Received this offer in my email today and it's free for anyone to try out (and posted on Skype's websites on the Rates page, on the bottom)! Unlimited calls to most landlines worldwide and some mobile numbers, see the bottom of the page for the countries:

When you activate this free trial, your Paypal/Credit card will be charged $1, but the payment is cancelled immediately as you can see in my screenshot, in case anyone's worried. You don't pay a dime. I think it's a way to verify your payment option to automatically renew your subscription when the first free month runs out. But, you can totally bypass this really easy.

After you got your subscription, make sure to cancel it. Login to Skype and click here:

Click on Settings next to Unlimited World, then click cancel. Make sure to say "Thanks but no thanks, I still want to cancel". Your subscription will still be available for you for a whole month but it will not renew.

"You've cancelled your Unlimited World subscription. You can continue to make calls until it expires on May 1, 2014.
No further payments will be taken unless you reactivate this subscription. "
