So, I was recently playing around some mods on Skyrim and one of the mods had given my character a fairy companion; think of something akin to Tinker Bell and similar storybook fairies. I thought it might be fun to roleplay this; I'd love to give my Dragonborn a fairy companion of sorts, potentially playing a bit of a wholesome slice of life/adventure story, with the possibility of romance (MxF) playing into it. There's plenty of options for them to meet and if the below ideas aren't catching your fancy, feel free to bring your own.
1. Rescued Fairy
So, this one is a simple plot following Ja'vassa discovering the little fairy in a less than ideal situation. Perhaps stuck in a spider web, being hunted by a hungry animal, or trapped by a crazed wizard who intended to experiment on them, or maybe something else. After being rescued, the fairy decided to stick around, joining the Dragonborn on his various adventures.
2. Stowaway
The Dragonborn is known for his frequent sailings across the Sea of Ghosts and it's not too uncommon for rats or other small animals to be found onboard halfway during his trip, though coming across an unexpected fairy cowering in one of the lower decks. Concerned, somewhat confused, and after some convincing, he brought it back to his cabin where it'd be a little bit warmer, slowly befriending each other as Ja'vassa sails back to Skyrim.
3. Unplanned Guest
Sjel Blad Castle is a massive, sprawling fortress with many nooks and crannies for small critters to hide in; he frequently finds all kinds of animals hiding in cracks and holes along the walls and floors, so when he came across the fairy making itself at home in his quarters, he wasn't all that surprised. After befriending the fairy, they became nearly inseparable, with the fairy regularly accompanying him on his adventures.

Renaissance
Distant war may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat will likely be summarized, not played out in detail.
Romance is desired but not required, and will balance evenly with other plot.
