Greetings fellow Harry Potter fans!
I am finally catching up on the Harry Potter books after a VERY LONG time and find myself itching for a roleplay to write or two.
Before we delve into the plot and other details, I'd like to go over RP Preferences / Partner Expectations:
1. Please be active.
2. Absolutely NO controlling my character(s) without my permission.
3. Be courteous.
4. I am looking for literate to advanced writers; at least 2 paragraphs minimum (I would really like a writing sample; I will provide one below later.)
5. I ONLY roleplay over PM's.
6. I ONLY write M/F gender-paired-romances.
7. Romantic content MUST be kept at the PG - PG13 level.
8. I have no issues with dark themes being included.
9. Please use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation; I want to be able to understand what you have written to me.
10. I ask that THIRD person is used during roleplay; first is uncomfortable for me.
11. I don't mind overly powerful characters, so long as they have at least SOME kind of weakness.
PLOT
It's another year at Hogwarts. The famed school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But it's not just any other year. This year, Harry Potter, the-boy-who-lived, has finally been accepted and will be attending this year. Along with many other First Year students. What will happen this year? Will their be darkness? Friendship? Mystery? Only time will tell it seems...And of course, attending...
WRITING SAMPLE
Many students stared amazed at the huge castle. They had just finished crossing the river over magically charmed boats, Hagrid, the Groundskeeper, at the front. Now, the students were awaiting at the large wooden doors that would open up to the Great Hall. The ceiling of the Hall bewitched to mirror the sky outside. By now, it was dark. Hundreds and hundreds of stars sparkled above. Watching down on them like many twinkling eyes.
Amongst the sea of amazed and curious faces, was Katelyn Whims. Like Harry Potter, Katelyn had lived with Muggle families and in orphanages until now. Lord Voldemort had destroyed her parents and home of the Wizarding World when her parents refused to serve him. Her mother was a vampire and very powerful in the Dark Arts. Her father a powerful Dark Arts caster and Duelist. Knowing this, Lord Voldemort had attempted to recruit them. But refusing, having just had Katelyn, Lord Voldemort destroyed them. Many nights Katelyn had dreams with a blinding green light and screams of death. Green fire burning around her as she cried. But unlike Harry Potter, she was a nobody. In fact, Katelyn's home had been Voldemort's next stop after Harry Potter's home had been destroyed.
Now, Katelyn stood amongst her own kind, a witch in an emerald green hat and matching robes having instructed them to wait in the entry hall. The woman appeared to be quite strict. The woman was Professor MacGonagall, the teacher of Transfiguration classes. Katelyn stood next to a boy with pale blonde hair and steely gray eyes. Little did she know that was Draco Malfoy, who was flanked by two larger boys that acted like his bodyguards. He was kind of cute. She also had no idea that Harry Potter himself was amongst the First Years.
She let out a long deep breath, wanting to go to the next step. Curious as to what this sorting event was that she had mentioned. Sorted into their houses? She had no idea, though they would soon find out. At least she wasn't the only one who looked nervous.
(I can write more / less, it just all depends on my muse and the current place in our roleplay).

Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Modern
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romance is desired but not required, and will balance evenly with other plot.
Details: Character sheets & strict mechanics, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred.
