For several days, a young man by the name of Zane Faye had been missing. He was the leader the cities most well known ruthless and cruel gang, the Black Jacks. He had a sick grandmother who was bed ridden and a grandfather who was constantly working to make sure their bills were paid. He was last seen walking down the street by a few bystanders. No one knew of his whereabouts and everyone was wondering on where he had disappeared off to. The gang had many different enemies that would want him dead.

Zoe had just woken up in the middle of the city, not far form a stream. She was confused and annoyed. She started to stand up when she felt a sharp pain run through her body, letting her know she was seriously wounded. She felt back down to the ground on to one knee, panting. "Damnit, I will get those little..." She said with a string of cuss words following.

(Just asking- are Zane and Zoe the same person cause you have two different names in there-
also in the city, where exactly is she(he?)? Like- an alleyway, a street, outskirts of the city?
Sorry for so many questions- I just wanna be clear on what I'm doing-)

(Don't worry about it. Zane is the name Zoe goes by to hide the fact that she is a girl. Also, she woke up near the middle of the city in an alley.)

Suddenly she heard loud footsteps- like running- before she could even check, a man ran past her, not even noticing Zoe was there- When he reached the dead end of the alleyway, he started to panic before suddenly with a flash or red and black past her, the man let out a gruesome shout before dropping down and dying.
"Got him-"
"Well he's no longer a problem-" a young man approached the body and knelt down, a small shadowy figure climbing onto him and extracting a light from the corpse's chest before it disappeared into the red pitchfork the shadow 'rabbit' held.
"let's get out of here..."

Zoe was very confused on what had just happened before her eyes. She watched as the man took some kind of light form the corpse, not seeming to notice her. She knew if this man came after her next, she wouldn't be able to run, let alone fight back. She moved more into the shadows, hoping he wouldn't noticed her bright red hair that would probably give her away in this situation.

The two heard rustling and turned to the darkness where they saw a bright red in the dark. "Who's there?" The young man spoke out to get their attention, Mikku scurrying back into the black back pack on Damien's back. "I can see you- come out-"

Zoe flinched when she saw that the guy turn in her direction then something come out of his backpack and say they can see her. She started to try to stand up, using the wall as support. "I... I" She struggled to get a single word out of her mouth, her tongue had been bitten down on a lot by her to keep form talking about her gang so it was sore and she couldn't really move it.

The creature was hidden away in his bag, the young man walking over and looking at her better as his eyes adjusted to the dark. "Are you okay?" He knelt down and helped her stand, allowing the girl to lean on him. "What happened?"

Zoe shook her head at his question, trying to speak again but all that came out where what just strange sounds, it sounded like she was trying to speak but couldn't. She wished that she could write down what was going through her mind. She did indeed leaned on the guy, having a hard time standing on her on feet. It felt like her right ankle was twisted so she was doing her best to stay off of it.

"Crap-" he huffed to mostly himself- "listen- you can't talk so you can't tell me where you live so I'm taking you to my place so you can atleast lay down-" he explained to her, thinking for a moment before lifting her bridal style- his apartment wasn't very far

Zoe frowned, hating that she could explained what was going on. She yelped when he picked her up, very shocked by the sudden movement and glad that he didn't grab a wounded area. She had small cuts scattered all over her arms, legs, and torso. There was a large gash on her left cheek, her bottom lip was cut open, her right ankle was twisted, and she was stabbed in her left thigh.

Damien hadn't noticed exactly how beat up she was until they got into the street and he looked at her under the street light. "Maybe you would be better off if I just took you to the hospital-" he frowned looking her over.

Zoe quickly shook her head as he mentioned the hospital, it would give away her location for other gangs to find her and the hospital would have to remove her clothing and find out that she was a girl, which the press would be interested in the story of a missing boy turning up but being found as a girl. They would have a field day with that one.

He didn't question much and respected her decision- with how quickly she shook her head at the idea there must be a reason behind it, so he decided just to scrap the hospital idea- he took her back to his own apartment- it wasn't very big for the fact only he (and Mikku) lived there- Damien took her into his bedroom and laid her on the bed. "Stay here- well- not like you have much of a choice-" he turned to find bandages and anything else he could use, setting his backpack down outside the bedroom so Mikku wouldn't be trapped

Zoe was glad that he didn't ask as to why she didn't want to go to the hospital, she didn't want to explain it all right now. She was thankful that he was kind enough to help her, most probably would have looked the other way or called the paramedics instead of wasting their time on her. She nodded at what he said and sat up on the bed then leaned a bit to reach her ankle and try to see what was wrong with it.

After a few minutes the raven haired boy returned- the room was kinda dark, the only light being from a lamp beside the bed. Damien sat on the edge of the bed and turned starting to inspect her. "Can you speak..?" He questioned while he tenderly started to wipe away any blood.

At first, Zoe had flinched away when he started to wipe the blood away but then relaxed a bit. She look apologetic at him when he asked if she could speak then made the motion of writing on paper with her hand. She thought that she could at least write down her name and what had happened.

Damien looked at her and realized what she meant. "Right-" he got up, walking towards his bag and pulling out a notebook and a pen. "Here-" he gave her the pad

Zoe nodded in thanks then opened the notebook, quickly writing down an explanation. She then handed it to him, hoping he wouldn't judge her by the situation she is in.
The paper read:
My name is Zane Faye, I have been marked as one of the missing teenagers. I was kidnapped back in February, but I am unsure of how long it had been, I was held in a dark place with artificial lighting. I am the leader of a gang called the Black Jacks, my kidnappers tutored me over the course of time that I was missing. The reason I can't talk is because I bite my tongue several times so that I wouldn't talk when my kidnapper had asked me questions concerning my gang, so my tongue is currently swollen and sore. I did not want to go to the hospital because it would give away my location to other rival gangs and let them know that I am in a weaken state of health.

Her handwriting didn't look like most guys's handwriting her age, it was neat and very easy to read. She watched his face, trying to see how he would react to this information.

Damien quietly read it over to himself before putting down the notebook in her lap. "The Black Jacks, huh?" He continued to clean her wounds
