Just like any other day, Chris' alarm clock went off but it wasn't just any alarm, oh no, it was a full bed alarm. The thing uncontrollably bounced Chris multiple times really hard before he landed head firs into the carpet of his large room.
"...Flipping great..." he sighed to himself in annoyance, he had been fighting every urge in his body to swear, Chris made an oath to be a loving father and a supportive brother. The horrid nuclear reactor alarm noise he was never able to accustom to was eventually gone and with it, the uncontrollable bouncing bed from hell had stopped. Somewhat relieved Chris' body found comfort in him being half on the floor and half on the bed and he began to give into the temptation to fall asleep...
"Daddy?!" a tiny voice called out from the other side of the corridor, sounds of little scurrying feet coming towards his room. Chris groaned, half asleep. A tiny girl dressed in a pink sleeping gown stood at his bedroom door frame. She rubbed her eyes whilst hugging tight onto a teddy bear the size of herself that when she walked the bear's feet dragged on the floor. Chris was already in dream land, he barely heard her call out to him. "Wake up!" The little 7 year old said walking up to him and crouching beside him as he slowly came back to the world of the living.
"But it's too early" Chris moaned, he opened one eye and looked at the sweet child that inspected her strange father.
"Daddy, you need to drop me off at school" She said poking his cheek in an attempt to awaken the beast. Chris smiled at how cute she looked even after she'd done this same thing to him when he had tried to snooze many times in the past.
Chris slowly adjusted his feet as he got ready to pounce, quickly grabbing the little munchkin he began a tickle war. The 7 year old let out small shrieks of laughter as Chris laughed and tickled her. Both of them on the floor as she tried to break his offence with her defense but to no avail. Eventually they both gave up and were panting as the lay on the floor staring at the roof.
"You are not match for captain tickles!" Chris put on a very bad pirate accent
"You're not Captain tickles silly!" the 7 year old said still panting "Your daddy!"
"You're right" he said propping his elbow up "But where's Katelyn?" pretending to look around as if the little girl wasn't around he smiled wide enough to show he was trying to hard to keep it back
"Down here silly!" Katelyn called out clutching her bear with a gorgeous smile. Chris got up and lifted her up onto his hip "Oh! i didn't see you there Sergeant giggles" making his way to the kitchen he put her down on a stool.
"Aye Captain!" she said saluting him and making the bear do the same, Chris chuckled at her cute sense of humor, she seemed to get it from him ... since he was her only parent.
He poured cereal and milk into the bowl "Cold or warm?, jelly legs?" he asked her pointing at the microwave
"I'm not jelly legs!" she giggled "Cold please" she received the cereal as she requested, digging into the bowl Chris did her hair into a ponytail then got dressed in his room grabbing her clothes he dressed her too.
"It's daddy's day off so we have something fun planned!" he said enthusiastically, Katelyn's face lit up.
"Yay"
"Yep, so behave and we'll go on an adventure" he smiled finally zipping up her jacket, he drove her to school.
Dropping her off he picked up a coffee and returned to their place of residence, Chris was a conman, however, he was very careful. Using life like masks and aliases he made millions regularly selling monuments and bridges. This meant that he lived in a nice penthouse with his daughter nurturing her with love and respect.
He flipped on the T.v and sat on the couch... a well planned day with his daughter was about to change when he heard the pent house bell ring.

It was a nice day, and the sun was just beginning to pop out from behind the landscapes.Hearing her phone go off with its alarm function - since she 'accidentally' broke the last alarm clock she got. She reached out and picked up her blue cellphone, and pressed a button, making it silent by putting it on snooze. Her eyes made there way to the time in the lower left corner of the phone.7:00 she read to herself. She face planted into the pillow, and moaned into the pillow, it was to early for this.It was to early for work, but alas, she could not afford to get fired, she he had only been hired a month after all.She sighed into the pillow, then heard her phone starting playing music signalling it was going off again, She lifted her head, "alright, alright I'm up!" She said to the phone turning its alarm off.She got out of bed, and walked to her closet to get some clothes to get dressed for work. She looked at her options. She decided on a dark purple jacket that the sleeves came down to about her elbows, and a black shirt with a black shirt that came up just a little over her knees. Not to short. (Obviously I have no idea how social workers dress) She went and brushed her long hair, but didn't put it in a ponytail, or really do anything with it really. It wasnt like she was going to see a queen or something and needed to dress perfectly formal.
Once she had got ready, got dressed, brushed her hair, put on some eye make-up, and all that good stuff, and ate some breakfast,Once she was done with everything she had to do she looked towards the clock on the living room wall which read 8:00. I have to be at work soon, I guess I should get going, she thought. She took out her phone and looked down at her, she had made herself a note of where she had to go today. Some guy named Christopher lambert huh she thought, putting her phone up again. She went and gathered everything she needed, and went out to her car, got in, started it, and began ff towards the location of that mans house. Occasionally she looked at the address to make sure she was going towards the right place, and indeed she was for soon she arrived t the location. She got out, and gathered a clipboard that had a sheet of paper clipped to it, and a ink pen, and walked to the door of the mans house, and rung the doorbell, awaiting an answer.

