Tears welded in Lily's pale eyes, five years was how long Leo had been again. Simply vanished, and now he was facing the dungeons if he continued to remain quiet. Lily grabbed Leo by his shoulders and looked into his pale circle like eyes. He avoided any eye contact, he didn't want to look at her at the moment..not when he wanted t hide what he was thinking. What he was considering at the moment.

"..Leo..please, tell him the truth.."Lily said to her younger son very softly, and wiped a tear from his pale face. So white, so fragile but all anyone could see was how pale he was. The fact that he was slowly shattering inside would remain a secret.

"..I..I..cannot.."Leo replied just as softly, if not much more softly then his own mother. Lily looked over at Lathai, the twins and then finally,back at Leo. He needed to answer the king, not stand there and remain silent. He couldn't stay here, and Lily wasn't to keen of the idea of Leo being locked up in a dungeon.

"...mo..ther,I'm so sorry."Leo whispered, he made up his mind in case the king pushed on the matter.

Lathai watched on in silence, hoping Lily could talk some sense into her son. He had no real desire to put Leo in the dungeon, the young man the reason the council finally agreed to let Nylian out of the damned place. However, he couldn’t let the youth run about the castle, pose as a councilman, and do as he pleased without some kind of an explanation. Lathai glanced at his twins, his loyalty to them first and foremost, his drive to protect them, his need to shelter them. The secrets Leo insisted on keeping could very well be a threat to them, their safety, their sanity. Simply put, Leo spoke or he would spend some time in the dungeon, the youth apparently unwilling to share everything he knew or why he was there, what his intentions were.

“Serena, arrest the young man and escort him to the dungeon,” Lathai stated firmly with a shake of his head, his gaze lowered.

Serena stepped in the room very quietly, her eyes were shut as she strode over to the imposter and Lady Lily. She went to take another step but the young lady, or Lily had decided to step in her way. Serena's eyes opened when she had realized this, and then her eyes narrowed. Lily didn't seem willing to let Leo get taken down to the dungeon, but how could she be. That was her son, she wasn't going to allow them to throw him in the dungeon.

"..please..please don't do this.."Lily said softly, almost a whisper.

The solider looked at her general, then back down at Lily and Leo. She had a job to do, and if she seemed heartless at the moment it wasn't her fault. The boy was the one that wasn't answering General Lathai, the one that ordered her to take him into custody. Serena crossed her arms over her chest, and tapped her foot as she waited very patiently to see what would happen.

A soft sigh whispered through him, Lathai none too happy about how any of this was going down. He just didn’t see any other way, not so long as Leo insisted on keeping silent, on keeping his secrets. Without a word, he walked over and gently moved the poor Lady Lily out of the way, giving Serena a faint nod. He felt like a complete and total jerk about all of this, ashamed of having the poor lady’s son arrested in front of her, of preventing her from protecting her own son. He knew how he’d feel if he were in her position and someone stopped him from protecting his nephews, but in a roundabout way…Leo did exactly that.

“I’m sorry, Lady Lily. I truly am,” he admitted, gazing into her beautiful blue eyes. “He gives me no choice.”



Nylian stood silent as everything unfolded, once again his homecoming taking a turn that pulled his return home far from all he’d wanted. This, though, this was just outright heartbreaking, Lady Lily trying so hard to spare her son, her son stoically refusing to speak, and his Uncle Lathai put in a bad situation. When things hit the point of no return, he glanced at Yuke, took his twin’s hand, and stepped forward. He doubted Leo would listen to him anymore than the youth had anyone else, but he had to try.

“Leo, just tell my uncle what he wants to know. Don’t do this to your mother. Don’t do this to Uncle Lathai,” he whispered, tightening his hold on his brother’s hand. “This isn’t what anyone wants. Just…just talk.”

Lily went pale, did he just seriously do that to her. That was her baby, she already felt bad enough for leaving her other baby and now this? Tears welded in her pale blue eyes, this wasn't happening. The woman wanted to fight back, to save her son but the way he reacted had stunned her into silence. He really wasn't going to speak,no matter what she said, or anyone he wasn't going to speak. "No.."Lily spoke to Lathai very softly, taking a step away from him. Her mind was spinning.

