I am my own character, its stock to my personality. I am an alien. Alot are like that and might understand but my problem is that I didn't really be taking care of knowledge and stuff as Race, Class, Deity and etc...
Then I don't even know how would be named my race, where it could be from in the space and what it could believe in (god and deity) So if there is someone that has a large knowledge about aliens. galaxies and stuff like that it could be great and kind to have a discussion with so it can help me out to get the information to create properly a character. I really just didn't really care about names so far (As am i IRL...) Well thats al about to define my RPself.
Thanks alot! have a nice one

Persona RP?
What do you mean by Persona RP??
For an alien, take what they name their planet, and make it what would be someone from that planet. Like, someone from earth is an Earthling or Earther, someone from Jupiter is a Jovian, and someone from one of the various Gliesse planets out there would be a Gliessian or Gliessite or something. Class, that doesn't matter if you're not using a class-based system (and since you're an alien, you're probably not playing any class-based game since most of those are fantasy). Diety, you could leave blank or you could do some worldbuilding and figure out their creation myth. Religion names don't have to be complex. Islam means Submission, as in to God. Shinto means The Way, basically only given a name because when Buddhism showed up there were suddenly two religions in town so they had to call it something. Even holy books don't have to have complex names. The word bible literally just means Book. So the holy bible just means The Holy Book. Very simple.
Yes of course but I don't know what's the name of my specie and where I am from. I stepped mostly anywhere without wonderrring the names where I was or where I'm from...

There are different types of RP.
What we consider 'regular RP' here on the site is the kind where the character is someone very different from ourselves. Like a character in a book, we write about them, but we don't pretend to be them. They're an individual of their own.
Persona RP is where the character has some/most of your qualities with fantasy elements and you pretend to be them.

Is that bad instead of regular rp?

Long answer: while it's, in and of itself, a better idea to build a character consistent with the world and tone, sometimes, especially for less experienced RPers, it can be easier to do a "What would I do" kind of thing. Of course, it can also depend on the story. I once ran a tabletop Roleplaying game where everyone actually was themselves. This helped because a good number of the players were very new to Roleplaying in general, and tabletop gaming in particular.

Mmm, I disagree with this. I'm not a fan of it, myself, but that doesn't mean it's a "bad" thing. Besides, as mentioned, it being a very viable way to introduce the concept of role-playing to someone generally unfamiliar with the idea, it's also just something a lot of people find fun. Even if they're "experienced" role-players, some people enjoy "persona" role-play. I don't, really, but that's me. A lot of people like "yaoi", or demonic stuff, or high fantasy--I don't, but those aren't "bad" things to like doing. I like science fiction-y elements used to explore humanity. Other people don't. Doesn't mean much but different people enjoy different things.
I think it's partly an issue of "goals"; what someone wants out of this or that particular role-play, what they hope to get out of it. Just because people's role-play related goals differ, though, that doesn't make this one or that one "bad".
While you make a point, I was also specifically comparing it to constructing a character who fits with the universe and tone you're working with.
Also I have a bit of a problem with the name Persona roleplay mostly because people get it confused with the Shin Megami Tensei spinoff, which sucks when I'm trying to do roleplaying in that universe. But that's a personal semantic gripe that's mentioned nowhere in my argumet.

I can see that, so I suppose it might be said that if one chooses to adapt their own persona to something like an extra-terrestrial race, it seems like such things would follow. Then again, they may only have as yet a vague idea; I'm similar, in that while most of my characters are, I feel, rather fleshed out, I do have one who is still only a vague impression. Perhaps the original poster is similar.
As for the name issue, well, I can certainly see that. It does seem like such similar naming would make things--difficult. :>

It is more complicated than that. This ''character'' ain't be only for RP. It is stock to my personality and identity. I live in my imagination and many stories has already been ''played'' in my mind. The difference is that I am trying to adapt it so I can play with some other people. Because of the specie I am it is not going to be hard, that's not the point. I will mostly be able to adapt myself to any kind of universe and nobody is gonna ever notice there is an alien among them... The thing is that I never paid attention naming stuff and that's the point I am trying to find out or to define because most of the time people are looking for explaination and lore. It seem I'm a uncommon specie that haven't really been seen yet anywhere as I can know. Maybe I got to create it entirelly and create my own name, stuff and BG since this is from a whole ''Selfmade'' world. It is not a problem to ''paste'' any core rule of any game I have done it many time IRL. DnD isn't the game I played the most but I did with some that has the same core system. So is it better to create the whole thing as naming my planet, specie, lore around it??

I think it doesn't hurt to have a lot of information to offer another player, so I'd say that yes, it's better. I'd just also suggest to be ready to throw things out the window if the role-play would be served best by that.
