A few more Pelicans came down dropping more troops and vehicles off, They were determinant to hold this point. Regardless, They had no where else to go. So they had too hold this point. They had no idea why these creatures attacked them for no reason, But they felt it was a predatory instinct. They also wondered if there were another species, But that would have to wait.

At the main zerg hive cluster the zerg queen ordered the few hundred zerg that consisted of; zerglings, hydralisks, banelings, brutalisks, mutalisks and overlords. This massive force would strike the main base why the spartans and other main forces were at the crystals. "Go my zerg. Go and kill these creatures for the swarm." The queen said to the zerg via telepathy. To anyone else they would of only heard the queen screeching and growling. The massive horde began to charge to the base. With the two massive brutalisks going there too the human base would surly fall without massive assistance. However at the main hive cluster which was only a very small hive cluster compared to the other zerg worlds which can have billions of zerg the queen had three hundred zerg not including the spine and spore crawlers but also the powerful guardians and a brutalisk defending her. With the pitch darkness of night and the sparse creep covered jungles of the planet the small swarm would encounter and kill the humans in a bloody onslaught.

"Captain, The Crystals are giving off strong energy signatures, I think we can use them for building and to get the ship out of here, But we would need hundreds of thousands of these things" Anders said picking up another one "We are heading back to base with the crystals" She said as the group started to head back. The Hornets got there first, as they were fast attack helicopters. "Hay Captain, Why dont we scan for anything other than these stupid aliens?" Buck asked, And Cutter then scanned to see if their was any other sentient species besides the Zerg on this world

As they started to scan the planet the ground began to shake at the base. The very faint but still there shaking caused the marines to look in the distance. Looking into the distance the zerg were charging in force. The hydralisks fired their spines and the mutalisks their glaves. The zerg began to slaughter the outer defenses and they got closer the battle was getting bloody and the spartans and Buck had not arrived yet.

The Elephant's turrets and main auto cannon began firing at the enemy, It had tougher armor than a scorpion, It then launched two Mongoose with marines with rocket launchers on the back to start attacking, The Bases turrets began firing Bullets, Missiles, and fire at the enemies. The Hornets began flying fast, taking evasive action and firing bullets and Missiles. Then the Base sent out a transmission to Buck and the others "Step on it! We are under attack!" And with that the Spartans began sprinting back to base, And the Warthog took off as well

The marines of the mongoose's with the rocket launchers were tackled off by zerglings and brutally torn apart. Some of the banelings hit the elephant burning a hole in the side allowing some zerglings and a hydralisks to climb in. The overlords were vomiting creep near the base and it was spreading quickly. The base was being over run quickly. With the mutalisks fireing their glades they cut one of the marines heads off and impaled another. One of the hydralisks swang at the marines with it's sharp claws ripping his gut open. Another one impaled a marine to the base with it's spines. The brutalisks came in and one of them slammed into the scorpion bending the main barrel and crushing the cockpit. The brutalisk turned to see the spartans running up and some hornets and a warthog charging them. Letting out a deep roar and a bunch of shrieks the zerg turned their attention on the incoming forces.

Douglas and Jerome began laying down rocket and Spartan Laser fire, While Alice fired her chain gun. And the Gauss and Machien gun warthogs began using their speed to dodge the attacks and at the same time attack the enemies. Cutter was watching the battle and knew this was a problem "Serena!" Cutter said, then the AI looked at him "Already done sir"

Two large ships flew down and began unloading their Large Machine guns and missiles, Vultures were attacking the Zerg now

With the vultures unloading a lot of ammunition onto the erg forces if blew nearly a hundred and twenty zerg to pieces. The mutalisks began to swarm the vultures and shoot many shots into their cock pit and armor. One of the spartans Jerome was tackled by a large hydralisk. The huge serpent like creature tried to claw the spartans head and bite him. One of the brutalisks ran up to the other two spartans to begin it's powerful attack. While several zerglings jumped on the warthog and tried to claw and bite Buck and the rookie. The battle was looking in the zergs favor but the humans may have some tricks up their sleeves. But at the main base several zerglings, hydralisks and banelings entered it and began to cause chaos inside. The ground was covered in human and zerg body parts shredded and blood soaked. With the creep slowly coming closer to the base.

