Vance felt the potion begin to kick in as Vance watched mia, but he ignored the pain it brought him. All he cared about was making sure she was okay.
Mia rolled her head slightly to the side, her eyes opening just barely. "Vance." She whispered, moving her hand an inch in an attempt to hold his hand.
"H-hey. Feeling better?" He asked, holding in the urge to cry out in pain due to the potion.
Mia shook her head slightly, moving her hand closer to his. "Nope, still feel like shit." She whispered, resisting the urge to cry out in pain herself. The salves were contradicting the silver in her veins, drawing it out.
"I'm.... Sorry to hear that." He said, lying down on the floor.
Mia grabbed his hand in an urgent gesture as her back arched, causing her to yell out in pain. "Don't leave me, ever." She whispered, slumping motionless on the bed. Her body was doing well fighting the silver in her veins with the help of the salve, but there was still a chance of death. The candles in the tent flickered slightly as a breeze blew through the clearing, shaking the tent a bit.
"I won't leave you mia." He promised her as he sat there, the last of the effect of his potion kicking in, this pain worst than the first part but he tried desperately to ignore it.
Mia's body struggled to get rid of the last bit of silver in her veins, feeling the warmth of Vance's hand and begging herself to make it through. She desperately wanted to go do normal things with Vance like go to the movies, or an amusement park. Arching her back again, the last of the salve kicked in and all the silver was out of her body leaving her sweaty and with a faint smile on her face.
Vances potion wore off and he smiled at her. He didn't want to tell her, but he knew the silver was still in his body just not as much but he didn't have the urge to kill her anymore and that's what he cared about.
Waking up a little bit later, Mia saw the sunlight streaming through the mesh of the tent. Turning onto her side, she saw Vance on the ground beside her. "Hey." She smiled, resting her head on her hand.
Vance looked up at her. "Hey. How do you feel?" He asked.
"Like I was beat with a sledge hammer." Mia grumbled, stretching her arms carefully over her head. Her clothes were still bloody and torn from the events of yesterday, the smell of silver still lingering slightly in the tent.
Vance smiled at her. "Glad I'm not the only one. That and the fact that your dad is kind of scary when your injured. I thought if I fell asleep I wouldn't be waking up any time soon."
Mia laughed and then thought better of it and smiled instead, her smile lighting up the whole tent. "He knows I would have been furious if he did do anything to you." Mia said, noticing a sharpie mustache on Vance's lips. Suppressing a giggle, Mia silently gave her cool credits.
Vance looked at mia and smiled a little bit. "What's so funny?" He asked.
"You might have a little something on your upper lip." She laughed despite the pain in her side in doing so.
Vance looked at the mirror in the tent and started laughing at himself. "Who did this?" He asked cheerfully.
"Most likely my dad." Mia laughed with him, sharp pains coming with each laugh until she had tears of pain and happiness in her eyes. "You still owe me a shirt." She added as an afterthought.
"We can go shop for a shirt for you once you feel better." Vance promised.
Mia smiled and beckoned Vance closer with her index finger, a bold thought in her mind.
