I can feel the earth shake beneath me, the small animals run in fear for their lives at my approach. I can remember when I too was small, small enough to be in danger from them. But that was many centuries ago, and I wasn't the same being that I am now. When you have watched the ones you love grow old and die while you remain young, it is impossible to avoid change.
In a forest of tall slender trees, dimly-lit in the leafy mid-afternoon glow, walks a dragon. Her proportions were thin, wiry, and lithe, built for flight. She is truly massive, a human wouldn't come up to the top of her paws. Her head is held low before her body to avoid brushing the canopy. Small birds of many different colors flutter around and perch on her head-spikes. Her footfalls rumble through the forest, dampened by the leaf-littered forest floor. Keeping up a steady pace, her tail swings above the ground in time with her paws. Her luminous emerald eyes move over her surroundings passively, searching for what, no one can know.

Daganth felt himself drawn to a forest. He couldn't explain it, but it felt, so..familiar. Had he been here before, sometime in his past? Or was he just walking in circles?
The joys of amnesia when over a millenia old...
The dragon felt his color change again, along with an increase in his weight, adopting a brown and tan scheme. He stopped his trek, putting most of his weight on three limbs to balance himself for when he took up one paw/hand, drawing a line in the ground with his claw. He wanted to know what was beneath, but he also wanted to preserve the ground...
Snapping out of it, Daganth continued walking, and the quadroped continued to try to understand the reason for his dejavu.

She is lost in her reverie for hours on end, something that tends to happen quite a lot with one who has lived so long alone. Her thoughts drift back to times and faces long gone by, to days of laughter and friends. They may be gone from this world, but they will live on forever in her mind, staying with her wherever she goes.
A sound causes her to stop in her tracks, snapping abruptly out of her nostalgia…the sound of pawsteps similar to hers, large and heavy, but careful. Turning to glance behind her, she listens attentively as the footsteps near. Another dragon, perhaps? It has been many years since she last met with one of her own kind, it might be refreshing. Or whoever it was could be looking for a fight…in that case, they'd have made a grave mistake. Turning fully around, she stands with her body coiled like a tense spring and waits.

Daganth felt something in the ground...what was it? He could feel it shake slightly, but to the side of his paws. The ground didnt do that all the time, right? This oscillation in the ground..it seemed to be coming from his side... He looked to find nothing there.
Then it stopped.
Curious, the dragon's scales change again to a red and blue, and Daganth cautiously walked forward, finding that he had to go very low to the ground, squeezing those flat fin structures on his back to his scaly sides to avoid disturbing the green roof over the ground.
The animals weren't out for some reason, but they had fresh tracts. The thought about them running away from something else crossed his mind, but Daganth dismissed it. For a time, anyway.
Eventually, he saw another, another dragon?
Did he look like that?
Daganth had thought dragons were all like him, since he hadnt seen one since his memories were lost.

{lol ok ^-^}
Her eyes widen as a familiar-seeming shape looms into view from within the shadows of the forest. A dragon, one of her own kind. How could this be coincidence? Her kind have become increasingly scarce, the odds of running into another like this were…nevermind that. She needed to focus on the possible threat at hand.
Still standing frozen, she flicks the end of her tail in a catlike manner and brings her head forward to look the approaching male in the eyes. He is different. She can remember others, her family and friends, and they weren't like this one. His expression is hard to read. After a moment, she decides to speak first, reaching with her mind to speak to his.
"What are you called, stranger? I have not met one of my own kind in a very long time." Her mental voice is soft, but weathered and strong. She stays at the fringes of the male's mind out of respect, withdrawing immediately as she ceases to speak.

Daganth didn't respond at first, thinking he was just imagining what it would be like to meet something of his size again. His faint, but glowing, yellow eyes blinked, and realized that he was actually seeing another dragon.
Daganth also realized she had asked for his name, and felt himself become rigid. Was Daganth his real name? "My name's Daganth, but nobody has called me that before." The only reason why he knew that was his name was because it was one of the few things written in the cave he woke up in all those years ago. The rest of what he wrote was burned up or had been worn away too much to be legible.
"Do...do you have a name?"
Daganth had always hoped that the first dragon he saw was someone that had known him in his latter life, but it seemed that coincidences like that were too storybook or fairy tale to actually happen.

