Hey, friends, I do have some news to break to the few of you who ever RPed with a deleted member named Lia_Ray. Lia was one of my distant family members, but I don't want you guys wondering about what happened. In truth, Lia had been diagnosed with cancer before she was on the site and she said she didn't want anyone here to know so nobody would worry about her health. Unfortunately, she lost the fight in July and handed her profile to me. She wanted to delete it but she didn't get the chance and I held onto it for a while in hopes that I could put her legacy into stone, but I eventually accepted her desire and deleted her account for her. I know this is a pretty dark topic, but I also know that Lia loved so many people on this site and would want you people to know what happened.

So, no. She didn't disappear or ghost people for no reason. It's a grim reason, for sure, but I would love to see this thread stay up as a dedication to the beautiful and amazing Dahlia as well as an awareness page for cancer. I don't know if this will get taken down, but I do hope some of her old friends see this to understand the situation.

Thank you so much for letting us know this. Lia_Ray/Dahlia was quite active and a driving creative force on 'This Modern World', a group I run. One of her creations there was starting an RP of a family suffering from death of some members, and a few of us writers took on one of the family members as a character.

Her last activity on the group was May 20th I believe. She was loved greatly by us and was really missed when she went silent. She had been quite active before that for a couple months, and a couple of the writers said they had written a lot with her in 2023 before she went on a hiatus. We kept all her RPs in 'Lia's corner' in the Reading Room archive forum in hopes she would return again. It was a really sad day when her account was deactivated.

If you don't mind, I would like to set up a memorial on our group for her, and would like to quote your post here.

The RP Repository has a procedure for Deceased Users! Here is a help article that will tell you about the process. The account still exists in an archival mode. People will still be able to view it, and their characters but there will be a small signifier that the user has passed away.