Serena looked down at the imposter and nodded her head at the door. Leo, at first didn't move..he hated this. But the prince, both princes were in the room along with his mother. He had intended to talk to the king later and alone, not with a full audience.

Yuke swallowed, this wasn't any easier for him to watch. Actually, this child was getting on his nerves, if he spoke none of this would have happened. He let out a long sigh, none of this was right, nor fair. Couldn't all this drama take a rest and wait until next week or something, his brother was back so why did all of this have to follow? Yuke looked at Nylain when his brother reached for his hand, he offered his older brother a tried smile... and then it faded when Leo spoke to Nylain, at least he replied to his brother.

"..not now, my apologizes your majesty."Was what he said before Serena led him out of their uncles room.

Lathai sighed softly as Serena escorted Leo from his rooms, the weight of what he’d just done settling heavily on his shoulders. Nothing he could do about that, his responsibility, his greatest concern the safety and happiness of his nephews. Looking briefly at the lady, he turned to his nephews with a tired smile, just glad…overjoyed to see them standing side by side again. A beautiful sight he partially owed to Leo, Lathai keenly aware of that, aware the youth fought to free Nylian from the dungeon while the real counsel demanded the young prince interrogated and treated like a common criminal.

“Boys, go eat and get some rest. Don’t worry about any of this or me,” he murmured softly, trying to hide from his nephews just how tired he was at that moment. “I’m fine, thanks to the lovely Lady Lily. You two, on the other hand, you need to spend some time together. Off with you now.”


Nylian slid his eyes closed and shook his head, unsure why Leo insisted on keeping silent, on why he insisted on putting his mother through this. Then again, why did anyone do the things they did, never stopping to think about the people they hurt along the way? He didn’t have the answers, his gaze flickering from his twin to their uncle, aware of the weariness clinging to the man, of the stress and strain Lathai tried to hide from them.

He looked toward Leo’s mother, his heart going out to the poor woman standing there so heartbroken and confused. “Thank you, Lady Lily, for helping our uncle,” he whispered, glancing at his brother. “I am hungry…”

Lily sighed, she had been wishing and wondering what would happen if she got to him sooner. Would any of this happen the same way? She hated that Leo had to keep his secrets, why did he insist on doing such things when he knew it would make things so much worse than before. Lily's pale gaze went to the king as he spoke, his mouth spoke but she didn't hear anything. This must have been everything finally sinking in. Five years was how long he had been here, and she finally found him only for him to get thrown in a dungeon. It killed her, or that's how this odd guilt made her feel. In other words this totally sucked and it depended on one person to change all of that.

Yuke swallowed, his red eye went pink. That was painful for him to watch, why didn't Leo just speak. He could feel the tears forming in his pale eyes but he didn't allow a single one to slide down his pale face. With his free hand he wiped the tears away before that ever happened. He then looked at his uncle, who was he fooling, he could see the strain his uncle was going through. He was actually angry at him, but at the same time he envied his uncle's determination to stand as strong as he could no matter what happened. Things like that is what wanted Yuke to be more like his uncle, to him it simply made sense.

"..Thank you, Lady Lily, for helping our uncle,”Yuke had said at the same time as his twin, but louder. He looked at Ny and nodded, Yue wasn't really hungry but Nylain needed to eat. "..let's go."He said to him with a small nod.

Managing a weak smile, Nylian lead the way for once, pulling his brother after him, closing the door to his uncle’s rooms. He paused then, his eyes closed, his elegant brow furrowing hard. What he saw in there broke his heart, Leo refusing to speak, the Lady Lily suffering brutally for that simple act, Lathai caught in the middle of the bloody mess. This wasn’t the homecoming he’d wanted, the homecoming he’d hoped for, but it would seem this was what he had to work with. Sighing softly again, he turned to Yuke, Nylian resting his forehead against his brother’s, a sad smile tugging at his gentle features.



