Welcome back! RP tends to be that way in my experience as well. I'll go long stretches without it and then suddenly feel as though I have so many ideas bursting to escape. I call it "reverse writer's block". Check out the Looking For RP forums if you're not sure where to jump in!
Commas are my favorite! I don't know that I use them correctly either, I just sort of place them in the areas where they feel at home. If you're ever really curious, try Google image searching "comma rules" or "comma usage" for some helpful infographics.

I have tried haha, but it just doesn't seem to stick, i just try my best to put them where it seems there would be a pause of sorts xD
