I'm planning to join this upcoming Furcadian Greek Mythology dream as Hades, God of the Underworld. (Don't act like you haven't heard of or seen him at least ONCE. )
However, I'm having a bit of trouble deciding what his personality should be.
Greek Mythology is very open-ended, so there's a lot of room for giving characters personalities. However, Hades has been interpreted in many different ways in the past.
I mean, for example, we have the Disney Hades, who acts and talks a bit like a lawyer. Seems alright and fitting for the Greek equivalent of the devil, but seems a bit out of place in more serious RPs.
One you may know is the "evil" Hades. The one who is bitter, cruel, and heartless, and loves playing with souls. Some of those may be more true to the myths, but he wasn't necessarily evil. He was more like an alley cat, not necessarily friendly, but necessarily evil either.
Then we have a personal favorite of mine, the Kid Icarus: Uprising Hades. This one was a bit more nonchalant and funny, having a morbid sense of humor, lots of wit, being a bit immature, and of course, horribly evil and playing with souls. Minus the last part, this Hades seems to be something I want to lean towards. But, I'm not sure if it would be entirely appropriate for the RP.
So I ask you RPR, which personality should I adopt? Should I follow the myths and be like how he was portrayed in Percy Jackson? Or perhaps like the Kid Icarus Hades? Or something in between? I don't want to necessarily be so charming and yet evil that I seem like a Loki knock-off. I want something fresh, and NOT evil. Please help?

I think before you can decide on a personality, you need to know what kind of setting he's going to be in. What will the story line be? Will any of these personalities feel unrealistic or disruptive to the place? Do you want him to be disruptive or do you want him to fit in and play his role more subtly?
All of the personalities you listed sound like they are interesting in their own way, but they also have drastically different influences and that is important to keep in mind too!
