Probably. They don't have as much of a dodge bonus as rapiers, but they still have one, and some folks mentioned that some enemies seem to take bonus fire damage, and I'd expect a snowman to.

Kim rolled 1d8 and got a natural 8. After the modifier of +3 from gear and +4 from boosts and +1 (1d4) from using a fire weapon on an ice creature, got 16

@Atheist - Kim recently taught me that boss monsters aren't damaged more or less by weapon types.

Well, they don't *resist* any weapon types. Fire weapons will do 1d4 extra damage to ice type monsters though

I always try to stay low on health, he can't hurt me for 40 HP when I got only 5 left

So -- ideally flamethrowers on this one if you happen to have one
