Ever have one of those times in gaming where you look at something, whether it be a cutscene, scenery, or story in general, and just go... woah?

It's hard to explain, but it's moments like that that fuel nostalgia for me.

My top two "mindblowers" are as followed:

1. The Opening Sequence of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
My copy of Oblivion actually originally belonged to my parents. When they finally let me play it, after many years of rotting in a drawer, I booted it up. Gazing upon the Imperial City and White-Gold Tower for the first time while that triumphant music was playing and the title saying "Oblivion" just left me like... woah.

2. The Secret Ending of Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix.

Though it's a close call, Oblivion gets the top slot. Though don't think this isn't just as great. I mean, seeing this for the first time, you didn't know what the blazes was going on, just that three armored knights wielding keyblades were fighting an old man in Ansem's clothing and a Riku-Ansem knockoff. The music and everything was epic, and you seriously thought this was Kingdom Hearts III. Though Birth by Sleep still was just as satisfying. It's a cutscène like this that just makes me go WOAH.

Sorry for ranting, but I just had to talk about it. XD

I've had games where I was overall just blown away and impressed by the quality of the games. I love good storylines and I love when games reference each other.

The whole Bioshock series blew me away every time. I love them immensely. Each game caters to a unique atmosphere. They're visually truly impressive. Bioshock 1 and 2 play underwater and I felt like I was actually underwater the whole time, even in areas where there were no windows that showed the ocean. Bioshock Infinite was deceptively bright and colorful, but switched to dark and broody with ease to follow the story perfectly. Like all games, they have their flaws and aren't perfect, but they're stunning and rather unique in their own ways!

Mirror's edge, when it first came out, made me hold my breath more than once. The visuals in the game are nice, but the gameplay was like nothing I'd ever seen before. You have to work with your environment and you have to work with it fast, or you die. The combination of almost surreal white, bright city buildings and the fast pace of the game blew me away when I first played, and still sometimes does.
I'm super out of the loop on media in general... but!

When I finally saw Portal 2 (watched, didn't play; and haven't yet seen the first), I got quite the kick out of how the whole thing was set up.

And then there's Boson X. A forward-facing platformer full of turning and flashing and shifting patterns and the blasted sudden speed-ups and after beating the final level I could no longer handle the first because the speed was so different and...

That's what I can think of offhand. Mm, but I could also mention ChronoCross, since it was the first RPG I ever played and I'd never experienced something like that. Though, it certainly made me angry with the disk got scratched and the whole game ran fine except the the big twisty unskippable movie in the middle of the game that I hadn't made it past yet but my brother had and I never got to play past that point and blarg... Every time I tried to get past it, it'd freeze dramatically just as the blood started to drip from the knife. I swear it was taunting me.

The first FPS Game I played defiantly left an impression, Medal of Honor Eurapon assault. The theme is one of the most beautiful, Saddening yet some how gives you hope. I love it to death and I think it fits such a heavy element such as world war II Perfectly. Have a listen if you want Click this Now unlike COD, This game was following events that really happened to this guy called Holt. And Im one of those guys who get emotionally attached to a brick wall, So I often take bullets for my own team just so they live through the missions. By the people felt real, And I could feel I was in a war without giant nuclear explosions.

I could not pick between these two, But the warthog run from Halo CE and 3 were so Intense wild and fun. Watching Covenant, Sentinels and FLOOD Fighting eachother AND trying to kill me with a time limit was very intense and I do love the music ^^ Both revolutionized the way FPS's were made and I love them both to death <3 (Also Halo CE is the only game where that I know of where you can fight Aliens, Zombies or the FLOOD rather and robots! And they all fight eachother as well ^^)

Skyrim's theme was very unqie to me, I could never guess what notes were about to come next (And Im great at doing that) And It got me in the action for saving the world!....and robbing the world at the same time!...maybe fate should have picked a better dragonborn ^^" But It was fun doing the story (Oddly enough Gurduer attacked me for killing a robber who was stealing from a merchant...Really?) But oh well love these games and I always will ^^
I have to say that the Bioshock games were totally that for me too. With the first two, I was in another world. It was perfect story to gameplay, and so unique. Unexpected twists, slight horror element and just totally wonderful. One of those things that I wish I could forget just so I could relive the whole game again!

And then Fatal Frame games. Any of them. The twisted stories behind the ghosts and curses. And only being armed with a camera makes you feel totally defenseless. Playing with the lights out alone drags you in. I've never had so much trouble playing a game and putting it down at once. I couldn't decide if I wanted more or was just too afraid to continue. But then again, I am also a pansy.
For me it would have to be Mass Effect 2. I hadn't played roleplaying games before so it was a pleasent surprise. In particular the final level of Mass Effect 2 was really good. This whole level was mindblowing but to me, the best part about it was the intro cinematics that really blew my mind.

I have still yet to play Bioshock, Skyrim and some of the other big games.
