InsaneShadow has been kind enough to make my post a lot more understandable.

I was sitting down yesterday when an idea came to me. It was an idea for an interactive fictional steampunk community. However, rather than it being words on a page, it would be pictures and descriptions, interactive on a level that would let you explore the region and discover amazing things! Then I realized something, I don't have the art capabilities to do that, and although I know the general gist of the city, it would need someone who loves architecture to lay it out.

This is when the second idea came. Like many fictional worlds, this one would require a team. But why use a team when it can be opened up to an entire community!? So this, my friends, is what I want to do should interest be taken in this.

People from RPR, or friends of RPRians, can band together to contribute to help create this, for there are jobs of all kinds or people to take, and they can range from big to small. Things include:

- Citizen Profiles
- News papers
- City architecture (mind you it shall be small)
- An incredible amount of art work
- Background stories
- Economy
- Other creative ideas
- And as so much more that can be created as more people contribute
-(Heck, even re writing this post to make it easier to understand!)

Now while I personally find the idea of this freaking cool, I know many may still be reserved, and not want to put their own works out there for the public. So, to address this, I thought there could be a credits page to show who worked on what an everyone's rolls in this. That way artists can display their works (and have a link to them, ie DeviantArt), writers can boast of their pieces, and everyone can show off their contribution.

Despite what I hope to be benefits for participating, it will still be kept as fun and awesome as possible!

Now I am leaving the explanation at that, for I feel I may already have started losing people with my rambling. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS to clear up any confusion. I shall later edit in a Q&A part should this become popular.

What say ye' RPRians?

P.S.- Until the time comes for an official name, I am calling it Armosa.

And now we finally have Tasks! If you think of anything else that must be done soon, please let me know. Also please inform me of any tasks you wish to take so that I may put you down for it!

TASKS!
The entire essence of the creative element of this project. I shall add and remove tasks as they are filled or ready to be filled. As it is, the following tasks are ready to be completed by this loving community! More shall show up as these become completed. Some, like items creation and character profiles, will be open the entire time.
  • General Map*
  • History*
  • Fashion (steampunk based)
  • Character Profiles (Any and all are welcome, and most will try to be added. If there is somehow an overflow then it will be addressed later)
  • Item Creation (Steampunk items are personally one of my favorite things! These can range from cool little bits, to the weapons for guards, civilians, and etc to common items such as the radio. Feel free to go as in depth as you like! Descriptions of appearance (even a sketch) are very helpful)
  • Architecture
  • Scenic Design*
  • Website Art** (font, logo, etc. Completely unnecessary, just to look cool)

*Please Consult Me
** Does not impact development.
SOUNDS AWESOMEEEEEEE. :D

Ouch, but yes, thank you very much. I shall edit your version into the top so that people can understand my ramblings.

sounds interesting!
Oh, I'm interested too! Sounds fun!

It's wonderful to see people interested! I most of the frame work done ( started that while I waited for interest to be generated). I should have projects up tomorrow, then anyone can come claim a project, do it, and turn it so that I may put it into the website that I am using to create the interactive aspect of this.
It's ambitious and sounds like a beautiful concept. Sort of a Paper Mario meets Quest For Glory and Dungeons & Dragons? To further simplify it. If that's off-base then what would be some specific points of inspiration for artists?

Also...if it's that big of an idea you might consider kickstarter.

TASKS ARE UP! ANY INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING NOW CAN!

@Fiaryn
The only one I have played out of those three is Dungeons and dragons, so I am not quite able to answer that question. I guess in some aspects it may be like D&D, with the way you can explore things. I sort of think of it like creating one city in skyrim, drawing up the details of everyone on paper, collecting items, art, and other pieces to make it more realistic, and then compiling them. The interactive aspect (which is how I connect it to D&D from your question) is that although it is a click to move (as in one frame= one large movement, so you would not necessarily play as a character, but would still be able to explore), there are certain things in each area that a user can click on to open so they can learn information or discover a new area. I personally have no coding abilities, or abilities to make any sort of legit game at all, so I am using different pages on the site for ten to travel (if you zoomed in to a specific island it would be a new page, etc).

As for kick starter, it is a very good idea and I thank you! However, I'm not sure it will grow THAT big. Thank you for the idea though! If money comes into play (which would only happen if this became VERY popular) then I shall make sure to use it.
I can help with character profiles :)

Awesome! Just shoot me the character when you are done with him/her. No limits on characters being taken!
I can start a fashion line/ city architecture.
