Hello!
A few nights ago I completed an absurdly long starting post to this particular roleplay and am wondering if anyone wants to join. It is an Open RP in a fantasy setting (more details on precise setting are in the opening post), with violence expected though I'm hoping to keep it mostly PG as per forum rules. I don't know about romance but I mean, if a few of you join and want to smooch each other (PG stuff) that's fine too; I just don't think the character I opened with is very romance-able. Also I don't do romance rp. In any case--
The oversimplified summary of the opening scene is this: a middle-aged hermit is living in the woods and gets bitten by a strange deer he trapped. Strange things ensue, and at the end of it all he finds a zombie hovering outside his door. How rude! He ganks it with a regular old axe and starts to travel towards a nearby, human-dominated village near the base of the geographical location called The Umbrous Steppes (hence the name). Again, more place/setting info can be found in the Background tab (collapsed) of the opening post.
So how could you fit in? Well, I left things intentionally open ended, so you could enter with more or less any sort of character, provided that they fit a fantasy setting with humans, elves, orcs, etc etc. Think dungeons and dragons/warcraft/stuff like that. Outside the two geographical regions and their briefly explained lore I have NO greater setting, so if you want to incorporate anything from a knighthood, to a company, to a kingdom or empire you can do that. Just please do not do anything unfair to the other writers; i.e., no godmoding or introducing characters that are too powerful or likely to fix everything in two seconds.
There are only really a couple of things that are set in stone, and that's the background/prelude stuff written about in the opening post. There are some weird things going on in the woods as well; that zombie wasn't the only one. Could your character be caught up dealing with a larger group of these pesky undead? Could they have other motives in mind, patrolling the borderlands? Feel free to join at any time if you have an idea of how you'd like to start.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Renaissance
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.
I'm interested!

Wonderful! What/who do you have in mind? If you're inspired you can jump in at any time you'd like, its posted already in the Fantasy RP forums.
Oh fantastic! My apologies, I hadn't even seen it!

No worries, I technically posted it a few days ago so I'm sure there's some stuff bumped over it in the forum.
I'll go check it out!
Skimming over the post I have to say that I really dig the concept!
Here's a link so people can easily access it.
I'll read it more thoroughly later today and see what kind of character I'd like to make -- I always wanted to create a Mongolian-esque fantasy character!

Hello!
You are more than welcome to try your hand with a character that comes from the setting. As a matter of fact I find the idea very exciting! Although I will say, you don't technically need to make them Mongolian-esque (I would though tbh).

Iltheyn! I'm glad to see you back, man! I've missed your writing so I'd love to join in too.
Count me in! This looks promising with such writers of such high quality
I'm glad to see you two again!
I'd be very happy to see some familiar faces in this rp. I've gotta cook up a reply soon... but I can wait a bit for some more introductions as well, just to be inclusive.

Go for it! I will weave my way in in a round or two to prevent entry fatigue.
Okie, this last reply was a doozy. I think its probably been enough time that some introductions would be properly spread out? I'm always down to discuss specifics if anyone has any questions as well.
