Destery sat against the tree and worked on his homework.

The Next Day Later...

It was Friday and thank God kt was Friday, this ment no more school for at least two whole days, kt wasn't much, but some kids needed the rest anyways. During school it was time for lunch, Opal had already grabbed her bag and her lunchbox and beaded off to eat lunch with her friends.

Finally, the end of the week.Hopefully there wouldn't be any homework, and hopefully Destery wouldn't get detention, for the second time this week.The day seemed to pass by quiet quickly, and soon enough lunch rolled around, and the young man made his way down the halls.He had his book bag on his back, and his lunch in his hands, since he didn't like the school lunch, and not that it ceased his hunger anyway.He say alone, away from everybody.Not that anyone would sit with the 'abnormal' kid,

Once Opal grabbed her lunch and all the things she needed fir lunch, Opal started to make her way down the hallway and outside to the track field. Since Opal and her friends always thought the lunch room was too noisy and crowded. Opal took the usual route outside the back of the school, towards the track field, underneath the trees, where her friend's usually sat. Once Opal hot outside and scanned the area, she noticed that her friend's weren't there, making her the first to arrive.

Destery never liked to east in the cafeteria either, and he didn't feel like getting some bodies food thrown at him.He usually ate lunch on the porch of the school, in the shade, and away from the sunlight, and away from mean people.He just quietly ate his lunch.

Opal looked down thoughtfully "I guess there still getting their lunches" Opal said to herself, it was probably the case because they wouldn't eat any where else without telling Opal. Opal decided to turn back around and go somewhere else,I'll just wait on the porch and wait for them to come outside... Opal thought to herself. Opal walked over to the back porch of the school building, she noticed when she got there it was already occupied by someone else,"excuse me, but do you mind if I sit here?" Opal asked the student before taking a seat, the kid looked very familiar to Opal in a way.

Destery didn't notice the girl approaching him, until she spoke to him.He blinked.Recalling the voice.It was the girl from yesterday.He looked up at her, and slightly shook his head.He didn't mind.

"Thank you" Opal said taking a seat next to him, Opal turned her head towards the kid and tilted her head, "sorry to ask but have I seen you before?" Opal asked, she did see him before, but she just couldn't remember or recall.

Destery nodded as he took a bite of cupcake, that to the human eyes would appear to be filled with jelly or something, but it wasrnt really jelly."You saw me yesterday, I helped you pick up your stuff." He said simply once he had swallowed.

Opal stared down at her lunchbox opening it and trying to remember. He helped me pick up my things, from yesterday? Opal thought, Opal tried her best to remember until it finally remembered. "Oh that's right you're name is Destery, correct?" Opal asked, at least she hasn't completely forgotten.

He nodded.He was Destery."And your Opal, correct?" He asked, his British accent obvious in his voice.

Opal nodded her head, "correct" she said, Opal could notice the British accent in his voice, but she didn't want to start asking obvious questions such as, 'are you English?' It would be kind if dumb to answer questions you could answer yourself, so Opal decided to ask something else. "Why are you sitting by yourself?" Opal asked

Destery nodded, atleast he got it right.He remembered correctly.He took another bite of his cupcake, looking out into the distance."Let's just say I'm not very popular" he said.

Opal tilted her head to the side, she wasn't too popular either, but that didn't mean she didn't have anybody or any friends to sit with. Opal felt kind of bad that Destery didn't have any friend's, fir what ever reason." Do you mind if I sit with you, if you want... "Opal offered.

Destery seemed to handle being alone quite well, like it wasent that knew to him.He had many reasons he didn't have friends.His odd appearance being one.A boy with dark brown hair, with a hint of black, and dark green eyes, who seemed to avoid sunshine always, and was as pale as a ghost almost."I don't mind" he said.

"Okay" Opal said, opening her lunchbox and taking out a apple to eat. Opal sat there next to Destery taking her first bite of her apple. Opal looked at Destery and then back at her apple shyly,should I start a conversation? Opal thought, she wasn't very social like Destery either, usually her friend Chole did all the talking.

Destery was a little on the quiet side now.He didn't really have much to say to start a conversation, he took the last bite of his cupcake, still quiet.

"How was your day?" Opal asked trying to be a little bit like Chole, always talkative. Maybe that was a little too random... Opal thought but there anything else to say.. Opal took another bite of her apple.

"Same as any other day I suppose" he said."And how was yours?" He asked.

"Good..." Opal answered, "um..." Opal stared down, at the apple in her hand out of boredom. "I'm going to go throw this away" Opal said standing up and walking over to the garbage can.