The corners of her mouth twitched into a slight smile, the featherlike scales around her head twitching expressively. The end of her tail swayed gracefully, close to the ground, like a cat's.
"I have more than one, but I introduce myself as Azoulas Oakentail, Daughter of Zenith. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Daganth." She dipped her head courteously and continued to speak into his mind, her expressions changing but her mouth not moving. Her crystalline emerald eyes blinked intelligently, her head tilted quizzically as she asks, "I am quite intrigued…what brings you to this tranquil place? Prey? Solitude? Or something else entirely, perhaps."

"You're speaking in my head! Can you hear all my thoughts, too?" Daganth replied, amazed at how this dragon did that. When this Azoulas's head dipped, the male decided to do likewise. It just seemed like it was...normal? Natural? Socially inclined? He couldn't find the word for it.
Daganth lifted his head, and thought, "I'm here because it seems familiar. I think it may be a place that could trigger my lost memories or something."

"I am only touching the very surface of your mind, out of respect for the privacy of your inner thoughts and intentions. But if I wanted to, yes, I could delve into the deepest part of your being. Of course, a trained mind would be able to shield their thoughts. Most dragons have this ability naturally, though it can take some effort to learn the proper techniques." She raised her head at the last statement, nostalgia filming over her expressive eyes. "In all my life, I have never forgotten any face I have seen, nor any place I have been. If I lost those memories…well…do you have any idea how you lost yours?"
Daganth had always hoped that the first dragon he saw was someone that had known him in his latter life, but it seemed that coincidences like that were too storybook or fairy tale to actually happen.
"No, no I don't. But I think it wasn't just me being erased of my memory."
He walked up to the one called Azoulas, and opened up the journal around his neck. It was completely empty, even though it was probably older than both of them. The only entry was halfway through it, and all it said was, "You are Daganth, and you are of me." He felt a little awkward all of a sudden, and the dragon shifted on his paws some. He felt like he was taking up this other busy dragon's day up.

Her tail twitched pensively as she stood, passively taking in the stranger's appearance. He was close to her height, and looked to be nearly the same age, and his scales were of a color that reminded her of someone else she'd known a very long time ago…She kept her expression neutral as he nears, but inside she was fascinated with and intrigued by this stranger. Any sort of interaction with one of her own kind was welcome, she had been alone for so long. As he stops before her, her eyes fall upon the object around his neck. "What is that you wear?"
"Er, um, I don't know. It's a book. But it's all blank." Daganth looked down at the little human journal. "I think it was my journal. I don't know why I didn't write anything in it."
He wondered what what Azoulas was thinking right now. Daganth didn't think he had ever seen her before, but he was having some problems with that sort of thing. He noticed how quizzically she seemed to be about the book, so the male dragon used his wingtips to take it off his neck, and held it out in front of her.
And this kids is a perfect example why you should write every idea you have down. Don't be a Daganth.

{Wow ok then }
"This is certainly very curious." Tilting her head and sitting back on her haunches, she reached a claw and deftly took the journal. She gently placed it in the palm of her other paw, but refrained from opening it.
"Do you mind if I…I mean, I know it's empty, but I would like to look if you don't mind."

"It's fine, go for it." And in the pages within, there were some words spaced throughout:
Wow.
Such memory.
Much blank.
Wow.
So amnesia.
Much salty
So Raven

{Use that brain of yours. I know you've got one.}
{Ok. Sorry. I don't know what you want her to do. Find hidden writing? Sorry. I'm tired.}
{Ok. Blank. I can work with that.}
She searched with her mind for any trace of magic on the book and, finding nothing, held it out for Daganth to take. "Most curious. And you believe this journal to have a significant connection to your past life?" Narrowing her eyes, she tries to remember if something of this sort has happened before, as in a dragon mysteriously losing his memory, and can think of nothing.