Chris' head jerked in the direction of the door, the bell rang a few times but it wasn't that he didn't want to answer, his line of work meant it could be some unsavoury characters "one moment" Chris called out placing his coffee on the coffee table opposite the sofa.
He got up and made his way to the master bedroom, calling out to whoever was at the door as he did so "I'm coming!". He lifted the mattress on his bed and then peeled the off of a pistol that was taped to the wooden frame. Looking to see if the gun was loaded, he saw the clip was half full.
He loaded the gun and cocked it, placing it dead centre of the door. He peaked thrown the glass hole and opened the door with his free hand, finger lightly resting on the trigger "hi" he said to her with a half smile.

The young lady waited patientally at the front door, awaiting to be responded to.Soon she was responded to when she heard the man say "one moment." She waited until the door slowly opened before her. When he opened the door he would see a young lady, probably not even 22 standing there. She was dressed nicely, and she looked at him with bluish greyish eyes that seemed to have more grey to them than blue."Hello sir" she said to the man before him.She held a clipboard that hand check boxes and lines on it.Requirements.She lifted her hand up close to her face and brushed her black bangs out of her eyes and brushed them behind her ear, before lowering her hand."Your Christopher Lambert, correct?" She asked looking at him, "if you don't mind, may I come in?"
Chris cocked a brow at her formality, she was way too forward so Chris though he should mess around with her "Chris? Yes, my house? Yes, can you come in?, I don't think so" he kept the gun hidden from sight. Pointed directly at her from behind the door he was definitely not gunna ease up just yet. "Aren't you meant to ask me out before trying to get into my house?" He asked with a cheeky half smile.
"Who are you?" He asked with a cocked brow.
"Who are you?" He asked with a cocked brow.
This was only the second time she had gone to some bodies house for issues like this, so she didn't expect it to be easy, and she knew where her flaws and mistakes lied. She bit her tongue, so wanting to say something smart ellicy ahout him saying "Aren't you meant to ask me out before trying to get into my house" but she held her tongue, and didn't say a bad thing about it. "No sir, no I'm not." She said. She sighed quietly, she was making a fool out of herself. "My name is Jodie Vantess" she said, "I'm here to see if your suitable of taking care of your daughter Katelyn" she said looking at him.
Chris was half hoping she'd say something cheeky, her formality made her seem like a drone. Chris' eyes widened When she said she came to evaluate him, first thug he did was hide the gun by sliding it into his trousers and putting his blazer over it. He cleared his throat and fixed his blazer "what do you mean evaluate?" He was caught off guard to say the least, his heart racing really fast. He waved her into his penthouse "she's been living with me for sev- wait a minute" he finally got why she was sent here "did my Danielle send you? My ex girlfriend?" His eyes showed all signs of seriousness.
Jodie shook her head, oh forget formality, it was stupid. The lady looked at him "I came to see if you were a good enough parent to take care of the little girl, thats all.Make sure nothings odd, nothing messed up, that your being a responsible parent, and blah" she said. She was listening closely to every word he spoke. She was caught off guard when he asked if his ex girlfriend had sent her."Sadly I'm not allowed to say" she said. She was told where to go, and so sent her, hut she wasent allowed to tell the people being inspected any information.
Chris knew exactly who sent her or who called her firm to request it. "She hasn't been part of Katelyn's life for 7 years and she sends a social worker to stop me being in her life..." Chris shook his head "what's done is done, come inside, we'll consider this a first date then" he said with a cheeky half smile.
He took her to the sofa and picked up the phone besides the sofa "Sam, hey, send up a coffee and a few snacks would'ya pal?" He asked a guy on the phone. Chris had a light green eyes, a sweet natural scent and an English accent to go with them "thanks" he said putting the phone down.
Since Chris' pent house was right at the top floor of a hotel he could get anything he wanted delivered whenever he wanted.
"So" Chris turned his attention back to her "are there any questions you want to ask me?"

