times she had tried to kill Uncle Lathai and him, only thing is with Lathai she got close. "..Yume, the being of pure evil and that will never change,even if she sent down to the Abyss."Yuke growled softly. There are many things Yuke didn't take lightly, one of them being hate and he could not deny, nor would he deny the burning hatred he felt for that woman.

He looked away, the faint shake of his head almost imperceptible, the corners of his mouth tipping down in a deep frown. Yume…the being of pure evil… Oh, she was that and so much more, Nylian just never realizing the depth of her depravity, the extent of her cruelty. But if he accepted what he heard then as truth he had to admit the last 275 years of his life were a lie. “She… She saved me, she’s raised me, protected me,” he breathed almost desperately, his gaze locked on the floor, swearing reality hung over his head like an ominous cloud announcing his inevitable demise. “No, she…she’s helped me fight those who attacked us that night, those who…who conquered the kingdom, those who…who… No… She told me everyone died…”

[Yuke slid his eyes shut as he breathed deeply and rested a hand on his older brother shoulder. He could see this wasn't easy for Nylain, after all she would have treated him as if nothing changed. She did like Nylain as a child. Oh why did he have to be the one to tell his brother this, Uncle Lathai would most do a better job. Yuke then swallowed, remembering that night was never easy, he just wanted to forget her and what happened. "Ny..she was sending you after us, she wants this kingdom, she wants Lathai and I dead...Ny..she was the one that planned that attack so long ago. It was planed out,she knew exactly what she was doing."Yuke dove right into it, not wanting to hold off any longer. Doing so made it feel like someone slammed a brick into him, he didn't want to tell his brother this.

Nylian felt like he couldn’t breathe, every word his twin spoke sucking the life out of him, the reality laid out before him almost too much. Ducking away from Yuke, he took a hesitant step back, and then another, all the while shaking his head in denial. If only he could claim everything his brother said was a lie, but deep within…he’d always known. That Yume used him, that he’d realized and accepted long ago, but the extent she lied to him, that she forced him to attack his people, his own family. Nylian suddenly wasn’t so sure he didn’t belong exactly where he stood, waiting to be interrogated, treated like a common criminal. No, he was worse, he was the traitor the council suspected him of being, and he didn’t have the strength to deny that any longer…yet he did, at least outwardly.

“No…” he countered, struggling to swallow the lump lodged in his throat, swearing the mounting pressure on his chest would soon crush the life from him. How could he have been so blind, so naïve? How could he not have seen Yume killed their parents? Nylian slammed his eyes closed, images of the one moment in his life he could never escape rising up unbidden. His mother turning to him, their gazes locking just as the sword tore through her body, the light fading from her eyes. “No… She…” She lied to him, used him, betrayed him, but worse yet, she turned him into a traitor and he never stopped her.

Lowering his gaze, Nylian sighed heavily, the weight of everything visibly settling on his shoulders. “You shouldn’t be here. You shouldn’t have been on the field.”

Yuke's face softened up, he knew it would be hard. He didn't want to imagine what it will be like to have the person take care of you, to save you only for their needs. Even thought Yuke knew he would never deal with such news, he too experienced the pain his brother was feeling. The reality knocking on the door to your soul and racking your soul and mind, the denial was clearly make this pain worse. Yuke exhaled a shaky sigh, letting his arm rest against the middle bar. Yuke longed to reach out to his brother, to say that it's all over now to forget about what Yume had said and most likely done to him. But the bars prevented him from comforting his brother anymore. To see him fighting with reality on his own was murder to Yuke, it was too soon for him to know who Yume really was. What Yume was..but he and his big mouth let that slip out.

Yuke rested his head against the bars, as if looking for some sort of support. He felt awful for telling Nylian all this just after he had gotten him back. His heart ached with guilt. Slowly he looked up upon hearing his older brother speak to him,"..it's a little too late for you to say that."Yume retorted softly.

Nylian didn’t accept that, knowing Lathai would never willingly throw his brother into the thick of things. Perhaps if there weren’t dark entities involved and Yuke had the experience to back up the training, but not this war, not against this enemy. “No, it’s not a little too late,” he reiterated, gazing at his brother, determination to protect his twin from the horrors he knew visible in his eyes. “You have no idea, Yuke, and you shouldn’t be on that battlefield. Not against Yume, not against her pets. Not now, not ever.”

Yuke's eyes began to swirl as they began to change color yet again. He sees his brother after so long and this is what he says. This is what they end up talking about. Yuke's grip began to tighten around the bars," I'm no child, this was my choice. All of it."He said to his older brother firmly. There were so many people that kept telling him this, and on top of seeing what those beasts did to their enemy. Such a sight only made the desire of protecting people from these things grow.

“No, you’re not a child, not anymore. Trust me, I’m fully aware of growing up without you, of missing most of our childhood. But you… Yuke, you need to listen to me, to really listen to me. You have no idea of what their capable of, of what drives them…truly drives them, of what she wants,” Nylian whispered, taking a step back toward his brother, his expression not one of haughty arrogance, but rather fearful desperation. “You said it yourself. She’s trying to kill you, she wants you dead. You don’t know how you take your life in your hands every time you step anywhere close to that battlefield. You’re not ready, not for her, not for them, not for what they’ll bring down on your head.”