The Rookie was not having any of this, He took out a shotgun and fired at point blank range at the Zerg, Jerome's shields were being damaged, But Jerome took a knife and began stabbing it, then kicked it off and continued his attacks. The Vultures were holding for now, But not for long if this constant fire kept up. Then another short sword quickly flew by, this time Dropping a Cryo Bomb to freeze the Zerg for a short period, Giving them free hits.

Some hydralisks fired at the short sword and damaged it's wing. The short sword dropped it's bomb and froze seventy three zerg but it crashed into the command center. One of the brutalisks were frozen in this strike. The spartans were fighting fairly well and so were the odst's but the amount of zerg numbers kept them head of the battle. And with the creep now spreading into the base the whole human base would be consumed in a few minutes.

A bunch of flame Throwers run out and began running to the creep to start torching it. then something ran over a bunch of trees, The Grizzlies were dropped farther away so they would not be shot down. The Grizzlies began to fire their duel cannons and MG's at the Zerg and give covering firing for the flame throwers. Alice's Chaingun finally ran out of ammo so she took out her duel SMG's and began firing at the Zerg as well. Buck firing his gauss cannon at Zerg alike. One of the Vultures could no longer sustain altitude, However, In a last ditch effort the pilot slammed the Vulture in a large group of Zerg where it exploded.

With the battle being small compared to other zerg assaults the area was turning into a burning blood soaked hell. Sending in flame throwers to try and destroy the creep it was having no effect as creep could endure extreme temperatures such as the coldness of space and the heat of just off the sun. So the flame throwers did nothing but call on the wrath of some banelings. The banelings exploded causing the flame throwers to be melted and some of their tanks exploded. Back at the hive cluster the queen was talking to an overlord. "Take this information on these weak squishy creatures to the overmind so all other zerg know of it." She telepathically said to the overlord as it left the planet to head to the zerg prime colonies a few billion light years away. Meanwhile the brutalisk fighting the spartans knocked one down and was about to impale and kill him. The other frozen one was beginning to unfreeze as it's size limited the effects of the cryo bomb.

Jerome saw Douglas knocked down and fired his Spartan laser at the creature to knock it off him. The Grizzlies flanked the Zerg and began firing at them. Buck realised this stuff has to be coming from somewhere, So he and the Rookie drove out to follow the source of it, Along with the Hornets following

The Battle continued on, Neither side letting up. Thats when a different kind of Pelican came down, Not with any thing to drop off but had Machine Guns and Rocket pods on it and began to bombard the Zerg

With the brutalisk being hit by the spartan laser it lost it's left arm. Letting out a shriek it began to burrow into the creep covered ground. With the battle prone pelican now bombarding the zerg the hydralisks managed to disarm one of it's missile pods. While the mutalisks had successfully destroyed the other vulture and returned to the main battle. One of them flew up to the pelican but got it's wing shot. The wounded mutalisk slammed into the cockpits glass. Smashing it and making it hard for the pilots to see. But with Buck, the rookie and the hornets heading for the hive cluster they would be in for a big surprise. As the hornets got close they were ambushed by several mutalisks and one of the three guardians. One shot of the guardians powerful acid hit one of the hornets and destroyed it. As they got closer the spine crawlers began to stab at the warthog and the spore crawlers shot at the hornets. The queen wandered down from the main hive and peaked over the edge. Seeing the humans approached enraged the large zerg. She let out a shriek and the hydralisks, zerglings and the brutalisk all charged them. The queen jabbed the air with her blade like 'wings' ready for them. She fired some of her spines at them to shoot down the hornets.

(The queens 'wings' are the long bone like arms on her back they are extremely sharp and lethal but she is very slow especially off creep.)

When those two Hornets went down the Three remaining Hornets and two Warthogs began using speed to driving erratically and shooting at the same time, Blasting their Gauss Cannon at the Zerg, Blowing most away in one hit, It was a powerful cannon. But Buck had a feeling they would soon be the main target when the Zerg saw this GaussHog was fast and powerful.

