Dear roleplayers of RP Repository,

hi, I'm Balert, and I am currently the leading developer behind the production of a new text-based discord roleplay server, functioning as a reboot of an older game by the name of 'Eternal Conflict' (EC).

EC had a plethora of gameplay, lore, character and general activity issues that led to a collective decision to cease development, and start anew, taking the elements that we loved the most and combining them with new systems.

Honestly, in it's current condition, Re:Boot (our current placeholder name for the server) is far more of a passion project, with few remaining 'veterans' from EC. Furthermore, I am the primary individual creating new lore documents and setting up the server, a tall task due to the unfortunate reality, of well, reality. I am currently in my last year of senior education, meaning my schedule is very busy as well.

However, me and many others have experienced many unforgettable memories roleplaying in EC, and it feels wrong to let it die here.

For this reason, I am reaching out to RP repository to ask for expressions of interest - to prove to myself and the others that this is more than just a sideproject, sucking the creative juices from my ears.

Here is an introduction from the server's #getting-started channel.
"{Re:Boot} is an interactive roleplay world focussing on the multidimensional alliance known as ‘The Order of The Realms’ (TOR). This organization maintains the integrity of the ‘realms;’ separate dimensions containing their own instances of civilizations at varying levels of technological and cultural advancement.

TOR uses a magical technology known as ‘gates,’ sourced by the mystical power of ‘Duinn,’ to traverse across Mana Leylines and intervene with supernatural realm-related shenanigans. Players will play as agents who work for TOR - solving mysteries related to the potential return of the Abyssal Cult and engaging in perilous missions throughout unexplored realms to maintain peace throughout the Leylines.

Is it fair for one organization to hold so much power? Is TOR really defending the realms from supernatural events or just exacerbating them? These are moral perplexities left to the players to decide.

Throughout your experience in R:B, you can expect to interact with various ‘Static Characters (SCs)’ played by moderators and trusted individuals. which will serve as vassals for driving plot, player character development and more.

Players are encouraged to read the plethora of lore documents pertaining to R:B to grasp a better understanding of various inworld systems e.g: magic, summons, realms and representatives. Regardless, this is not strictly necessary and will ideally be picked up vicariously throughout roleplay."

Currently, the server contains:
- More than 8 (known) 'good guy' Static Characters, to function as devices played by trusted players to progress the plot.
- An in-depth, universal and original magic system allowing for consistency among characters.
- Literally unlimited potential lore documents because I am potentially clinically insane.
- The structure for a novel, highly experimental hybrid of D&D-like roleplay and text-based roleplay performed in sessions alongside Gamemasters.
- The facilitation of a realtime (imaginary) world taking place in channels so that roleplay is not restricted to schedules.
- An original universe that is eerily similar to how the multiverse functions in the new spiderman movie despite being created before that.
- An admin that bleeds from the ears because he spends more time writing roleplay documents than working on assignments!

If an interactive world with (a?) highly transparent lore writer(s) that prioritise character development in players stands out to you, please let me know. There are many more documents available, particularly detailing how our new hybrid, session-based-roleplaying will work, and more.

I cannot guarantee that development will continue as I approach final exams, but I truly believe the potential for roleplay here is something unique and special. If this receives enough attention from the community, perhaps we can invest time in recruiting new lore writers and moderators, to breathe some life back into the server and make it a functioning ecosystem.

For now, if you want an invite, let me know. More specific examples of the documentation I speak of exists within the server. I would also love some active testers to make sure important documents are clear, straight-forward and the entry process is easy.

I’d honestly be really interested, even if I wasn’t that active… which is likely, but at least I have my summer holidays now. I’d love an invite!