Yuke frowned at his older brother,Nylain had no idea that he wanted to do this. That he wanted to help and not be the one everyone is so ready to protect. Really, after so many years people trying to protect, trying to help him grew very suffocating well others were getting slaughtered. He had no idea how many times he thought that none of that was fair. For petes sakes his brother had been suffering for so long and he couldn't do anything about that for many reasons. "..Nylain.."Yuke said quietly,"..you sound like Uncle Lathai, but I want to help. I want to be out of the battle field instead being away knowing that men and woman are being torn apart! It's not right, and it's against who I am! Dose it frighten that Yume will kill me in a split second, yes, but not if I know that I'm fighting to protect the people from Yume and what family I have left!"He declared.

Furrowing his brow, lowering his gaze, Nylian shook his head and took a step back again, silently retreating. What he didn’t say was if Yume killed Yuke, she’d win, she’d succeed because Nylian wouldn’t survive the loss, not knowing he could have, should have prevented his twin’s death. Lathai…their Uncle Lathai would be left to pick up the shattered pieces of his life while trying to come to terms with losing his sister and her entire family…and likely the kingdom. As much as Nylian loved his uncle, as much as he admired the man, he wasn’t sure Lathai could survive the guilt, shame, and agony of that. He wanted to say as much, to make Yuke see how that single decision could destroy everything, but instead he stood there quietly, hiding the tears in his eyes, battling the deep ache tearing through his chest, ignoring just how numb the rest of him had gone.



Lathai sighed and slid his eyes closed, pushing off of the wall he’d leaned against as he listened to the conversation between the twins. He normally didn’t go for eavesdropping, but he’d needed to know where Yuke and Nylian stood with each other, if being ripped apart and raised separately would complicate their lives now that they were finally united. From what he’d heard, no, but it was too soon for them to discuss such a subject, too early for fight each other on this one thing. Walking around the corner, he drifted toward them, noting their individual stances, taking in their expressions, hearing what neither twin dared to say.

“You pull a stunt like you did today, Yuki, and it won’t be an issue any longer because you will not see a battlefield again,” he warned softly. Lathai wasn’t taking Nylian’s side nor Yuke’s, he was standing pat on his own. He looked over at Nylian, though, seeing the silent torment that ate at his oldest nephew. “275 years apart and this is what you chose to discuss? Yuke, look at him. Look at your brother. He’s tired, he’s drained, and this…this is something that can wait until he regains his footing. Fortunately, the council has seen reason and has approved your release, Nylian, but…they are insisting on an escort and you are not permitted to leave the castle.”

Yuke bit his lower lip, and step back from the cell. Nylain may have felt numb to all emotion, but Yuke didn't. The younger brother stepped back until there was half a feet between him and the prison cell, he crossed his arms and looked away. He didn't want to look at Ny right now, after all they had just gotten into a fight after 275 years. So long,he thought a hand going to his side. He didn't want to fight about this. To even talk about this. If any thing his mind was screaming for him to apologize and comfort his older brother.

His head snapped in the direction that he thread Lathai voice come from. Instantly he cringed, recalling what had happened earlier on the battle field and then having to an angry Lathai. He did smile when he heard that Ny was free. "Really,..I know a guard isn't that great but he doesn't have to stay down here?"He asked just to be sure, acting as if this was all some sort of dream or something.

“Depends on how you chose to view the guard. The council believes the guard’s duty is to watch Nylian. I, on the other hand, know the guard’s duty is to watch over Nylian,” Lathai pointed out, unlocking the door, stepping aside as his oldest nephew stepped out of the cell. Without hesitation, Lathai pulled Nylian into a loving embrace, hold him close. Once he had the oldest twin in his arms, he dragged Yuke over, hugging him just as warmly, just as lovingly. “You’re home, Nylian. That’s all that matters to Yuke and me, that’s all we care about. The rest we’ll figure out, but you’re home.”


Nylian sank against his uncle, clinging to the man, needing to know this wasn’t a dream, that Lathai and Yuke wouldn’t fade into wisps of smoke and slip out of his arms. Perhaps for that reason, when their uncle pulled his twin close, he spun and held his brother close. He knew he trembled, aware those tears he’d held back now slipped down his cheeks, but he didn’t care. Nylian feared, for 275 years, that Yume spoke to the truth, that his twin died, and the bond he felt was little more than a remnant, proof he couldn’t let go of his brother. To actually be there with Yuke, to feel his twin in his arms, to finally know his family didn’t die that night so long ago gave him strength and, yet, left him weak with relief. After all Yume did to him, to be surrounded by those he dearly loved did more for him than he doubted Lathai or Yuke could even begin to imagine…but he couldn’t lose his twin, not now, not to battle, not to Yume.

“Please, Yuke, please…don’t go back out there…”