Smart boy she thought to herself as she noticed his quick discovery, yet quite quick to skip to immediate conclusions. It took every ounce of herself to not be dramatic over him saying "we'll consider this a first date then", and even harder not to at least roll her eyes. Instead she simply followed Chris inside his house, and took a look around from where she stood. Not bad. She followed him over to the couch and sat beside him, but kept her distance. She slightly eavesdropped as he requested somebody send up coffee and snacks as she examined the questions she had to ask him that were printed in black ink clear for her to see. There was a line for her to write on and infront of it it read,
How Does This Person Spend Their Daily Life With Their Child?:_________________________________...and so she asked what it read, "'they' want to know how you spend your daily life with your daughter..." she requested looking at him. Her eyes held that of seriousness, curiosity, and yet eagerness.

Chris was doing everything His body and mind was used to doing everyday. Tell things that make the other person happy and in his current situation, the stakes were way too high "well, since you're here to evaluate us and I'm guessing that's over the course of a few weeks to a month. Then you can come with me and Katelyn. We're going out for the day" he said picking up his coffee and walking into the kitchen.
As he was inside the doorbell rang "Chris, you're coffee's here" a young voice called from behind the door. The microwave went 'ding' just as Chris replied.
"Yeah, bring it in Sam" Chris said making his way to the door.
"Thanks" Sam smiled as Chris opened the door to let him in, he was wearing black uniform which already indicated he worked at the hotel and the cup he brought had the Starbucks logo on it. It seemed the hotel had its own Starbucks. Sam handed Jodie her coffee with a slight blush and a goofy smile "hi" he said quietly then turned to Chris quickly so she wouldn't catch on.
"Boss, the sink's backed up and we had to call the plumber to check it out and to see if he could spot sang thing else. All we did was pay for service, pipes were perfect" Sam explained, he spoke to Chris like he was in charge
"Good lad" he replied, Chris smiled and patted him on the shoulder. Sam returned the smile and left. "If you had any questions about my current earning situation? This hotel is it" he said shrugging like it was no big deal when he walked back to the couch to sit besides her.

( didn't see you had replied)
Jodie nodded, "well, I guess it can't be decided in just a day, "she said thoughtfully, "so I guess I have to evaluate for a period of time." She looked at him when he mentioned he and Katelyn were going out for the day, she nodded an okay. She watched him walk off before writing down a few notes. She decided to wait until later to answer the fill-in-the-blank question, since the day was still young, and she had not seen what Chris and Katelyn did.
She looked towards the door hearing the doorbell, probably just the coffee guy she thought, and her thoughts proved correct when the man, Sam, came through the door. Starbucks coffee, she could tell. She took her coffee and said "thanks" to Sam. She saw his blush, and the goofy smile, which cracked a small smile on her face. She sat there holding her coffee, but didn't listen to Sam's and Chris's conversation figuring it was just employee/ manager bussiness.Though she did look up to watch Sam leave. He was a nice employee. She looked back at Chris, hearing he was the owner of this hotel."So I'm taking it you make a lot of money?" She asked and took a small sip of her coffee.

