Just like any other day, Chris' alarm clock went off but it wasn't just any alarm, oh no, it was a full bed alarm. The thing uncontrollably bounced Chris multiple times really hard before he landed head firs into the carpet of his large room.
"...Flipping great..." he sighed to himself in annoyance, he had been fighting every urge in his body to swear, Chris made an oath to be a loving father and a supportive brother. The horrid nuclear reactor alarm noise he was never able to accustom to was eventually gone and with it, the uncontrollable bouncing bed from hell had stopped. Somewhat relieved Chris' body found comfort in him being half on the floor and half on the bed and he began to give into the temptation to fall asleep...
"Daddy?!" a tiny voice called out from the other side of the corridor, sounds of little scurrying feet coming towards his room. Chris groaned, half asleep. A tiny girl dressed in a pink sleeping gown stood at his bedroom door frame. She rubbed her eyes whilst hugging tight onto a teddy bear the size of herself that when she walked the bear's feet dragged on the floor. Chris was already in dream land, he barely heard her call out to him. "Wake up!" The little 7 year old said walking up to him and crouching beside him as he slowly came back to the world of the living.
"But it's too early" Chris moaned, he opened one eye and looked at the sweet child that inspected her strange father.
"Daddy, you need to drop me off at school" She said poking his cheek in an attempt to awaken the beast. Chris smiled at how cute she looked even after she'd done this same thing to him when he had tried to snooze many times in the past.
Chris slowly adjusted his feet as he got ready to pounce, quickly grabbing the little munchkin he began a tickle war. The 7 year old let out small shrieks of laughter as Chris laughed and tickled her. Both of them on the floor as she tried to break his offence with her defense but to no avail. Eventually they both gave up and were panting as the lay on the floor staring at the roof.
"You are not match for captain tickles!" Chris put on a very bad pirate accent
"You're not Captain tickles silly!" the 7 year old said still panting "Your daddy!"
"You're right" he said propping his elbow up "But where's Katelyn?" pretending to look around as if the little girl wasn't around he smiled wide enough to show he was trying to hard to keep it back
"Down here silly!" Katelyn called out clutching her bear with a gorgeous smile. Chris got up and lifted her up onto his hip "Oh! i didn't see you there Sergeant giggles" making his way to the kitchen he put her down on a stool.
"Aye Captain!" she said saluting him and making the bear do the same, Chris chuckled at her cute sense of humor, she seemed to get it from him ... since he was her only parent.
He poured cereal and milk into the bowl "Cold or warm?, jelly legs?" he asked her pointing at the microwave
"I'm not jelly legs!" she giggled "Cold please" she received the cereal as she requested, digging into the bowl Chris did her hair into a ponytail then got dressed in his room grabbing her clothes he dressed her too.
"It's daddy's day off so we have something fun planned!" he said enthusiastically, Katelyn's face lit up.
"Yay"
"Yep, so behave and we'll go on an adventure" he smiled finally zipping up her jacket, he drove her to school.
Dropping her off he picked up a coffee and returned to their place of residence, Chris was a conman, however, he was very careful. Using life like masks and aliases he made millions regularly selling monuments and bridges. This meant that he lived in a nice penthouse with his daughter nurturing her with love and respect.
He flipped on the T.v and sat on the couch... a well planned day with his daughter was about to change when he heard the pent house bell ring.

Delilah taps on her clipboard, secretly hoping that nobody would answer and she can just drive back to the office. She reviews her notes rehearsing what she would say if someone did answer. "Hello Mr. lambert I'm Delilah. HELLO mR. LAmBeRt." She repeats quietly.
(Sorry if you were expecting a longer response, I'm a short paragraph kind of girl )

Chris looked at the door with a brow cocked in suspicion. He placed his coffee down on the coffee table parallel to the couch. He slowly made his way to his bedroom and called out as he did so. “Who’s there?” He yelled, pulling a pistol out from underneath his bed. The sticky tape peeled off as he took it off the wooden bed frame.
Slowly approaching the door way he cocked it and placed the tip of the barrel dead centre of the door, placeing his other hand on the door knob. Peeking through the looking hole, his heart racing just as fast as it would when he was conning people. He turned the knob and slowly opened the door, the gun still pressing against the door from his side but it was hidden. “Hello?” he asked with half a smile, his finger resting on the trigger just in case. His British accent was very calming and his natural musk was sweet.

