"Oh please, like that'll do much," Johann scoffed with another eye roll for the day. "Grig, Metal Sound."
The living ring jingled its keys unhappily and widened its peculiar key-hole shaped mouth, emitting a horrible sound of metal being repeatedly scratched against metal to lower the starfish's defenses.

"Take it down with a psychic attack!" Nessa's cheeks flushed pink, clearly excited with the battle no matter how many disapproving glares she shot at the biker.
Twist's jewel began to glow brightly before a psychic wave aimed straight at Grig.

But it didn't really look to hurt, that time, other than making Grig an unhappy fairy.
"Aw c'mon...you were so confident about beating us earlier," Johann remarked in a tone of mild boredom and annoyance. He sighed out like this was all a big disappointment, "Grig, Draining Kiss." The Klefki zipped through the air towards Twist to give it a life-draining kiss on one of its eight points.
How does a fairy kiss with no lips? It's probably best not to ask how the fair folk function.

"A rocky start does not determine the outcome. Don't be so quick to judge!"
She gave the Starmie a worried glance. "Twist, are you okay? Can you keep going?" It had weakened considerably after the startling smooch and had trouble staying upright, but everything about the big starfish spoke of a determination to battle to the bitter end. It made a reassuring sound and its jewel glowed brightly for a few seconds.
"Alright then. Let's cool down that attitude, shall we? Use blizzard!"

Grig had already begun zipping away as soon as it was done smoochin' Twist, but the urgent command from the gruff man spurs it to nip off to the side. That wasn't enough to avoid the icy blast entirely, and the Klefki got enough of the mini storm to finally get a decent, solid hit.
Johann didn't fare much better; some of the blizzard came rolling in his way, and the biker tightly wraps himself up in his overcoat and pops the collar up. "D-d-damn it, that's harsh. A-another draining kiss!"
The key ring stuttered out a jingle in reply and zipped about, though a little jittery from the cold, to try to get in another kiss on Twist.

Grig missed, largely. Only a brief moment of contact drew more of Twist's health, but not enough to knock it out just yet.
"Now's your chance. Another psychic attack!"

"Fairy wind."
The klefki dug deep into its very being and focused its powers on something. A breeze of some indescribable nature, something more than just changed air pressure, began to stir up behind it; it blew harshly towards the Starmie to blow it over and capitalize on its lowered special defenses.

Power 30, Accuracy 100%; somehow I have to describe 'The user stirs up a fairy wind and strikes the target with it.' :U
It felt more like a gentle breeze than anything else.
"That's it? Come on Johann, you can do better," she challenged the biker, smirking. Twist shook off the breeze easily, but it was getting drained fast. One solid hit and it would be knocked out cold. Nessa considered calling it back, but knew it would be unhappy with that decision. She was very in tune with her pokemon and let them make calls as equals. Twist was preparing to attack again.
"Try another blizzard Twist. I believe in you!"

"Damn it, watch where you aim that! Ugh, Grig! Astonish!"
Uh-oh, a ghost type move, though a weaker one at that. The biker was probably banking on a type advantage along with a solid hit. The klefki zipped around Twist in an attempt to pop out from behind it to spook the starfish.

Her smile faded at the next attack. "Twist, watch out!" The blow wasn't a full on hit, but it was too much for the exhausted Starmie. With a cry it crashed into the ground and lay still, its jewel blinking steadily in defeat.
Nessa rushed over to it. "Oh poor Twist." She held it for a moment and then took its pokeball out. "That's enough. Thank you so much sweetheart." The Starmie disappeared into the ball and Nessa huffed.
"That was pure luck. You won't be so lucky this next round." The woman took a new pokeball and tossed it. "Lara, it's your turn to shine!"
The Lapras appeared and settled down after announcing her presence with a gentle cry. One might wonder why in the world Nessa chose a Lapras for a land battle. "Use Surf." Nessa sounded calm... and devious.
Lara began to glow blue as she called forth the wave of water, aimed directly for Grig.

