I was going to post this in Smalltalk, but since it is about our RP characters...
Do you write individual stories about your characters, outside of RP? Do you convert RPs into more standardly-written stories? Do you share any of these stories in your characters profile or elsewhere, whether as something intrinsic to their being or simply as something to provide greater depth?
I've done backstories for a few, full narratives rather than just overviews. Kyra, Julian, and Black Orchid are examples of that. Another character (who isn't posted here) went from an NPC to a PC, and things played out interestingly enough that I intend to use the basic idea of what happened to created a stand-alone story with her, possibly a novel.

Actually, a lot of my RP characters started off as independent characters of novels or short stories.
The few that have actual short stories attached to their profiles would be Sterling Argentum, Samuel Clemens, Hunter Argentum and Zeke O'Malley. To name a few.
Otherwise, characters like Cody Wesson, Clutch, Arien, and Sterling have their own stories in various stages of completion. Wesson's novel is ALMOST done--and I'm looking to self-publish it soon. So that'll be fun.

Ah, cool. You sound much more productive than me.
It's only because of NaNoWriMo, really, that I have so many novel characters. And then there's the occasional 'one-shot' that I just have to write regarding my characters when I get that crazy, ridiculous scene in my head.
Samuel Clemens actually has quite a few funny stories on his profile. He gets stuck in a revolving door and the firemen are called in to get him out.

Nice. I might have to take a peek at that.
Just about all of my characters are from books I've written. RP will sometimes spark a new facet of their past for me, and I'll go back and write another book for them. It goes around nicely like that.
In addition, I only started RP because I needed to test my character's tenacity and bravery under stressful conditions that I did not control. By learning what "he'd" do in alien circumstances, I ended up with better insight for him to better flesh out his book.
