Luna shifted every once in a while, snuggling close to Abar in the cold night. Even if he did bark again, she wouldn't have woken up because of her habit of deep sleeping. Nothing could wake her up, not even a thunderstorm could wake her. She slept peacefully against Abar, his warm body keeping her warm as well.
Corn God heard a noise, he cloaked himself in an illusion once more. The chief entered the hut, he bowed, "What do you need my child," Corn God saved his act, Borron's dagger was still in the illusion masters robes. The chief saw the dagger and called to his dog, then again, "No mere mutt can save you or your village from the Shadorians!" The dagger pierced deep into the chiefs body! Blood covered the hut, and Corn God screamed out for help.
"Help it's the chief! The assassin killed him! We must attack! We must avenge the chief!" Shouts for war were heard all across the village. The six tribes would be in fierce battle soon, and in time Black Rock would be stained with blood.

Hearing large amounts of shouting Abar panicked, he got up and lifted the girl onto his back he ran back to the village and saw that everyone was in a frenzy. Frightened and confused he ran to his master's hut only to find that something horrible had happened. Abar ran too his master and the girl slid of off his back, he was in distress hoping that it wasn't what it appeared to be. He nudged his master's lifeless body with his nose, he licked his hand and it was cold... filled with sadness he let out a deep howl of pain, he then curled up next to his master's corpse thinking of why someone would do this. Abar caught a scent, a scent of hatred and bad intentions. A smell that Abar would remember until the day he died.
Luna bumped along on Abar's back, still not waking until they got to the tent and she accidentally slid off non too gently. Using her palms to rub the sleep out of her eyes, Luna looked around and tried to figure out what the commotion was all about. A sticky substance was on her arm where she fell, but it was hard to make out in the darkness of the tent.
Corn God looked at the large dog and knew strong minded people have the weakest common sense, but an animal like this, especially one so close to his master, would be able to see threw his illusion, Corn God backed away threw the rambling crowd. Hoping the mutt would linger close to his friends corps. "Prepare the warriors to attack the east!" Borron's village was just a few miles north of the Shadorian mists, they had to be taken out first.
The time for grief was over, For this was not Abar's first master he had lost. In truth Abar had the vitality of a young dog but in reality Abar was around the age of 15, The mastiff is a special dog known to most as a loving companion. Abar is a spirit of vengeance, his purpose too correct the world and its evils. Abar, unlike most creatures has the feeling of revenge when provoked.
Abar said his goodbyes to his dead master, and began to follow the horrible scent of treachery. He paid no mind to the little girl and began his journey to make things right for his lost master and all those that have been lost during his time on earth.

The Illusionist backed away steadily, Shadorian Illusions worked best on intelligent beings, but mutts had more of a one track mind so either the illusion worked or it didn't, it wasn't as powerful of a trick like most of Corn God's Illusions. He needed to put this dog down, not now, instead he cast an eye illusion on him, every villager appeared as other dogs of his kind would. Corn God did this in the hope do distract the mutt, but again on a creature like this it was only a fifty fifty chance of working.
Abar was confused by the presence of the other dogs, He was unaware that the village was home to others. He stopped turned around and went to fetch his new friend, hoping maybe she could help him figure out what was going on.
Corn God made his way to the armory, collecting some arrow head knives in case anyone started to questions, or that mutt came back. The black shadow slipped out of the mist again and was silent. "It is done, the people of corn will head east to attack the Irokee tribe," Corn God paused, "and hopefully that assassin will be there, so I can finish him off." The shadow shook its head slowly, "Stay here?" Corn God asked, "But why, I want to watch our enemies rip each other apart!"
Corn God looked around to make sure no one was eves dropping. The shadow reach up with its boney black arm and touched Corn God's head, "The need to be crushed from here as well." He smiled, "as soon as they leave to attack the village of Iron, I will burn their tribe to the ground." Corn God laughed, "Sesco will be most pleased with me." And with that the shadow disappeared into a veil of black mist once more.