"I'm Delilah the social worker. You must be Mr.Lambert, I'm here for Katelyn.." She pauses secretly hoping that he would just tell her to go away."May I come in?" She slides her board down to her side and tap s her free hand on her thigh.
Chris's finger loosened on the trigger, instead, he secretly tucked the pistol into his trousers and covered it with his blazer. His mind took a moment to process what was happening "t-take away my daughter...? He asked looking at her with wide eyes.
His heart felt like it was going as fast as a cheetah running for it's prey. "B-but why? You don't have any reason to her away..."

"OH NO, I'm not here to take her! I'm only checking you out, just to see which one of the parents is more suitable for her to be staying with, you don't have to worry about me taking her away." She didn't want Mr.Lambert to be mad at her.
Chris’ heart slowed down from 100 mile per freaking second, he was caught off guard, of course but that didn’t mean he wasn’t cautious about her. Chris smile and motioned for her to come in but stopped her before she did “oh wait, can we do this over coffee in Starbucks?”
Quickly running over to the coffee table he grabbed his old coffee and spilt it down the sink since it’d cooled down way too much, running back to the door he stepped out and closed the door behind him “The Starbucks is in the lobby anyway”

"Sure, lead the the way Mr.Lambert" She followed him down to the lobby, staying quiet all the way there. She was a little uneasy being in an unknown environment with a stranger."Now I'm only here to question you about your daily life and your current living situation.
Chris smiled at her a few times, he noticed she was a little shy and, it was kind of cute to him. He took a seat at one of the tables and a waitress approached, Chris motioned Delilah to sit then ordered two coffees "coming right up Mr Lambert" the waitress said with a smile then Walked off.
Chris answered her questions with half honesty "as you can already see, this hotel is mine, everything that is 5 star about it, is because I'm the owner. We live in the pent house where we came from"

"Well that's impressive" She writes on her clipboard swimping her hair out of her face looking around at Chris's fine esatblishment. "Well what do you do for a living and how often do you spend time with Katelyn?"
Chris gave her a funny look, he just mentioned he owned a hotel "erm, my current occupation is, being the owner of this hotel" the coffee came with biscuits and whipped cream, two cups, one for her also. The waitress smiled at the both of them.
"Have a nice day Chris" the waitress said smiling then walking away.
"Thanks Juiles" Chris said with a smile, he turned his attention back to Delilah "You know my name I still don't know yours"

"Well i'm Delilah, nothing special" She takes a sip of her coffee takes and doodles on the board"What can you tell me about Katelyn, like the the things that she likes and her hobbies?"
Chris smiled at her formality, she was straight to the point and not very talkative. Chris was determined to get her talking "Nothing special? that's crazy" he took a sip "Delilah's a beautiful name, suits you perfectly" he said with a half smile. He took a bite of a biscuit he picked up from the plate and took another sip of his coffee, the whipped cream leaving a white line around his lips "i nlove a good coffee" he chuckled.
"How about we play a game?" he suggested "I ask a question, then you ask a questionm. you have to answer the question fairly and honestly" his cheeky half smile was slightly devilish "So, I start" he took her clipboard and pen then placed it besides his cup of coffee with his hand on them to stop her from picking them up "No evaluating, first question, What's your favourite ice cream?"

Delilah cringes, twiddling her fingers she looks down at her coffee and wipes the whip cream off onto a nearby napkin. "I've never had ice cream, so i wouldn't really have a favourite."She sips her coffee, breathing out heavily from burning her tongue a little.
Sighing she says, "Mr.Lambert, what's your middle name?"

Chris wiped his lips with a napkin, looking between his cup and her as he took another sip "i don't have one, just Christopher Lambert, did my ex wife send you?" His face went serious and his looking directly into hers. He was hoping she'd say no but he already knew the answer.
"Yes,she's a very mean woman..." She says, her voice shakey. "So,when did you two..split up?" Delilah goes for the clipboard trying not to touch him as she slowly slid it from under his arm.
