Theo Grant checked the weather forecast on his phone one last time before pocketing it. The forecast hadn't changed in the last five minutes; a heavy snowstorm was still scheduled to hit Munich that night. The sky was light in a 'full-of-snow' way rather than an 'is-daytime' way, so he was pretty convinced the storm was coming. He just had to hope that his plane managed to take off and get him out of there before it hit.
As he turns to find a seat near the boarding terminal, he sees a woman stand by the desk with a microphone at hand.
"Passengers awaiting American Airlines flight one-four-three, scheduled to depart for Los Angeles International airport at four-forty pm. We have now received updated information that it is unlikely that the weather is going to improve enough for our flight to depart as scheduled; as of right now, this flight is canceled. You can reschedule your travel for any time in the next thirty days; request a full refund; or we can place you on our standby list for the first available flight on any airline. To ease the wait, we have included hotel room vouchers until the snow subsides until your flight is confirmed. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
Just his luck. Theo sighs, already dejected, but he would be lying if he didn’t see this coming. While she was talking in German for the local travelers, he gathered up his things and headed for the desk. Little did he realize, most of the passengers did the same thing and he was stuck at the end of the line. He briefly glanced over the general profile of the passengers – mostly solo travelers, while couples and families were the ones clustered together to discuss their options. It was a frustrating wait, to say the least, but by the time he reached his turn on the front desk, the receptionist didn't appear as optimistic since he last heard her speak.
Theo stepped up to the desk, boarding pass ready for review. “Looks like you’ve been through worse than a snowstorm.” He idly commented.
“It’s fine, I’m used to it.” She laughed, eases up a little as she took his boarding card and pulled up his information on the computer. She tapped a couple more buttons and then looked up at Theo. "Okay, thank you for your patience, Mr. Grant," she smiled again, but more restrained this time. "We can assure you that we can reschedule and put you on standby for the first available flight, but this might take a few more days until the snow subsides and it’s clear for takeoff again. The next best option would be to wait until the snow subsides. We’ll be providing vouchers for your stay at a local hotel." She pauses, checking the screen again then casts an apologetic glance towards the rest of the passengers. "And, you're in luck, because we’re down to one available room left.”

🗨 Anastasya (Make Up Artist): We will meet at the Los Angeles International Airport.
🗨 Ben (Asst. Photographer): And we can go to Hollywood, maybe even visit the Santa Monica Beach as well! It'll be a whirlwind tour of America.
Jasmine smiled while reading their group chat, picturing the iconic landmarks in her mind. "Sounds like a plan." she murmured, her voice synching the excitement in the air.
🗨 Ben (Asst. Photographer): We're all set and ready to go! We're just waiting for you at the airport, Jasmine. Don't worry, we'll be there to greet you as soon as you land.
Jasmine hesitated for a moment, a small frown creasing her forehead. She typed her replies:
🗨 Jasmine: Actually...
🗨Jasmine: I'm in Munich. There seems to be a delay with my flight.
She paused for a moment, her thumb dropping slightly
🗨 Ben (Asst. Photographer): A delay?
🗨 Ben (Asst. Photographer): How long?
Jasmine checked her phone, her stomach churning with the realization that her US adventure might be delayed.
🗨 Jasmine: I'm waiting for an announcement..
🗨 Jasmine: They haven't said how long it will be.
As Jasmine sat in the airport departure lounge, a growing sense of unease gnawed at her like a persistent mosquito buzzing around her ear. She had been certain that her flight should have taken off 5 minutes ago, yet the colossal flight board displayed no sign of its imminent departure. A nagging doubt wormed its way into her mind, twisting and turning like a serpent.
Had she somehow managed to arrive at the wrong terminal? After all, she was in Munich, a city whose labyrinthine airport left her feeling disoriented and lost. She was just arrived from Canada, and have to transferred at Munich.
Jasmine's unfamiliarity with the foreign landscape made her feel like an outsider, a fish out of water. The unfamiliar chatter of German-speaking passengers buzzed around her like a swarm of bees, their voices blending into a cacophony that made it difficult to gather any meaningful information. She felt a wave of anxiety wash over her as she struggled to comprehend her surroundings. It was like being in a foreign country where even the language was incomprehensible, isolating her in a suffocating bubble of confusion and uncertainty.

As the words hit Jasmine's ears, a surge of unease washed over her. Her muscles tensed, her heart pounds.
I have to fly now! her thoughts raced, a desperate plea echoing within her mind. But, I can't do anything...
Her modelling session at US awaited her, and she knew the importance of punctuality in the industry. But as she listened to the announcement, a cold dread settled in her stomach. Uncertain flights for the foreseeable future meant her hopes of making it on time were rapidly dwindling. Dismayed, Jasmine turned away from the boarding gate, her gaze falling upon the seemingly endless queue forming at the desk. The faces of countless stranded passengers mirrored her own frustration and impatience. Their voices rose in complaints, each one a testament to the chaos that now reigned at the airport.
Finally, unable to bear the inaction any longer, Jasmine joined the growing line, her determination to find a solution burning brightly within her. She would not be deterred, no matter the obstacles that lay ahead. She saw a man had finally done with his boarding pass, and when it was Jasmine's turn to take the hotel 's room voucher, the receptionist said that it was one room available left but the man in front of her just booked it.
Ugh. Why?
Jasmine's eyes darted nervously to the man who had just secured the last available room. Her heart sank. She couldn't speak or understand German, and she wasn't sure if he spoke English. A wave of panic washed over her. She couldn't afford to miss this opportunity. She might bribe him to give her the last available room or, if the man refuse, she can pay for him. Even if she wasn't sure if the man agreed with her limited cash for now....
"Uhh... Gutten Abend..." she began, her voice shaking slightly. "Ich... Ich... Uhmm..." She approached Theo and wanted to ask about the hotel room, but she was stammered at her limited German's word.
