A warm greeting. I am new to this community but not new to doing this hobby. I've been doing collaborative writing for years. I'm looking for a community that is a good fit for me.

In RP, I tend to write multi para and novella. I can get very descriptive, psychological, and poetic. However, I'm adaptable to my writing partners. Right now, I want to fall in love with writing again.

My favorite genres include supernatural, modern, modern fantasy, slice of life, mystery and suspense, true crime, historical, comics, science fiction, and steampunk. I write as good guys, villains, and anti-heroes/vigilantes. I do fandom characters (usually my own take and interpretation that differs from what already exists) and original characters.

I am selective about romance. I'm more interested in storytelling than having characters pair up. If it happens naturally within the progression of a story, that's fine. I'm a 37-year-old writer, and I won't engage in romantic stories with a writer significantly younger than me. My parameters are 25+ for any kind of romance, this is for my comfort. I also won't write huge IC age gap pairings. Making this clear because I've run into issues with this in other communities. I like the rating requirements here.

For a living, I work in retail. I also am returning to college this fall to get a second bachelor's degree.
Congrats on working to get your second degree! I think you'll find a robust scene for all your genres of choice here on RPR!
Hello, welcome to the site! :)
Welcome!
I would recommend you put those parameters in your profile, so potential writing partners can review before they engage. People are super respectful of boundaries here, in my experience (I have similar ones you listed), and have found wonderful writing partners in my time here.
Hope you find the same soon =)

Not to sound all cheeky or anything, but oh my heck, you sound remarkably like me in so many ways. I am also a licensed character player (my own interpretation which is usually an all-across-the-board depiction of books, comics, television, and cinematic, but I see you and your genres and fandom preferences). Yet, I don't tend to do well with original characters. I have a hard time committing to them and wind up growing bored or restless and will often ditch them.

I am a fellow appreciator of all your labeled genres and am not much into the romance scene myself. I fell out of writing some years back due to life and circumstances beyond my power, but have recently within the last year to date, been trying to motivate myself into old hobbies. Novella and para are my schtick as well, so another notch for the likenesses!

I look forward to seeing what sort of characters you pull out of your magic hat. If you are hankerin' for a post, might I suggest the Forum Games. I'm extraordinarily busy with work myself, so sidling into the Forum Games has helped scratch the itch, as it were.

Kudos on the schoolin'! Another thing to bond over -- academic strains! I miss it and sure, I'm glad to have the degree, but by gosh, it was one helluva an experience.

If you have any questions or just wanna gush over your fandoms, feel free to hit me up! I'm slow to reply, but I always get back to folks when I am able! Enjoy the site! The community is pretty bombdiggity. :)
