As they walked in the direction the man who took their teammate had went, Lucy digger into her pockets to see what she had with her. She had a phone she could only guess was hers, a pair of ear buds connected to the phone, some loose change, and a pen. Looking around at her surroundings and how much they had been destroyed she doubted any of it would do them any good but she kept it as opposed to throwing it on the ground and forgetting about it. Curious to see if it still worked she took the phone out of her pocket and looked at it. It was your average smartphone with a white case with a four leaves clover on the center of the back. Pressing the power button on the top she was surprised she was able to turn on the phone showing a picture of her with a little girl with pale skin and orange hair. Not remembering who the girl was, Lucy tried to unlock the phone only to find there was a four digit number lock on it. With a heavy sigh she turned the phone back off and put it in her pocket. She had no signal anymore and her phone had ninety two percent battery left so wherever she had come from at least she had remembered to charge it before she left to go to that park. Reminded of the subject she looked over at volume who was calmly walking next to her with his hands in his pocket. She was actually surprised how calm he was about the world around him considering the circumstances. But she let her thoughts pass and continued to walk.
Arsenic couldn't help but be slightly amused by the display, the drunken Hunter desperately trying to inter the locked chamber the mutant boy was contained in only to be restrained by his colleagues.
"Well, isn't this a surprise." He said with a smirk. "I must say Captain Thorne, I didn't take you for someone who would take interest in the technical aspects of the MRCD (Mutant Research and Counter-Measures Division), and while I would love to have you stay and observe my handywork, I'm afraid only authorized personal are aloud in the lab during testing. With that said Arsenic made his way over to an intercom, pushing the button and speaking into it "Security, Captain Sam Thorne has wondered in here, he is intoxicated, please escort him back to his room." He requested. Moments later, a couple of guards entered the lab and grabbed Thorne by the arms, dragging the struggling Hunter out of the lab and back to his room.
"Now then, let's continue, reactivate the tennis ball machine and prepare to resume testing." he ordered, the entire staff complying. He examined the data from the last test, they were monitoring his brain activity, and during that last session, the boy's brain didn't register very much pain, and the rebound from the ball was quite significant. "Enhanced durability, and possible healing factor... hmm, interesting." he said as he returned his attention to the boy. "Now let's see just how consistent that durability is. Increase the speed of the tennis balls, and fire multiple at once at the same spot, lets see if there's any delay in his durability." He instructed. The tennis ball machine was back online, ready to go, and on Arsenic's order it fired three tennis balls at Alex's abdomen, with double the speed and force of the previous one.

What rest over the horizon was only proof of what Wander believed in most-That it's not all over yet, there is still hope for survival. Yet he was still unsure if it meant their salvation or doom. It was a facility (The MRCD base), a community of people. There were troopers guarding the place, and they looked just as like the man who took Alex. Except they had large, metal tools in their arms which Wander assumed to be weapons. This is where the man's footprints led to, and there was no doubt that Alex was in there. One of them turned in their direction. Quickly, Wander hit the floor of the cliffside, invisible to the hunters down below. "Get down!" he demanded Lucy and Volume. He overheard one of the hunters talking to the other. "Hey", he said, nudging his partner with his gun. "I think I saw something moving over there!"
"Should we check it out?", the other replied.
"We've gotta get back to the shelter and tell Nathan about this," Wander said.
(Ignore the dice roll below, I was testing it and obviously failed.)

