.. do you have anything against time lords cause thats what she runs . i guess pick a time lord and i will hand the phone over to her after i log out . her player name is cripticanotte. she plays as doran, alex grey, and dorian winter ... i also have jack.

Quick tip: be sure to share the link to the topic when trying to pull attention, and have a quick overview in any topic you post about it.

I'd also advise switching to third person perspective instead of first person. Most of those I've come across tend to find it sort of jarring to read RP in first person.

If you keep having trouble getting anyone to join, I can prolly throw a character at you. If you think I might've forgotten, just remind me.

Firstly, no one is going to find your thread if you don't LINK TO IT. Links = people can find it, and may even look at it. Pardon if I'm coming off strongly in this post, but the only reason I found and bothered to look at it was because Nova poked me >-> Otherwise I wouldn't have even known it was there.

In addition...
What is it about?
What kind of restrictions - races, magic/tech levels (not necessarily the %ages in the "Find RP" section, but like Medival/Steampunk/last century/modern/etc), locations, time-period (if necessary) - are there?
How action- or chitchat-heavy is it?
How strong are characters allowed to be?
These are only a few questions, you can probably come up with more. We as players need more information on what your little thread is about. Just because there's a plot in your head and you know generally how things are going to go doesn't mean everyone - or indeed anyone - else is going to be able to read your mind.

Also, yeah, first-person for a starting post is blargh. That perspective can be done, and done well, but it takes more effort than with 3rd-person.

Back to more serious notes, I'm not tapping out before it even starts. Just want to know if I need to bring the dramaz or if this is going to be more of a run-n'-gun deal, in shorter terms. Still would like to know a bit more before charging ahead though.

Also, about the memory thing... assuming that basic instincts are in place (how to eat, breathe, etc.), are the memories actually just gone, or simply repressed. It's the difference between a person not remembering anything at all and having to build back up from scratch, and a person knowing things, but not why they have that understanding.

All the advice and tips given here are very useful. It's true that certain styles of RP are more common around here, and it can be helpful to provide additional info for a setting so that other players can find a fitting character to play with you.

I also want to reiterate that you can play however you want, GeniusScribe. If you want to play in first person then by all means, play in first person! I can imagine that if you just want a quick roleplay, you don't want to write a ton of info on the setting details and that's totally fine! Whatever makes you happiest.