Chris shrugged "I guess, but to me the thing that matters the most Katelyn. It may sound cheesy and over said but, I'd sacrifice the world for my baby girl" Chris scoffed "I can't say the same about Danielle" his eyes showing slight anger as he said her name.
Chris looked at his watch and Jumped it if his seat "shit. C'mon we gotta pick up Katelyn" he said grabbing his car keys. He went to the door quickly and opened it up looking back at her and motioning his hand implying that they hurry

It was normal for a parental figure to love their kid more han anything in the world. But under the circumstances, it did sound a little cheesy that he said that, and she made a mental note of that, but didn't write it down. She looked down at her coffee, and took another sip of it. It was really good coffee. She set down her coffee, and looked at him. She blinked hearing him swear, she made a mental note to examine rather or not he curses around Katelyn. She stood up, "alright" she said and followed him, keeping pace. She could tell he was in a hurry, so she didn't walk slowly. She followed him to the door, awaiting for him to lead.
Chris made his way to the front door of the hotel, taking an elevator down he stopped by the front desk and quickly checked with Charlotte about something. Both of them whispering to each other quietly but making sure no one else would hear.
Chris smiled at Charlotte and thanked her, turning for the door he opened up and the doorman gave him the keys to his dodge charger. The car was cherry red with a black race stripe down the centre, it beeped twice and the doors opened up for her and him. Chris jumped into the drivers side and started the car. The soft leather seats felt good after a cleanup, Chris smiled at her as she'd taken her seat "a beaut right?" He said revving the engine.
Driving towards the school jus a little over the speed limit, he weaves through tragic with skill, ocasionally smiling at Jodie devilishly.

Jodie followed behind Chris out the front door, and into the elevator. Patiently waiting for the doors to open again infront of them. When the two made it to the front desk, she didn't eavesdrop on their conversation, all she heard was faint whispers, that the words couldn't be made out. Once Chris was on the move again, she followed in silence behind him, out of the hotel building. Jodie blinked when she same the car. It looked so nice, and cool to. Caught in the deep thought of looking at his car, she got behind a bit, but followed him, only lagging a few feet. She go in on the passenger side, sitting in the passenger seat. She noticed he was smiling at her, she smiled a little back at him.
As Chris drove she looked out the window. It didn't bother her that he drove slightly over the speed limit, she did that occasionally too.

Chris loved to hear the engine roar, every time he waited at a red lighth he revved it. Passerbys watched him rev it like he was about to race "haha, I'm sorry but I can't help myself. Kind of a douche move but hey, what can you do. I got Katelyn into loving cars too" the lights turned green and they off to the school once more.
Chris pulled up outside the school and popped out for a bit, before he closed the door he leaned in "hey, comin in or staying?"

She listened as she revved his engine, and she looked away from the window, feeling like people were starring at them, and more than certainly, they were. She looked at Chris hearing him speak up, "a car loving family I see" she said. Her dad used to adore cars as well, so car lovers was nothing new to her. Seeing the light turn green, they were off. In a at if surprised her that he didn't try taking off like a racecar driver.
Once they were at the school, she looked at him. "I'll come in I guess" she said. Ever since sh was a kid, she wasent fond of sitting in the car alone. It was boring.

"Good" Chris said running around the other side and opening her door "who said chivalry was dead?" He chuckled as she stepped out. Chris waited at the enterance with her, sparing a glance here and the. Checking her out. For a social worker, she was cute.
The school bell rang and the doors opened up to a stream of kids as they poured out to their families. Amongst them was Katelyn. Her feet carried her to small figure to the bottom of the stairs but her tiny height made it impossible to see over a few of the kids. Luckily Chris spotted her and snuck up on her, lifting her into the air they both laughed "hey giggles!" He said holding her up on his hip
"Hi daddy!!" She yelled hugging him tight. She looked at Jodie with wide eyes, mostly out of confusion "h-hello" she said snuggling her face into her father, her shynes had her peaking with half her face dug into Chris' shoulder whilst one of her eyes was resting its gaze on her.

She got out when he opened the door for her. When he mentioned chivalry she tilted her head slightly for a moment, not knowing what 'chivalry' was. It wasnt exactly a word you heard everyday. She followed him to the entrance, and awaited school to be out. She noticed he occasionally looked at her, but she tried her best to ignore it. Not exactly knowing that he thought she was cute.
Her ears heard the school bell ring, and not even five seconds after kids rushed out the door. Rather it was time to go play on the playground, or sit on your bed playing video games, or just to have a break, all of them seemed happy to leave school for the day.
She watched as Chris walked over to the stampede of kids and picked up Katelyn. A small smoke appeared on her face when he reffered to Katelyn as 'Giggles' She looked at Katelyn aho was obviously shy just by the way she was reacting. "Hello" Jodie said to Katelyn, a small smile on her face. Oh children, they held such innocence.
