THE DARKEST MASQUERADE

Something magical must have happened, some say it was a blessing, some say it came out of a horror movie, but random invitations to a Masquerade Party dubbed the "The Darkest Masquerade" began appearing in people's mailboxes, pockets, fax machines (do people still have those?), beneath their pillows and even shot out at them from opening the fridge.





"Thank you all for coming to the Darkest Masquerade. I am your mysterious host that you may just call me P." The host announced from the top of the stairs, looking down at the ballroom below. "If you are faint-of-heart and cannot handle the fright of what tonight shall bring, such as lights flickering, those with masks who are not of this realm, small beasts that roam the estate freely and sometimes even phrases that make no sense, please exit the estate and never come back. But if you think you are brave enough, please, stay."

He held up his arms, a smile on his face. "I shall now announce the Darkest Masquerade to begin!"

The lightning outside struck suddenly as he announced it, then thunder soon following, echoing throughout the ballroom, and outside.

He suddenly appeared here in a flash awakening from a dream... And into an apparent nightmare.
"Huh- where am I now?!" He asked, slightly shivering cartoonishly in fear

P noticed the cat child appearing out of no where and softly laughed. "You are at the Darkest Masquerade, feline child."
"Please, enjoy your stay and what the Masquerade shall offer soon in the future." P grinned widely, pulling a bit of his long hair back across his shoulder to get it out of the way.

A nearby wall began to distort and twist violently as red, orange and black energy crackled up and down it. A tear in the very fabric of reality opened up to reveal a sea of pure multi-coloured energy beyond the tear. From the tear Nergal confidently stroad out from the tear with a big grin on his face.

He was wearing a fine red and black robe with a long black cape. His mask was golden and black. On the black part of the mask was an endless and ever changing sea of planets, stars and galaxies. Planets would be created and then snuffed out, gigantic gas clouds would form into stars before they would go supernova and become a black hole. Those blackholes grew to super massive blackholes which would become surrounded by billions of stars, creating galaxies. It was like a timelapse of the entirety of the universe. Beneath the mask was a pair of piercing orange feline eyes. “Interesting…” He said to himself while the tear behind him closed.

"What is up with all these masquerades... Well, whatever! I bet this one will be fun too!"

Sleeping, of course, moreso vibing out

Glitter gun in hand mind you-

He slowly tiptoes up to company and tries to snatch the gun with no one seeing, looking around him suspiciously and his tiptoeing overly goofy.

Nergal walked over to Aggles without making a single sound. He then smiled down at him with as his cat ears twitched. "Well, hello there, fellow feline~" He spoke quietly to not wake Company, but loud enough for Aggles to hear.

she proceeds to light them up with glitter "Im awake-"

*He appeared in his natural form. Granted much smaller and without the wings. As he manifested the walls around him began to distort and shift. Every light was extinguished. Not even sunlight could bear through. Inside his skeletal eyes, a green fire burned with fury. But then the darkness dissipated. A mask was on his face. But not a normal one. One that shifted to his skeletal jackal face. He did not speak but simply observed.*

P couldn't help but smile and laugh at the whole glitter fiasco. Now that they were a few more people attending the masquerade, he decided it was time to spice things up.

He grabbed a staff that had a bunch of crystals on it and then tapped it loudly on a nearby bell to get the attendees attention. And when (and if) they looked to P, he would point at one of the doors that were on the far right side of the ballroom, that was now creaking open, and soon a handful of small beasts that had some resemblance to puppy dogs, ran out into the ballroom. Blinking their many eyes at everyone and their long tongues hanging out of their mouth.

Each one had a collar on, each with small boxes tied to it. "One of these little beasts has a special surprise within the collar boxes, the others have a not so special surprise within them. If you can catch them, you can see what's inside the box." He winked, "The question is, what is inside these boxes?" He winked behind his mask. He pulled out a whistle, blew it, and the beasts began running around the ballroom.

"There are 6 beasts, for reference." He added, to make sure people didn't get confused on how many beasts there were.

Still shaking off the glitter, he hadnt the time to reply or listen to anything until he heard "special surprise", after which he grabs his staff and prepares a gravity spell to drag them all over to him!

Any glitter that came too close to his body instantly disintegrated. Nergal's eyes snapped onto Nilaneros and his eyes color turned a bright red in reaction. His grin grew wider in excitement at the many possibilities that had been presented to him.

The beasts squirmed around in the spell that Aggles had put them under, letting out little growls and snarls.

P found this tactic an interesting one, he sat on the railing of the stairs and watched.

He pulls all the boxes towards him and begins opening them one by one, a grin on his face from his successful outsmarting.

Much to Aggles' surprise, one box contained a bunch of tiny spiders, another one contained a little ball of slime, the next one contained a garden snake, and the fourth one contained a frog that spit cider at him.

The last one had a gold coin in there that had a language that was unknown to anyone here, except maybe P, engraved within it. A valuable treasure, most likely.

*He simply looked at one of the beasts as it ran away. He then chanted something.* "Nftyrs Hyetyr". And then he was in front of it. He grabbed the beast's collar. And placed one hand on its head. Then he took the collar off swiftly and teleported back to his location. Something marks him as powerful. People who stand near him for too long feel a sense of eternal dread. His voice is deep, guttural, and almost sounds like water.* "Bthry fghtan." *He then looks at the host and says.* "Apologies most mortals cannot understand when I speak the Elder Tounge."
