Thursday afternoon, another boring day had passed, and students had received their share of 21st Century knowledge.They received their homework, and were on their way out of final period, on their way to go home.Except for a few students who had to stay over for Detention.One boy sat at a desk, his arms crossed on the desk, and his chin resting on his arms,Stupid bullies, I don't even belong here in detention he thought.He and a school bully had got in a fight in the halls, and Destery had snapped and punched him in the face,Well, this sucked.

Thursday afternoon, it wasn't the most exciting days of the week, not as exciting as weekend where most kids got to go home and sleep in for two whole days and do absolutely nothing. It wasn't to far away anyways, since it is Thursday which comes before Friday and after that two day's of relaxation. During most days after school, kids went to their after school clubs and sport practices, some went to retake tests and go to their teachers for special help, others... well they go to detention, for whatever they did. During these ordinary high school day's, the girl that goes by the name Opal, the girl that never stood out, did the usual. Pack her bags and go to art club after school, Opal walked down the hallway with her white strapped bag, in the direction of the art room. As she walked she glanced over the open class rooms with students kn detention or staying for extra help, she noticed Destery and a couple of other students throwing paper airplane while the teacher wasn't looking and looked away continuing to walk.

Destery sat there boredly.He was the only student in the detention room who wasent making chaos, as in throwing paper airplanes, and a lot of other things.Destery closed his eyes and sighed, this was giving him a headache, but his eyes opened feeling an eraser that was chucked at him hit him in the head.He glarred at the person who threw the eraser, then looked away.He felt his stomach growl, but ignored its protests.He looked towards the door, seeing a girl walk by.

A girl with white shorts and t-shirt, white long boots with her chair leaning back and her feet on her desk, chuckled when the eraser was thrown at Destery. The girl smiled at him deviously "wants some more Dusty?" The girl asked pulling out a straw, putting it to her mouth and spitting spit balls at him. The girl laughed at, like it was actually funny what she just did. One of the students looked back at girl spitting spit ball's and pointed towards the door, "hey look Jackie, it's Opal!" Said the student pointing to the girl outside, Jackie smirked and called out "hey Opal!" Jackie called out from within the detention room, the girl didn't respond but she did picked up her speed zooming off.

Destery looked away from the doorway, feeling spit balls hit him.He glarred at the girl again."Stop it!" He demanded.He felt one hit him in the face, he got it off, along with the spit, and looked away, resting his chin on the desk.He hoped detention would go by quickly.He heard people talk about the girl in the halls, so her name was Opal huh.Seemed they both had strange names.

"Stop it, stop it!" Jackie imitated in a high pitched voice, mocking him. Jackie pulled out her straw again at the back of his head and shot one last spit ball before finally knocking it off. "What are you gonna do do super saiyan on my ass?!" Jackie laughed out loud, student's that sat by Jackie laughed as well. "Holy crap he's over 9000!" Someone yelled, making everyone laugh even louder.

His fist balled up, and he tried to keep calm.Bullying wasent new to him.He was used to it.Sorta.But when she made that one comment he looked back at her, annoyed."If you don't leave me alone, your damn right I'm going to kick your ass!" He remarked.Realizing what he just said, he looked away, and down at his desk.He listened to the mocking voices of the students.

Jackie raised a e eyebrow "you giving me lip, Dusky?" Jackie asked, slowly getting out of her seat, "b**** I will beat the living shit out of you!" Jackie yelled, she walked over to Destery's desk with two student's following behind her. Jackie was the bully of the school and the lowest of low. She always has her dogs to back her up where ever she goes. Lunch, class, the hallway, even the bathroom! Jackie walked ip to Destery's desk but before she could make a move, the teacher suddenly walked into the room. "What are you doing up get back to your seats!" The first thing the teacher saw was Jackie and her groupies, Jackie squinted her eyes at the teacher and at Destery and walked back to her seat and so did her groupies. "When's quitting time teach?" Jackie asked leaning in her chair again, "Seven more minutes and after detention is over I better not see any of you kids back here again, you all should know and act better!" The teacher scolded and walked over to her front desk to do work

Destery ignored the girls.Just more stuck up bitches, nothing new.Nothing changes.He looked at her with unamused green eyes.His pale fists still balled up.And he was trying his best to keep his lips sealed.Though slowly his eyes made there way to the teacher when she entered the room.Well, 'that was overly convinient.He looked away, and went back to looking at his desk.

After minutes and minutes of doing nothing, since all you could do is do homework or read, obviously no was really gonna do homework in detention anyways. The teacher finally dismissed the student's from detention,"time to bounce!" Jackie announced, hoping out her seat, Jackie and the gang were the first people to leave.

Once detention was dismissed, Destery got up, and picked up his bookbag, and put a hand in his jacket pocket, and left the room, walking out into the halls.Time to get out if here.

Down the hallway Jackie and her dogs were blocking up the hallway, like they usually do during school. As they walked the girl from before called by the name Opal waked by, trying to keep her distance from the group of bullies. "Hey Opal!" One the girls rushed and bumped her into, causing her to fall on the floor and drop her things. Opal looked up at the girl who bumped her, "who are you looking at like that?" The girl asked and turned her bead and continued to walk. Jackie and the girls laughed at Opal, continuing to walk, they were cruel people, but surprisingly they were only cruel to the weak ones. Sadly Opal was one of them, their little punching bag, Opal sat on the floor grabbing her things off the floor.

Destery looked up, and stopped.He watched as the stuck up popular girls bullied a girl.The popular girls after they were done seemed to start coming in the direction he was coming from, so they'd see him.He sighed quietly.He wanted to make them pay. But he didn't.Stay calm he thought.He kept walking.Towards Opals direction.

Jackie and the gang continued to walk their way down the hallway, luckily this time, they decided not to bother messing with Destery and bullying him like they did in the detention room. I stead they continued to walk, to where ever they were going, probably their hang out. Leaving behind poor Opal who was still on the floor, gathering scattered school suppliers. Paper, pencils, erasers, oh what a mess on fhe floor.

Destery passed them by, and went over to Opal.Just to be nice, he knelt down, and started helping her pick up her supplies.

Opal looked up somewhat hesitant to see someone actually nice enough to get down and help her pick up her things. This was something new to Opal, she stared at her supplies still trying to pick up all her things, only a little shyly. "Um... thank you..." Opal said.

"No problem.." he said gathering papers off the floor.

Opal gathered her things and put her supplies and her bag and the other school supplies that was collected by Destery. "Thank you" Opal thanked Destery again, standing up and wiping off her cloths. "There just a little cruel sometimes and it's like a everyday thing." Opal shook her head, cruel was a understatement "most kids just walk by and pretend nothing happened when somebody gets knocked down by Jackie's gang..." Opal said.

Destery kept reaching it his pale hand and picked up Opals stuff.He handed her her stuff, and shrugged, "she chucked an eraser at my head and blew spitballs at me in detention." He smiles a little, "she doesn't scare me.." he said.