The moment the boys left, Lathai let out a slow breath, his shoulders slumping, and his head lowered. Truth be told, he wanted nothing more than to crawl into his bed and just let the day pass him by despite the fact his sweet nephew finally returned home. He couldn’t do that, though, not when such a lovely lady stood just a few feet away, her heart visibly broken by her son’s stubborn refusal to speak honestly. Scratching his brow, bracing himself for whatever might come, Lathai chose to do what he could to comfort her. After all, he owed her at least that much, the lovely lady saving his life, and going well out of her way for him…only to have him toss her son into the dungeon.

“Lovely Lady Lily,” he murmured softly, closing the distance between them, gently tucking his fingers under her delicate chin, guiding her to meet his gaze. “I cannot apologize enough for what’s happened here, for my orders. I owe you far more than this, but all I can do is hope you understand that I’m desperately trying to protect my nephews.”

Yuke bit his lip, all of this was holding onto his heart. It felt like someone was pulling his heart up through his chest to his throat and squeezed. He let in a lot of air before sighing heavily and let his own shoulders slump forward. This day could, no it should have been better than this. Nylain was home and still suffering, honestly how cruel could the fates be. "..come on, you said you were hungry didn't you?"Yuke said with a weak smile. He could at least try to make things right for his twin.


Lily quickly snapped her head in the ot5he direction,"A thank you will suffice, and you're welcome...and it's not your fault..that's just Leo. I just don't see why you would view a kid like him as a threat."She spoke softly, she wore her heart on her sleeve that was clear. Lily wanted to remain calm and act like everything was fine so no one started fighting but she was finding that really hard to do at the moment. She swallowed as a shudder passed through her.

Gently cupping the side of Yuke’s face, his smile deepening, Nylian nodded in quiet agreement. “Okay,” he agreed, more than willing to do whatever his twin suggested or wanted. There were those who found that habit strange, Nylian the older twin, but Yuke the dominant one. Nylian, however, didn’t care, nor did his twin. They knew how things were between them, both rather comfortable with the intricacies of their relationship. “I am…and you need to eat, too, if for no other reason than having the pleasure of sitting down to a meal together after so many years apart.”



Mentally wincing, Lathai took a step back and shook his head. “I learned a long time ago not to take anything for granted. Yes, your son is young, but considering he’s managed to infiltrate the council, utterly fool countless people, and has actually performed the duty of a councilman quite well… I’m sorry, Lady Lily, but he’s proven he’s far from helpless, far from harmless,” he explained rather bluntly, although he kept his tone soft and gentle. Lathai had no desire to hurt Lily, only to express to her the legitimacy of his actions. “I understand your desire to help and protect your son, but I stand in the same position. I just got Nylian back after 275 years, Lady Lily, and…right now…your son’s silence is simply not something I can risk. I can’t take a chance I’d be serving Nylian right back up to Yume. I hope that, as a parent, you can understand that.”

Yuke nodded gently and then smiled,"Well then, let's go!"He said cheerfully. He took his older brothers wrist and started off towards the dining hall. He left all of those problems behind him instead of focusing on the bad. It really was better to go with the flow, well your own flow and smooth things over well you had the chance. And that was exactly what Yuke was doing, and would always do.



Lily crossed her arms yet again, she didn't want to hear any of this. It has nothing that dealt with what had just happened, more like what he had been doing in the past fives years. What was that boy thinking, honestly this was insanity..or typical Leo. And Leo was defaintly far from harmless, that was a given as soon as he opened his mouth. Lily did look at Lathai when he told her what had happened to Nylain, and a pale hand fell over her mouth. With a soft shudder she uncovered her mouth. "..as a parent I know what it feels like to lose my youngest son to Yume for the better part of 300 and something years."She said to him.

Nylian couldn’t help but laugh faintly, his twin’s enthusiasm contagious…at least to the extent that he went where his brother took him, a boyish grin tugging at his elegant features. Soon enough, they reached the dining hall, the enticing aroma of fresh, hot rolls washing over him. “Oh gods above, that smells perfectly divine. In fact, I’d love nothing more than a bowl of stew with several rolls,” he admitted, his mouth watering, his stomach rumbling loudly. “I’ve missed this so much.”


