"Yeah" she sighed. "Still, if I earned enough money and got things sorted out, I would go there." Holly had enough money to support herself and her half-siblings but nothing huge.
He put his hands in his pockets as they walked, and smiled softly at her. "Think I'll get my ornithopter back?"
Sbe shrugged. "I don't know. Will it still be there? And if it's there do you think you can fix it?"
"Those are my questions too," he sighed and scratched the back of his head.
She glanced back the way they came. "Chances are it won't be touched. People don't know what it is, this sort of stuff doesn't usually get noticed" Holly said. She said 'usually noticed' because there were some cases where she saw some people engineering some machines.
"The police are there. They'll confiscate it..." he mused and closed his eyes as he turned his face to the sky.
She looked at him. "If that's the case I can get it back for you". Nearly all of Holly's life relied on stealing.
"Do you realize you'd need a a crane to lift it? And a garage to hide it, and I would need all the parts to fix it. They might even just scrap it... I'll have to send a telegram to my grandparents..." he sighed.
"I'm sure there is a way to get it back" Holly replied reassuringly. "And this is quite a big city, I'm sure there is a garage nearby." It was a big city and was very easy to get lost in. This was part of the reason that Holly didn't go out very often. "By the way, how much do your grandparents know about you building things like this?"
"They knew all about it," he shrugged, "They didn't think it would work, but they knew about it."
She nodded. "I'm sure we can get it back somehow." she glanced at where the machine was. "Do you just live with your grandparents?"
"While I'm here, yes," he nodded.
"Where do you learn to build all this stuff?" Holly was intrested in all this. Being at school, no one taught anyone how to build machines like that
"I get books," he shrugged, "And I'm friends with mechanics around town, so I can get spare parts."
She nodded. "What's it like having friends?"
He blushed a little bit at the rather sudden and somewhat odd question.
"W-what do you mean?"
"W-what do you mean?"
She realized that her question wasn't exactly what most people asked. "Nothing, nevermind." Holly said trying to change the topic to something else.
He hesitated before nodding and looked straight ahead.
"It's a shame you're stuck here…"
"It's a shame you're stuck here…"
"Yeah" her voice was of longing. "There's nothing I can do though, all I can do is try to improve how I am living"
"Well, your life doesn't seem bad…" he shrugged.
