What I mean is, I'd like to now and then add cameo characters that I have profiles for in my private PM RPs so the other person can have reference for their profiles and such, but currently, it's impossible - or I'm just too tired to notice it. Of course, I could always link it in OOC chat, but it would've been nice to have them added in 'in the conversation' list and all. Would that be possible?

If you want to add one of your own characters to an existing PM conversation, all you have to do is select that character from the dropdown menu above the text box and reply as that character. :) That character will be listed in the right sidebar for as long as the conversation keeps going.

If you mean you want to add other people's characters to an existing PM conversation, I don't believe this is possible yet. You'd have to start a new conversation and add all the recipients, including the old and new ones. It would be really nice if we could add and remove people from a conversation in the future. I believe Kim has something along these lines planned, but I don't know the specifics.

Hope this helped!

Sanne is correct that you can add your own characters at will, simply by changing who you want to respond as.

Adding/removing characters that belong to other people who were not originally in the conversation is something I'm a little on the fence about. The assumption when sending a PM is that it is private, not that at some point in the future a bushel of entirely new people will be invited to read the whole thread. >.> So I ponder.

I hadn't even thought of that! I was thinking of an approval system for all people involved but that seems like it would be a nightmare for both you to code and for the end-users who have large group PMs and need approval from all those involved, some of whom may no longer be active. <.< So that doesn't sound like much of a solution to me either.

Hm, what I meant is, how about having a message from more than one character? Like, more than one is involved in that reply.
It doesn't have to be whole new person that can be invited, but in past, for example, you could send it to more than one person or character in subject line when replying, which you can't anymore.
But I guess, when needed, I can switch RP to new character's perspective for that introduction post so I don't feel like breaking character when I change sender and still write from original character's point of view.

You can definitely still send a PM to more than one person/character when you initiate the conversation. However, each individual message can only be sent by one person or character at a time. That hasn't changed.

It sounds like what you're describing is a situation wherein one character talks about/references a second character, without that second character actually being present in the RP, and you are wanting to add that second character to the list of conversation participants so it is available for easy clicking?

I would say that that character, if it is not actually present and won't be posting, shouldn't be listed as a conversation participant, since they actually aren't. Your method of just pasting a link is the much more semantically sensical route, if that is the situation you are describing.

No, I meant, another character cameos for a while in the RP, but s/he would be slightly more of a NPC, perhaps, or maybe eventually become full-fledged character of RP, depending how it goes. But if that happens, I guess I can change the sender for the replies that focus on this newcomer.