Borron bursted from the thick forest and was met with the familiar sight of the great steel wall that bordered his village. He walked up to a specific point on the wall and reached for the dagger on his belt, only to see that it was gone.
"What, but how, where could it have..." It was then that he realized that the Shadorian had done more than just fool him, he stole from him. "DAMN IT!" he exclaimed, anger consuming him once again, but he composed himself just as quickly. "No matter, I'm prepared for this." With that said he reached down to his boot and pulled out a second hidden dagger, almost identical to the first. He then reached up and slid the dagger into a small slit in the wall. He turned the dagger like a key and a small section of the wall collapsed, allowing him entry. He replaced the dagger into his boot and began dashing into the village, bobbing and weaving passed villagers as he made his way to the chief's lodge. He could tell that the villagers took notice of his haste, after all he wouldn't be in such a hurry if his mission had gone off without a hitch, and so they knew something had happened, the only question was what. He finally made it to the large cabin that housed the chief's quarters. He took a moment to compose himself, he knew that he wouldn't like what he had to tell him, but if the Shadorian's really were involving themselves with the conflict, then they needed to take action. He took a single breath and entered the lodge.

Sesco looked around shadows walked threw the village as much as the citizens did, the plan was going just as Sesco Shadow-Son had planned. "All is falling into place father." Sesco said proudly, "The Irokee's are to the far north killing the Meowin Tribe, and their people of cats, and the Maizhito are about to attack the Irokee while their leader and army are away." He knoticed he was not pleasing his father, the visit had made the sick silent man frown. "Father that's three tribes gone! Our false god will burn the people of corn to the ground while their army is away!" Sesco looked at the map. Victory was within his grasp.
Luna had sat and watched the events unfold, believing it to be just a dream. She had no idea that the Corn God was a fraud, or that he had killed a man in cold blood. All she knew at the moment was that she was cold and that Abar wasn't next to her anymore.
Borron swung the door open, feasting his eyes on the familiar sight of the Chief Lodge. With was decorated with many metal fixtures, relics from wars and battles fought throughout the ages, and at the very back of the room was a throne like chair with two lesser chairs on either side, meant for the chief and his council, but what was troubling was that there was only one person in the room... speaking with his shadow.
"Shadorian!" Borron exclaimed. This got the attention of the figure but before he could react he was tackled to the ground. He was about to take down his hood, but a shadowy hand emerged from it, nearly grabbing his throat. He stumbled back from this, but just as he realized it was just an illusion, the Shadorian had gotten back up and began creating a multitude of copies of himself. Borron stood up and got out his tomahawk, slicing through one false being after another.
"No, they will not fool me again." he thought to himself as he calmed down and focused. He cleared his mind, reminding himself over and over that it was just an illusion, and once he was convinced, he became to see clearly, and caught a glimpse of the true Shadorian making a break for the door.
"THERE!!" He said as he threw the tomahawk at the door, forcing it shut just as the man was opening it. He then dashed up to the Shadorian just as he turned around, knife at the ready, and stabbed it right through the stomach. The man wheezed in pain and just to be safe Borron took the blade and slashed it all across his abdomen. The Shadorian fell over dead. Borron sheathed his knife and examined the body, he uncovered his face to reveal one of the newly appointed servants.
"A spy... just like with the Corn People."

Corn God sat in the chiefs chair, but his shadow wasn't in sight. Corn God's eyes glowed a smokey black, he was seeing threw the eyes of his shadow as it slid across the floor of the forest following the people of corn. The village was nearly empty, he hadn't seen Calla, the little girl, or the dog in a while. But as soon as the battle begun in the Irokee village, this village would be plunged into a deep veil of chaos and the women and elderly would burn their own village to the ground. Children were unaffected by most of the illusions Shadorian's used. but anyone over 14 was susceptible.
The People of corn surrounded the Irokee village and take it out in one attack, I mean the only real warrior their was that stupid assassin. The shadow clung to a tall tree and opened its mouth. Back at the Maizhito tribe, Corn God was silent and he shut his eyes slowly, "Attack!" He yelled finally! He open his eyes again and watched the warriors of corn climb the trees around the iron village and jump over, starting to kill every one inside. Corn God laughed, "Time to burn..."
