Oh Springtime, the time if the year most people seem to adore. Pure green grass, and clear blue skies, and sometimes the ocassional rainy day.
Flowers beginning to bloom, and leaves starting to grow on the ends of tree branches, most people would think of it as wonderland, however, one man did not.
Within the sunshine and slight wind a young adult walked. He had just turned 18 not even three months ago back in the middle of January, and he was just beginning to savor his freedom as an adult. No parents to boss you around, no chores to be demanded to do, and more importantly, while all those suckers were sitting in tight desks in a dull, old, classroom, he was out here in the open with little to no restrictions. Freedom! Sweet, sweet freedom! Though Destery wasent fond of today's weather. He liked the days when it was cloudy, and not bright and sunny. As he passed people on the sidewalk, almost all if them starred at him. The boy wearing a black and blue hoodie, with his hands stuffed in the pocket, and the hood over his head. He wasn't getting starred out for the fact of wearing a hoodie, but rather for wearing a hoodie when it felt so warm to everyone else. He wasnt like everyone else, so he didn't need to live like everyone else.
As the young man walked his pace slowed to a complete stop, looking up at a building, a rather large building. Infront of the building it had a sign that read: Little Miracles Orphanage in bold green letters. Destery tilted his head, and looked back up at the building. Orphans huh, he was so close to being an orphan himself. His father was killed at the hands of sickness, leaving him alone with only his mom. He wondered what it would be like to adopt a child. To change a child (or teenagers) life. Destery looked down, thought fully, then looked ahead and started off towards the building. The thought of somebody not having parents killed him inside, so maybe today, he MIT change that.
He walked through the iron barred gate, and up the pathway that lie in between nice, green grass with flowers of every color beginning to bloom all around. He walked up to the door, an average set of doors. Two dark brown wood doors, that had a fancy thing to knock with. Destery risked the chance and reached out his hand to knock, and once his hand made contact with the sun it turned red, and began to burn, and hurt, but alas he took child of the thing and knocked with it, quickly returning his hand to his pocket, awaiting for somebody t answer the door.

a woman who looked about in her mid thirties answered the door and looked the young man over an let him inside and took him to a desk were she sat down. the inside of the building was panted white with a bunch of colorful hand prints all over it. some larger then others and some very very tiny in many different colors. though it didn't always look this way the building used to be just a dull brown with some white here and there no real color at all. the woman finally asked* "hello young man can i help you with something?" she looks at you while you look around the room*
Once the door had been opened the young man stepped inside, and since he was out of the sun light he pulled his hands out of his pocket and took hold of his hood and pulled it down, revealing a pale man with black hair that seemed to have a hint of brown in it, and he had green eyes. He looked at the middle aged women and followed her to the desk, taking a moment to examine the environment, so colorful, and kiddy-decorated. He looked back at the women hearing her speak to him, "umm..I would like to know if I could adopt an orphan today.." he requested.
the woman nods and smiles up at the young man* "yes you can would you like to look around and see who you would like to adopt to you young man?"she asked and stood up so she could show you around the building and to all the rooms*
Destery nodded and smiled a shy, yet childish, yet small smile at the women. He was being alitte shy, and nervous seeing he never adopted before. "That would be nice" Destery said, awaiting to be escorted from room t room, shown his options.
she smiles and nods* "right this way and we will begin the tour"* she said and lead you down a hall again white with colorful hand prints on it and she takes you to a room filled with little cribs and babies*"this is were newborns and toddlers stay"*she says and she watches the young man look around at the little babies and toddlers*
"Alright then" he said and began to follow her down the halls.Even the halls had white walls covered in colorful handprints. He followed her until they stopped at one room. The toddler room. He looked around from where he stood, and shook his head. Him making care of a young toddler wouldn't work out to well.
she smiles* "come on we have some other rooms you can look at"*she takes you from the toddler room to another room with with some more kids in them around the ages of six and thirteen*
Destery followed behind her once more, out of the toddler room, and into a room totally different. This room contained what seemed to be children and young teens, but alas, Destery shook his head again..just not feeling it yet.
"we have one more room...but it is a little different than the other rooms"*she tells him and leads him down the hall but in stead of colorful hand prints they are paw prints with some hands in between. she takes him in a to a room and in stead of normal little kids and teens there are a bunch of kids with ears and tails some small and some are taller then others*
He followed the young women through the halls, noticing as they walked the paw prints beginning to appear on the walls, rather than all hand prints. That was interesting. Soon coming upon a room that had more children and teens in it, but they weren't exactly human. They were mixed with probably animals, seeing they all had ears and tails. He looked around, more abnormals. He knew how that felt.
while you looked around a little girl with little orange ears and tail that looked to be about six or seven came up to you. she smiled and her ear twitched as she looked at you. you noticed a boy who had the same colored ears and tail come over and pick up the little girl* "im sorry about that she Nika likes to meet new people" the boy said and wakled away with her and sat on the floor holding her to him* "that little girl was Nika Stone and her older brother Kyro.....he loves her but he knows he will never be adopted with her so he watches over her and waits to see who will take her hoping it will be a good family." the woman told you*
Destery's eyes slowly made there way to the little girl who ran up to here, almost like a child racing to a Christmas tree on Christmas eve, awaiting presents and great joy. His eyes slowly made their way to the little boy who came and received the child. "That's alright" he said to the teenage boy. He looked back at the young women, then back at the children as she talked. He could support one person, but he doubted he could support two people. He wasn't sure what to do, or even WHO to choose..
she nodded* "why don't you stay here for a bit and look around some more at all the kids and then come to the front desk when your ready and we can bring them out for you does that sound alright?" she asked him*
He looked back at the lady "that would be fine" he said to her, his British accent could be heard within his words. He looked back at the children and teens, trying to make a decision.
she smiled and nodded and left you in the room to look around on your own if you wished to leave that room and go back to one of the others. the little girl was talking to the boy that you saw earlier and was pointing at you but the boy shook his head at her and just held her to him*
Destery looked at the people once he was left alone to examine. His green eyes slowly made there way to the two children had seen earlier, Kyro, and Nika. Slowly the pale man made his way over to them.
the girl looks up and sees you comeing over to them and she smiles and giggles then pokes Kyro to make him look. he looks up then away knowing that his sister maybe taken away now and he whispers to her* "Nika i want you to be a good girl ok?" he as her and she nods*
Destery went and sat in front of the two. He decided to make a small bit of conversation so they wouldn't be strangers to each other. He looked at the two with his dark green eyes, "hello" he greeted the two. Despite the fact he appeared a little, odd, with his extremely pale skin, and wearing a hoodie despite it being over 70 degrees outside, but at least he didn't appear mean or anything.
the little girl smiles at you and waves a bit* "hello!" she says cheerfully and looks at her brother and he nods to you* "hello" he says and the girl just smiles and asks a lot of questions* "how come your so pale? how come you have a hoodie on its so warm out!" she asks and smiles and Kyro scolds her* "Nika its not nice to ask so many questions" she flattens her ears in understanding and nods* "sorry KyKy" she says using the nickname she mad for him when she was just a toddler and that made him smiles* "its alright Nika"he says and pets her head gently*