rolled 1d2 and got 1
We've been spotted! What now?
rolled 1d2 and got 1
The hunter shrugs it off and decides it's his imagination. We're safe from that, for now.
Nathan looked around this abandoned space. It was completely abandoned, no bugs, no animals, just him all alone. He moved at a slowish pace, as if to not get his breathing to quick and hurt himself. Though it wasnt long before he found himself wondering how his aquantices were doing. Wondering if they had found Alex yet, or if they were still searching. Were they hurt, or were they okay? It was all a great mystery to him, and seeing he had not learned to control the ability he seemed to be capable of, he was ****ed.
Alex was shocked by the drunken man that stumbled into the room, for some reason he was trying to help him, but he wasn't understanding why. Was he just a unlucky drunk man that stumbled in here? Was he one of the guards? This only deepened the confusion that had settled in his mind. "Can you at least explained to me what in the world is going on?" He yelled, but not out of anger. He did really want to know what was going on with him, he wasn't terribly angry or totally annoyed, he wasn't an unreasonable person, he didn't know what it was about his body that seemed to be out of the ordinary, whatever that may be.
That's when the second tennis ball hit him, causing a small noise to slip past his lip but he seemed mostly fine, nothing that said he wouldn't be able to stand and continue on his way.

Sam had been escorted back to his room but upon arrival he pulled a pistol from a drawer and fired it at the guards, filling his pocket with two more clips, "that doctor will not continue to up stage MY new district and anyone who sides with him will be punished," he walked down the hall reloading his gun. He burst into the room firing at the tennis ball machine. "Get out of here!" He yelled at the scientists angrily starting to sober up slightly.
Once the scientists had all gone but Arsenic he reloaded for the final time and locked the lab door. "Doctor I am happy to inform you that you are being released from duty," gun pointed at the doctor Thorne used his other hand to free the child from the restraints. "I'm taking the child and putting him in observational custody of the Hunters Guild." He smiled helping the boy up, "and temporarily halting all Harvest Guild research until further evaluation."
Though he did have the power to do this, he did not have the paperwork filled out nor did it help he was intoxicated and shot a security guard in the leg. "I don't want this guild testing on any kids, no one who looks under seventeen." He cocked the gun still pointed at the scientist, "and if you refuse to comply I will..." Vomit spewed from his mouth from the liquor, this cleared his vision a bit, "I will be forced to place you under arrest doctor."

Volume nodded in agreement. Peering over the rock quickly he saw that the facility was heavily guarded and it would be no easy feat getting in. But if they were sincere about saving their comrade they would have to figure out a way in that didn't involve making a lot of noise.
Lucy looked down at her hands and then back at the others. "Yes, we should tell him." She agreed as well. She had thought that maybe she could use her newfound powers to blow a hole in the facility and they could go in and find Alex.

"Will you now?" Arsenic replied. One would think that the good doctor would be distraught by the sudden threat, but if anything, he seemed just as amused as ever, if the smirk was anything to go by. "I must say Mr. Throne, I'm somewhat disappointed in you. After I agreed to aid you in your search for your brother this is how you repay me?" Sarcasm dripped from every word out of his mouth, he was clearly enjoying this, seeming to completely disregard the gun pointed at him. "It seems you are misunderstanding your place in this organization, I understand it perfectly... as do they." As the man gestured towards the door, it opened up, giving way for the guards and hunters to storm the lab and point their weapons at the captain, ordering him to stand down. Arsenic's smirk widened at the sight of the confused and betrayed look on Thorne's face.
"It seems you're not only ignorant to the technical aspects of the MRCD, but to the bureaucratical aspects as well." Arsenic seemed to mock. "I'm sure you're at least familiar with the concept of tenure, are you not, the gist of it being... you're replaceable, I'm not. My research has been the only thing standing between the survival and the extinction of the human race, and so of course the MRCD would take extra measures to insure my safety. It's nothing personal really, these men that you just spent the last few hours celebrating with are merely contractually obligated to take my side in any and all conflicts with other members of the organization. Understand now Thorne, so long as my work is approved by the higher ups, which it is, I'm untouchable." he then stepped forward, now within the circle of guards and hunters that surrounded Thorne.
"Now the way I see it is that you have two choices, you either stand down and hand the test subject over to the guards, or you can try and kill me where I stand, effectively dooming the humanity, only to be killed in return, it's your choice Mr. Thorne, what's it going to be?" Dr. Arsenic left himself wide open for a shot, the guards behind him taking aim to Thorne as well.