He knew from her reaction that Lily knew exactly what it was like to lose a loved one to Yume, what it was to suffer that kind of hell. “She killed their parents, Lady Lily. She infiltrated this household, posed as a maid, opened the castle up to attack, killed half my family, and took my oldest nephew. But she didn’t stop there. No, not Yume. She used Nylian against us, forced him to attack his own people, his own kingdom, his own family,” Lathai stated quietly, trying not to let it show just how hard standing there like that was, how much strength he used just to remain on his own two feet. “Perhaps knowing that will help you to understand why your son’s refusal to speak is not well met…particularly knowing he suffered Yume’s twisted brand of evil.”

Yuke smiled before laughing, his bothers reaction was priceless and exactly what he had hoped for. "Hmm, but there's so much more Ny, are you really only going to eat the rolls?"Yuke inquired stepping ahead of his older twin. What he smelt right away was a nice smell of meat, he loved meat. Steak, ham, their version of chicken etc. His mouth began to water, he was hungrier then he had realized,"..ah food."He said with a wide smile.

Lily didn't seemed phased by any of this. None of this has surprised Lily, she was defiantly killer and defiantly a user. If anyone in Leo's actual family had been alive he would have used him against them. Well that is if Yume could actually mange to fool Leo. When she wanted something done, like betrayal or something worse she would have Leo possessed. She sighed."..are you suggesting that he would work for her?"She asked Lathai,Lily looked horrified by the very thought.

Chuckling in amusement, Nylian shook his head as he headed over to sink down at the table. “Actually, Yuke, that’s really what I want. A nice, hot, meaty stew, rolls…several, some cheese, and a good ale. I’m a simple man with simple tastes,” he teased, ducking his head, and shooting his twin a decidedly boyishly innocent look.



Something warned he tread on very uneasy territory here, Lathai wise enough to know an outright accusation would not end pleasantly. “No, my dear Lady Lily,” he countered, turning to pace away…and almost ending up face first on the floor. His wounds were healed, yes, but he’d lost too much blood, his body screaming for the downtime he desperately needed. Would that life cooperated just once, but things just weren’t that easy. Quickly righting himself, rubbing at his eyes, he continued softly, “I’m stating, quite bluntly, that I need to know exactly what his intentions are, what his purpose is before I can release him from the dungeon. If he’d just answered to begin with, Lady Lily, if he’d just told me what he intended…things never had to go this way. I’m just not willing to take chances right now. I’m sorry if you can’t understand that, I truly am.”

"Well you would be a man if we were adults." Yuke pointed out to his brother with a chuckle. He then sat down across from his brother. The food really did smell good,especially since he didn't eat anything before the battle. His stomach twisted at the thought of what he had seen, Yuke came really close to pushing his plate away. Instead, he laughed trying to forget that.



Lily crossed her arms again and frowned at Lathai. If he meant something else then he certainly had a funny way of explaining things. The young woman winced when he fell, and instantly went to help. What could she say, she was a good person, a doctor and a mother. She wasn't the type to let someone suffer no matter what they did or said very recently. "..Leo...he won't answer you. Your not the one he wants to talk to, but he wasn't going to say that to you. My younger son is complicated, like a puzzle that has very good intentions."Lily informed him, and then wondered if he could make it to his bed without falling again.

He felt the flash of pain, the deep sorrow that ripped through his twin, his golden gaze flickering over to his brother. Nylian didn’t say anything, though, not when Yuke tried so hard to move past things and keep the mood upbeat and carefree. “Well, no, at least one of us is an adult,” he purred with a smile, keeping his gaze locked on his food. “But do not worry. You’ll eventually catch up, little brother.”



“I don’t know what to tell you then, dear Lady Lily,” Lathai said softly, nodding in silently gratitude for her help. Wisely returning to his bed, he sank down on the edge, his head lowered, his pale eyes veiled by a thick fringe of obsidian lashes. What he hid was a reflection of the trouble and exhaustion weighing him down. This was a mess. This was just a bloody damned mess and he wasn’t in the right frame of mind to deal with any of it. He needed some sleep, just a few hours and he’d be good to go, more able to handle everything going on, and make decisions that made sense. “Except to say that this will not be settled until your son, in all his complexities, chooses to enlighten me or you as to his purpose and intent here and on the council. As lovely as you are, as beautiful as you are, as much as I’d love to give you what you want…I need to know that one thing.”