The Pelican driver began using the radar, Not as effective but he did manage to hit quite a few zerg with the use of the Radar. The Elephant arrived and its Auto cannon and half dozen Chainguns started opening fire on the Zerg. Douglas fired his Homing missiles at any airborne Zerg, If there was not any he would target large ground zergs, Jerome focused on armored Zerg, And Alice focused her fire power on large groups of Zerg. The two Grizzlies were no were to be seen however, Not destroyed, But not present on the battle field

The brutalisk that lost it's arm and burrowed to defend itself began to tunnel at incredible speed. Zerg were capable of literally 'swimming' through the ground. The brutalisk burst up underneath the main base and was inside. Inside scientists and engineers were terrified of the massive zerg. With a swing of it's last powerful arm it smashed two scientists into the wall covering it in blood and human pieces and clothes. Letting out a deep powerful roar it began to tear the base apart from the inside. While the one that was frozen picked up one of the damaged scorpion main guns and threw it at the pelican. Meanwhile back at the main zerg hive the zerg realized the Gauss hog was the deadliest. The queen let out a shriek and one of the spine crawlers went for and impaled the car through the passenger seat. Lifting it up it threw it to the side knocking it up badly. However one of the hornets came close enough to see the queen and shoot at her. It managed to shoot her back left leg and abdomen. Letting out a shriek she fired several spines at the helicopter killing both of the pilots and causing it to crash on the lower side of the hill.

While the Zerg were killing people. Flame throwers and Marines set up behind it and then began unloading bullets and fire onto the Zerg. The Pelican took some damage, But was still in the fight. It seemed of the Zerg wanted to take it out they would need to use their own abilities. The Pelican began firing at the zerg and strafing. The Gauss Hog flipping back over, but the passenger ODST was dead, Buck yelled at the Rookie "Keep here steady! Head for that hill!" The Warthog raced off then flew off the hill, And Buck fired three Gauss Cannon rounds at the queen.

The brutalisk absorbed the three shots aimed at the queen and now enraged began to charge the warthog. The queen however shot down the last hornet and several dozen zerglings, hydralisks, mutalisks and even on of the guardians flew off to the humans main base. Meanwhile the other two guardians focused their attention on Buck and the rookie.

"Rookie! Lets give them are gift and then leave!" Buck yelled out, The rooking began driving with one hand and took out a Target Locatorand aimed and a small green beam hit a huge group of zerg, A large green circle follow them where ever they went, then back at base holes opened up ontop of the base and a bunch of missiles flew out and slammed into the Zerg at that location. Buck and Rookie used that time to drive back to Base. "Buck, This is Cutter, Are MAC blast's have almost charged up. Hold out a little longer" Bukc nodded and began shooting at Zerg at base. Most of the marines were in the base guarding the scientists and Engineers incase another Zerg tried getting in. The Base locked down the front door. Alice was jumping onto Zerg and unloading her SMGs into Zerg, As well as Douglas. Jerome was using his shotgun when they got to close to him. There was still three Grizzlies, An Elephant, All four base turrets Three Spartans one Scorpion and a Pelican still in the fight

Inside the base the brutalisk was slaughtering the marines inside and the other zerglings and hydralisks went under ground and dug into the base. The base would fall soon and they would not survive once the other few million zerg arrive. Meanwhile the overlord that left made it's way back into the psychic net of the zerg overmind and told it about the humans. The overmind was still billions of light years away but it still heard it. The overmind would use this information for later use as he prepared three hundred thousand zerg pods to fly to the planet with the humans. The pods varied in size from that of a minibus to thirty five meters in length. It would take a day before they arrived but the pods would bring several new zerg hive clusters and millions of zerg. The humans would have no more then thirty hours before the zerg arrived and wiped them out. But back at the hive cluster the queen was extremely enraged about loosing so many zerg to these fleshy creatures. She could however sense the thousands of zerg pods coming and she knew the humans victory would be short lived if they stayed on the planet. But back at the base the guardians had began to lay waste to the pelican with a massive acid shot. The pelican fell to the ground burning. While inside the base the hydralisks managed to take out the bases missile turrets and made them more vulnerable to air units. And with two dozen mutalisks they would get their use of it.

I would recommend getting those crystals ready and the sprite gone soon I mean in 30 hours you will atleast drown in the amount of zerg coming.