"Kriiiiiiiing!"
Johann looked back across the route towards Nessa, smirking at her. "Oh yeah? Well let's see what you've got... oh no." He hadn't been paying attention to her until after she had issued the Surf command. There was no good way Grig could dodge a large wall of water.
And neither could he! The summoned wave bowled the pair over, soaking them both through and through! Johann was splayed out on his back by the time the waters receded, coughing to clear his lungs and get his sense of self back. Poor Grig had tried to cling to his collar to stay afloat, but alas it had taken a pretty good hit and was laying limp, arms apart and keys scattered everywhere.
"Hrkgh! Ugh! What...hrk! Grig!?"
"Keeeeeey..." That didn't sound good. Johann rolled onto his hands and knees, coughing a little more as he shot Nessa a very dirty glare--one more easily seen due to the wave pulling his shades away from a pair of very light grey eyes.
It was a hearty, good nature belly laugh that made her clutch her gut and gasp for breath. "That-" *gasp* "-was so-" *gasp* "-graceful!!" Lara cooed and tilted her head, just a little embarrassed she unintentionally caused such a disturbance for the other trainer!
"Are you alright?" Nessa wiped the tears from her cheeks and couldn't for the life of her stop grinning like an idiot, even when that unsettling glare fell on her!
Her grin in return for his glare only made him all the angrier, even if the emotion was displayed in nothing more than a slightly more intent look. Johann shrugged off the coat, now heavy with water, allowing it to drop behind him into the path's dirt. Then he reached to his belt again, grabbed a hold on a Timer Ball, and in one swift motion pulled it and his sweater up and off his body. There was an undershirt beneath, wet and clinging to the biker's muscular frame, but it would help wonders in letting him dry off after having already taken a Blizzard directly.
Grig may have been out of the picture, but clearly the wet biker wasn't.
"Johann, I'm sorry. We didn't mean to get you both... caught.... up...." Her words trailed off as less and less clothing covered Johann's very well defined frame. She stammered a little and blushed. Well. This was a sight she wouldn't forget easily! She straightened her back and frowned. "Please don't be angry."
Trainer and pokemon both waited for the revelation of Johann's second choice for battle, but Nessa grew nervous beneath the mixture of handsome attractiveness and the obvious anger her unintentional mishap provoked.
"You're definitely going to pay for that one," Johann drawled dangerously. He gave the ball in his hand a flick out onto the route. It popped right open, unleashing whatever it was the thug kept inside.
And that 'whatever it was' happened to be heavy. Quite the opposite of little Grig, a Golurk landed squarely on the ground, shaking the area beneath its feet. It was already very tall and rotund in its crouched position; upon straightening up, the possessed golem revealed it was massive, towering over Lara by almost an entire meter.
"I suppose I deserve payback. Challenge accepted!"
Giving Johann the right of way to send his pokemon into battle first, she studied it briefly. It kind of looked like a rock type pokemon? In a weird sort of way. "Be careful Lara," she cautioned Lapras. "He looks tough."
The imposing Golurk unleashed a slow, reverberating cry from deep within its body. It stepped forward with lumbering movements, shaking the ground with every step as it 'raced' towards Lara to slam into her (relative use of 'raced' by the by: it ran, but it obviously was a bit on the slow side). Its heavy bulk made the steel-type move a formidable one, even if Mechanus wasn't a steel type itself.

"Lara, w-" *WHAMTHUD*
Trainer and pokemon were stunned. Rather than successfully knocking Lapras out, Golurk tripped and fell face-first to the ground.
Never had Nessa been exposed to such a difficult task as not bursting out laughing in front of Johann. Again. Because she was afraid he might do terrible things to her if she did so. She bit down on her lip hard and squeaked out a "Lara, use Surf" before half choking on swallowed air.

Johann scooted out of the way this time, only getting dampened. Better than getting soaked. "Mechanus..." The thug sighed deeply. "Substitute."
The Golurk didn't retreat, but instead began to make a near-mirror copy of itself from its own life force, blocking the way between Mechanus and Lara.
[No roll for obvious reasons--probably at or near half health though.]
